  • i just listened for the longest time...was so beautiful

  • Ashley Barret.

  • @DFTheNightmare Ohgodthetears, i'm sad you never get to find her.

  • @MrSpamcool Err, what? She's the singer.

  • @DFTheNightmare gaah, never mind, got mixed up with names, thought you were talking about the girl that left the crystal barret you find in the game.

  • @MrSpamcool Err, ashley's the singer.

  • she has a absolutely fantastic voice

  • Y U END SO FAST

  • Am I the only person in existence who thought Bastion was... okay? I played the first.... fiveish levels and stopped. I plan on finishing it, but I just found it to be.... okay. The music was all that kept me playing past level two, tbh.

  • 82 complete doucebags

  • @MrHeavyGunner *douchebags

  • @billie874 I disagree; the lyrics are great. As calm and soothing as the music may seem to be, the lyrics are filled with resentment and simmering anger. It's just not the same without them.

  • Windbags don't have much taste for fine music, 82 of 'em managed to dislike this video 'fore the Kid managed to chase 'em off. You read that in my voice, din'cha?

  • @TheMightyKawama

    Ya damn right I did!

  • I was at a friends and heard this song, went home and bough the game.

  • Would love a Bastion 2.

  • The kid is a Monster!

  • I just got this game. Haven't played it yet (caught up in homework.) but where is this in the game?

  • @TeenoFilms you hear it for the first time at Prosper Bluff near the end of the level

  • When this song started, I just STOPPED. I listened to the whole thing, terrified I'd never be able to hear it again if I rushed. I was entranced at the first note.

  • This song is beautiful and scary at the same time. The song's about the Ura coming to eradicate the Caelondians inside their city...and yet it's an amazing work of art that I don't think I'll ever forget. I love Bastion too.

  • I was humming this for days after first hearing it... Damn, I loved that game...

  • This song gives me goose bumps. :3

  • I still think Want You Gone should have won...

  • @Hanson12075 I still think you should be added to the goverment depopulation list...

Nothing compares to the impact you have when you hear this song in game...

it cant be matched by a witty wonky credits song.

  • @TheAlexRo123 That's so true, so true. When I first heard this song coming up to zia, fuck what a game experience.

  • This is the weirdest song...it is the strangest combination of soothing, melodic and dark. If you know anything about the game (SPOILER?) this is basically Zia's race singing a song about how they are going to come to finish the war that was started a long time ago and how their giant wall they erected to protect them from Zia's race (the Ura) would ultimately be their destruction...i love this song and Bastion

  • Brilliant song. Doesn't work quite so well out of context though. It's still a great song, but not as atmospheric when you're not searching the ruins of the world for solitary survivors.

  • This song was so good it almost made me get he game, til i realised i just ordered skyrim <3

  • @dragonangel6 Should've spent your money on this, friend. For me, Skyrim has officially been pushed aside by this game, and I am one hell of an Elder Scrolls fan.

  • 81 people are faggots

  • You know, it's rather striking that this entire song is nothing but a single angry string of threats. It's so nice and calm sounding - if a little sad. At first you think it's about the end of the world, but it isn't. It's about the Ura saying they're going to go tear down the rippling walls, and Caldonia are going to get what's coming to them. Fitting song for Zia to sing.

  • @cypressz This song is actually the whole game in a nutshell, if you think about it.

  • just finished the game. It's very well done. It calls for a SEQUEL!

  • @phantomdestro Nope. I'm happy with this being a brilliant one-off.

  • that artwork... holy shit

  • This game is so good, and this whole soundtrack is amazing!

  • Not going to lie, this song makes me want to play the game again... I just beat it 8 hours ago.

  • Your face when you realize this song is about the Ura.

  • Does this song remind anyone of "Money" or is it just me?

  • @Norvallen I fucking hear "Ain't no sunshine when she's gone" wut

  • You know this sounds extremely similar to a song I heard a good while back. Still good.

  • Me: I'm going to listen to Build that wall.

    *3 seconds into the song*

Me: OMG WHY DID I WANT TO LISTEN TO THIS SONG ITS SOOOOO SAD! *cries*

  • I CAN'T STOP HUMMING THIS SONG.

While I'm driving, while I'm at work, while I'm waiting for the train, when I'm on the can, while I'm shopping - EVERYWHERE I GO, I just repeatedly hum this song.

    AND I LIKE IT.

  • Why did i listen to this! Now i have to play the game again!!

  • I like this song but the game makes me wanna blow up sometimes! lol

  • Theres one thing I hate about this game. One thing that drives me insane above all else....

I'll never be able to experience it for the first time again......

