Awesome walkthrough. It's been 13 to 15 years since I played this and I never considered using the time ring on Garland, nice work. Hope you're able upload part 10 soon.
Back then, when I first got the protection ring I thought it was awesome...until I ran out of ring power in like 10 seconds. At least it was useful for the last boss of the castle place whom I thought it was impossible to beat without it.
(Had to use it again at Galagin's Island when he showed up the 2nd time)
Despite the difficulty I had in the castle and clock tower place I consider it my favorite place to play in.
I completely agree. It's a very challenging level, but well worth it for how fun it is. And swear to gods, I had the exact same thing happen to me with the ring! of course, I wasn't getting attacked when i used it, so i didn't even know what it did XD
The clocktower part is so annoying, those guys keep shooting at you and then the slimes drip on you. Also I never understood how a bracelet could free other prisoners, and where were those prisoners that needed to be freed at? Lol, oh and dont forget to go to town and replenish everything this time =)
The clocktower part is indeed annoying, but I still found it miles easier than the castle part. Also, I think the prisoners were all located in "other" screens that the character can't access. In other words, you're character is traveling in a strictly linear pathway, but there might have been splits in the path at the jail part with more prison cells. And no worries, I'll be sure to replenish XD

Tho its a weird song for getting kidnap.
