  • new kryptonite U-locks don't have circle-like holes for round keys. you just can't do the trick with today's u-locks.

  • batvette ur working for kryptonite or what?

    are u stupid

  • I'm not certain what you mean here, but Krypto. did in fact replace all the defective locks free of charge. They saw the weakness and sorted it out. I would hasten to add, I am not a krypronite employee, simply a happy cyclist. I own a New York 3000, a Fhageddabout it, and a MiniD. I trust my collection to them when I am out and about, and I would never buy or use another brand of lock. Kryptonite all the way, every time.

  • thanks for the idea idiot

  • Kryptonite's response to the problem was admirabe, they replaced the lock side of hundreds of thousands of units in short order, no charge, NO other manufacturer did the same though industrywide many were using similar type locks. The bottom line is any lock CAN be defeated and for the consumer we saw who stands behind their products, values their customers, and who takes your money and runs. I confidently lock my $3k Ti hybrid with a Kbrand NY fahgeddabout it U and Cobralinks Jr together.

  • this is the reason i dont use d-locks, i use 2 oxford revolvers :) brilliant locks for expensive bikes, i advise u to use them instead of d-locks people (If u have an expensive bike) i havent had any trouble what so ever with mine few people have tried but never managed to get into it :)

  • couldnt they cut it with a bolt cutter?

  • Is that why the UK's sold secure list rates the Oxford Revolver as Silver and the Kryptonite NY "U" as Gold? You're pointing to this video as evidence but at the time this K lock with the round key was sold, Oxford ALSO used the same vulnerable round type lock. Today, current products compared, the K "U" lock is still less defeatable on the street than your armoured cable which requires smaller, more common tools carried by the thief than a stout U lock. Best lock is BOTH together.

  • lol cool

  • Yeah I'm pretty glad I saw this to make sure I get a good lock for my P2. If that gets stolen, I would cry.

  • glad i saw this, i live in seattle and i used to use this lock. thanks

  • yu fuking weirdo

  • fucking asshole, when u have a bike u paid for with ur hard earn cash, you'll see what an asshole you and ppl like u are

  • chill, dickwad. the thieves can pick it, freeze and smash it, lift and haul it, it don't matter. if they want it, they're gonna defeat it. hope they all die a painful death

  • Where did u take that kona?

  • why would he tell you. haha

  • what lock do you guys recommend? i live in a bad neighborhood and just want to know which one is worth buying? i have the bulldog dt 5012 but i heard someone god their bike stolen with this lock over night

  • Get any new Kryptonite Lock. As long as it's NEW it will have flat keys. Keys that can't have BIC or any other circular hollow objects in them. I recommend the Kryptonite Fahgettaboutit® lock. 80$ (and get a chain too) & really heavy but you live in a bad neighbourhood.

  • Yeah I just got a kryptonite lock, and it has a flat key that has grooves all around it, a pen can't even fit in the keyhole.

  • look into the hardwire locks made by kryptonite

  • looks like back to a combination lock for me.

  • lol good luck with that... tin can for the padlock combo locks and even easier for bike combo locks... get a d lock... not many ppl know this

  • My new Kryptnonite lock has a disc lock, the pen won't fit. So my old tubular Kryptonite lock is now good for scrap metal. Their web site says they ane not replacing locks anymore. Sad...

  • did they make that on purpose thinking no ones gonna figure that out??

  • I only got one replacement out of 5 so far and its been two years already...

  • They were, recalled, replaced, for free.

  • i thought that they have been recalled short after?

  • awesome! I'm gonna go get me some bikes!

  • at least its safe from superman haha get it ha (corny)

  • LOL

  • nice

  • Holy fricken shit! I've seen that done one Kensington locks for computers with a small rolled and taped up piece of toilet paper cardboard.

  • ah for fucks sake! those locks aint cheap either man... thanks for nothing kryptonite.
