  • @Square1Boy The most important thing is to stay tight throughout the movement, especially at the peak of the extension. Your back should not come into play because your abs are tight and because your lower back is supported by the bench. Take a look @ 1:46, the lower back and the very top of the hips are supported by the bench. This is just like a V-up like he said, you just increase your range of movement using the bench.

  • Just thinking something relative to the video. Fit ball excercises not only increaes the level of resistance afforded by gravity but alos increaes the range of movement.

  • Purple hippo dont state facts unless you know them. High protein low carb diets along with working out is an excellent way to lose weight.

  • There is really no need to do any ab exercises except for SB crunches, Captain's Chair knee/Leg raises and properly performed bicycles, as these three exercises are the top three ab exercises for both the abs and obliques as judged by the level of electrical activity measureed in the muscles while performing these exercises in University studies. However must of us still do other ab exercises, necessary or not, because variety is the spice of life.

  • How often should one do this workout? Everyday or 3 days a week?

  • do the workout and do it again when your body has gained full fitness again. for me it is every day or every 2 days but this is a very hard workout so if your a begginer take it easy.

    but dont over workout..muscles need time to rest, relax and build.

  • jump rope is excellent, do 10 mins before every workout that way u warm up too

  • hi i am trying to lose my belly fat, but when i train i lose all the fat on my cheeks and it looks horrible. i look anorexic eventhough my biceps are reasonably big. i am starting to take whey protein concentrate before i train which involves running, and rowing, situps and press ups. do you have any other tips and do you think whey will help?

  • lmao this is funny:p dude whey protein or any other product wont help u lose fat from a specific area in ur body! it is ur body that decides! and whats the deal with losin fat from ur cheeks anyway? thats a good start as u will be losin fat from all over ur body!

  • 1) It's true, protein does nothing to help weight loss. Protein provides material for muscle growth among other things.

    2) You lose fat from belly slower because it's visceral fat, as opposed to the subcutaneous fat in the cheeks/thighs. Visceral fat is harder to get rid of (and worse for your health too1). So just hang in there and the belly fat will be going away too :)

  • Not true at all. There have been numerous studies that show that protein supplementation aids weight loss. And visceral fat is fat around the organs under the rib cage, not belly fat which is still subcutaneous fat. Sometimes belly fat is hard to lose because of genetics. The best way to target subcutaneous fat, specifically, is through cardio. Although weight loss itself occurs primarily from diet and not exercise. Again this is supported by literally hundreds of studies.

  • u cant lose fat in a certain spot in ur body! it is an overall fat loss that u shud aim for...rope jumpin is great it is a form of cardio

  • i sing and workout. believe me when i say that singing does not give you flat abs.

    theres a common saying in the fitness field that abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym. diet is what gives you visible abs, not ab workouts (they do bulge the abs, however).

  • You can be extremely lean or thin and still not have stomach muscles though. It's like any other muscle, it needs to be worked (some genetic freaks are exceptions).

  • Y'know, another way to get good abs is to sing, because you have to use stomach muscles for that, too :) I have a completely flat stomach just from singing everyday

    I don't have like, a six-pack, but I have a flat stomach and that line, you know, between my ribs that goes straight down...it's gotta be from singing because I never exercise at all!!!!!! i'm lazy ;) But singing takes a lot of energy; it takes a lot of concentration and it's physical, when you're earnestly practicing.

  • I'm not going to argue with you, just because I don't know the facts. Its just that there are many singers who are chubby, thats why I really doubt it. But then again this is a crazy world, everything is possible.

  • this is tru. Remember also, a lot of times when your back hurts, it's cuz you have weak abs compared to your back or vise versa.
