i hope people dont listen to you, not to be mean, but what your saying is wrong. ie

the informal past tense form is ta, that is right, but you cant just add ta to any dictionary form/root form, there are different conjugations for different verb groups. ie

書きますー書くー書いた

食べますー食べるー食べた

読みますー読むー読んだ

行きますー行くー行った

many different examples.

"I like reading" can be done (and is prob'ly prefered): 私　は　読む　こと　が　好き　(です)。 I know I shouldn't use spaces, but it's easier to read that way.

Y'know, there're a lot of things you could do to make Japanese easier for yourself. There's a certain way to learn your verbs, but it looks like you haven't. Also, if you don't know the て form of verbs, you're seriously screwed.