  • @Wyte1000 That just brought a tear to my eye, and made me incredibly sad.....fuck you bro

  • @Wyte1000

Good lord I thought I was the only one

  • @Wyte1000

That is the best comment I have ever heard, sir/ madam Thank you.

  • @Wyte1000 Fear not! Just play it again after you have Alzheimers!

  • @norandomnumbers But, he'll forget!

  • I love this song, but wtf is wrong with the related videos right there ->>

  • Is it weird that because of this nice tune,

and more so because of the lyrics,

that I play this song whenever I play Tetris?

  • I want a game like Bastion (made by supergiant) but a full retail release.

  • @TheMightyKawama It's already good like this. But a full retail game or a Bastion 2 would be epic

  • @jonathanx1408 The only problem is that it's short and you just want more of it...

I would GLADLY pay for a sequel, prequel... ANYTHING.

In fact, a spin-off strategy game involving the Ura-Caelondian war would be great as well.

@Wyte1000 Hmm... better hit myself in the head until i can erase the memory. Gonna leave a note attached to my forehead telling me to play this.

  • As soon as I got the phonograph, I quickly skipped to this song.

  • REPLAY FOREVER

  • *----------------*

  • This song went so perfectly with the atmosphere of the game when introduced. I havent been that immersed in a game in so long.

  • Does anyone have any tabs for this song???

  • I'd abandon the past just so Zia could live her life happily. <3

  • @peba132zope I did that~! <3 I played the game twice since I pressed 'regeneration" than the escape one!

  • So beautiful

  • Why the hell is "Man sticks his head up girls ass" A related video to this awesome song?

  • @Carnagedude504 Because if someone where to really do that, it would be kinda awesome. Probably dangerous for both parts, most likely suffocating the man and leaving the girl with irreparable ass-damage; danger + unusual technically equals ADVENTURE!

  • @DoctorMGinius Either that, or Bastion's soundtrack is on "that" side of youtube... I dunno why it would be though =/

  • @Carnagedude504 Generally videos from "the zone" show up when Youtube can't find related videos and just fills the gaps with popular videos, which are all the videos with misleading titles, weird images, and all that rubbish... but there are a LOT of Bastion OST videos, by various uploaders. So, I think we can call Youtube fail on this one.

  • @Carnagedude504 I think it is from the game.

"The boy sticks his head up a girls ass."

  • @Carnagedude504 I'm too scared to know

  • @Carnagedude504 Because that's probably what the Kid got to do to Zia when he rescued her.

  • @Carnagedude504 even more disturbing, how in the holy hell did it get 14 million views?

  • @Carnagedude504 I think this must have so few related vids that it just started using random ones

  • @Carnagedude504 maybe because listening to this song is like sticking your head up the ass of the hottest girl you think of? unless u don't like girls of course :P

  • @Carnagedude504 simple, it stalks videos

  • I dig my hole you build a wall .... minecraft song?

  • @Timotheus24 at first i had to think of "diggy diggy hole"... :D

  • @Timotheus24 actually it's a reference to the Ura digging their tunnels and Caelondia was building a wall around the Ura

  • this somewhat reminded me of the game Zanzarah

  • @liam1060 I did, completed a week ago, It was fun, my point here is just that the music won song of the award, thats all, I just maybe getting a bit paranoid at the soundtrack, thats all.

  • @DenisRodriguezSantos I like the theme, its just that that best song of the year award? Seriously its just country rock.

  • @ArmorTalons310 If you'd played the game you'd understand. I know it sounds pretentious but it fits the game so well it's ridiculous

  • We all want a second title of this game. No discussion.

  • @Belial1247 No.

  • @FMPuppet Do you want a discussion? With ME? -_-'

  • @ms14344 No i mean the crush 40 remix of sonic boom should've won or even portal 2 want you gone.

  • @ArmorTalons310 eh songs not winning is no reason to not like the one that won though. just relax and enjoy the music like your supposed to. that's what it's there for

  • I disliked it, I'm one of the 80 guys because WHY THE FUCK IT WON BEST SONG? Suppose to be like skyrim's song or Sonic's Sonic boom! WTF?

  • @ArmorTalons310 here's my opinion on this song it has a lot more than just beat to it. it has a lot of sentimental value in the players and a deep yet still know connection through the story that you learn throughout the game, where skyrim's songs if you mean main song it has barely any connection to the plot and not much to back it up and sonic boom has been out for years hasn't it i mean if it's still the original i heard that song on the mega sonic collection for game cube

  • @ArmorTalons310 This song is great, open your heart and listen, well you don't need if you played bastion, this game just force you open your heart

  • Kid just sits an' listens for a while...

  • 80 People were so mad at Zulf, they refused to help him in the end....

  • @TopHatToppingTops spoilers ;(

  • There's no saying what video I click next, but I will be back to this one soon enough.

