Jesus said. "All who will follow me will suffer persecution." Judging from the harsh comments the Bible proves God's word is true. Remember we are living in the days of 2 Timothy Chapter 3. Thank you Crown for being a light onto the world.
There are plenty of GOOD schools of music at church related institutions of higher learning. Crown apparently is the place to go for conservative christians who have no talent and aren't interested in hitting pitches head on and like singing with spread unfocused vowels. Like music but have no talent? Are you a conservative christian? Want to sound like a bad jr. high choir/band? Then Crown is for you!
@baritonebynight Look, Maybe you are just jealous of Crown, if you think that, just keep it to yourself. God has done a GREAT, WONDERFUL work at this college and church, i plan to go there so just keep the rude comments about God's children to yourself.
@purplelion1313 If you are a conservative christian with no talent and wish to go to an unaccredited college, then go to Crown. St Olaf College is accredited and nationally known for their music program as are many others. I don't think Crown has any standards of admission except that you must have a pulse and be a conservative christian.
@ baritonebynight...Debasing such wonderful music will in no way endear yourself to the Saviour...let His name be exalted, for one day every knee shall bow before Him!
@wordnut865 Get off it fool, having high standards for music has nothing to do with one's religion, unless Crown is a cult Now who could make you say such a blasphemous statement not grounded in any scripture, hmm? Who could it be, I just can't imagine who? Could it beeeeee......SATAN?
These are college kids?!?! Horrible vocal technique? What are they teaching these kids at this place?! Focus your vowels...you sound like jr high students...and don't slide into your pitches!
They are singing about the only true Savior Jesus Christ, that is whom they are singing about!! Vocal technique, the man who directed this choir is one of the best song leaders of all time. Please don't judge someone you don't know. They sing wonderfully. They sing songs that glorify Jesus Christ.
@CrownCollegeTN I don't need to know the person when I can hear the tragic result. Hit the pitch, don't slide into the pitch. Keep the vowel focuses..more vertical instead of that nasty spread sound...it the pitch sags. Do me a favor, tell them to NEVER attempt Handel's Messiah again..stick to contemporary conservative christian music which is of limited range and does not require the technique of a classically trained singer.
Actually, the end result of every time the choir sings the Messiah, people trusted Jesus Christ as their Savior!! There was no tragic result. They will ALWAYS sing the Messiah and I am boasting in Jesus Christ!! I play in the church orchestra which accompanies them every time they sing the piece and they sound wonderful!
@CrownCollegeTN You play in the orchestra? That says alot about your lack of talent. The orchestra sounds like a troup of 5th graders. Maybe their excited for their interpretation of Jesus, but it certainly doens't mean that they have any talent. Again, stick to conservative christian contemporty music of limited range (less than an octave) and chord structure (IV, V and I) where pitches don't matter that much.
I attend Allegheny Wesleyan College and im going to suggest this song for our next semister for our choir. Its so beautiful...... brings tears to my eyes