  • "Do I really need to explain what happens next?"

  • i sung this to my girlfriend we both play this game aahh i miss her :/

  • Kid thinks of getting on minecraft and build that wall..some time...soon

  • I DIG MY HOLE YOU BUILD A WALL

  • @Ruok90 I DIG MY WALL YOU BUILD YOUR HOLE

  • @jonasdrejerjensen I WALLED A BUILD YOU HOLED A DIG

  • Beautiful game and song... Touched me deeply. Tried going to bed tonight, but sweet melody kept playing in my head.

  • @RossiniCelestin What are you talking about? I listen to this while I go to sleep

  • It's beautiful and yet kinda creepy. Ura war song sung by an innocent little girl...

  • Marry me?

  • Kid jerks off for a while

  • @polgy2006 lols

  • How are there possibly 80 dislikes on this? It just doesn't make sense....

  • @benbjamin1234 80 caelondians... probably the girls, the families and the guy who treated Zia and her father so bad...

  • Okay from looking at the lyrics carefully and looking at the game I have come to this. When she says "I dig my hole..." is because the Ura live underground and they survived by digging holes and sealing them up during the calamity. When she says "You build a wall." it is either the bastion being the wall, or the rippling walls, either way it stands for the Cealondians. "one day that wall is gonna fall." Is the calamity and the destruction of the world. there is more but I don't have enough room.

  • Holy dicks, this song tastes so good.

  • The best soundtrack in the game

  • The moment you realize that this song actually reminds you of Johnny Cash`s God`s gonna cut you down O.O

  • @MrWannabemonkey I can never listen to that song the same way after seeing a certain trailer that it was in...

  • I need the chords, please.

  • @HeyyLookItsAlex Google "bastion build that wall chords" second link!

  • Comment removed

  • Why can't I stop obsessively listening to these songs!?

  • @xRymerx Because of rhythm. Once at campfire I played it for about half of hour. At that time noone was talking, they were just sitting and listening. Do you imagine 20 teenagers at campfire, with beer and sausages just sitting like hypnotized?

  • @xRymerx Because they're fucking awesome.

  • This game is worth it

  • Kid adds it to his playlist. Lookin' for a reprieve from the world, Kid just sits back and listens for a spell.

  • Good thing the windbags dont know the kids all out of health potions.

  • whos the artist for this song?

  • @CanadianLange

    Lyrics by Darren Korb

Vocals: Ashley Barrett Its in the description, guy :|

  • @thechefawp ok thank you. and id appreciate it if u didnt give me that face. i did look in the description

  • This is beautiful.

  • The first time Rucks said the Ura lived underground, I didn't think he actually meant... underground.

  • Kid looks at the replay button...knows he'll press it again soon..

  • @alecworley20 why is this comment so popular now?

  • @LstShotProductions It's a reference to the the way the narrator talks about the protagonist's (The Kid's) actions in the game

  • @Hadangeki k thanks just got the game a couple hours ago now i understand

  • Anyone else thinks the wall and hole are references to the Ura living underground and the Rippling Walls?

  • @death98796 dude, obviously...

  • @death98796 I'd say more of a reference to the entirety of the Caelondians and the Ura. The song seems to be more about the reasons for their living, from an Ura's point of view. From what the song suggests, they believe it's useless to build a wall that'll fall eventually with so much word, when you could dig down and have natural defenses. There's also the occasional threat in-between the lyrics :P

  • whats the artist name?

  • @AlllphaAramiss Lyrics by Darren Korb and vocals are by Ashely Barrett.

  • Could only upvote once.. This system sucks, I wanna upvote gazillion times!

  • Gon' build that wall up to the sky

Gon' build that wall up to the sky

Some day your bird is gonna fly

    I almost cry ;(

  • Just beat the game. Epic journey.

  • This song is fucking amazing.

  • 78 Peoples never see the Calamity

  • "The Kid just rages for a while."

  • Bastion seriously has the best OST ever in a platformer.

  • @skate3745 In a platormer? I thought it had the best EVER. What game has better, I actually really want to know :)

  • @James18998 Alot of the final fantasy games.

  • @skate3745 i agree

  • Elevator source <3

  • @BailogRu Was this used as music in it? If so, I completely missed it. Elevator: Source was a fantastic game though. It really changed the way I think about life.

  • @untitled1productions Yeah, it's one of the songs on the elevator. Easy to miss if people are talking.

  • @Yaesumuji Yeah, I was playing with 4 other people, and we were talking in Mumble. Things got hectic.

  • Listen to it when going to sleep.

    Beautiful song.

  • Does anybody know the chord progression for this? I can't find any tutorials or tabs anywhere... :|

  • I can't stop listening to this.

  • This song made my nipples hard
