  • his 0-60 was about 5.7-5.9 sec should be mid 14's or low 14's. overall great car for its era and can still be made beast.

  • @kowclubproductions well i consider a full exhaust cold air and lowered gears completely stock as it is not that much. but i bought the car bone stock and it dynoed 180hp, it may have had something that i didnt know about and still somehow have not noticed as im rebuilding the engine but i dont think so

  • @mikethedick the 7m is what 220 hp where as the 2jz tt is 320 hp sure its not a massive difference but the potential is also far greater with the 2jz and imo the mk4 look better im not saying the mk3 is ugly i just prefer the mk4. i almost had a 91 supra but it was gone when i went to go look at it :'(

  • @foxxrider250r My favorite supra motors are the 1g, M-TEU, 5m, (GA70 my favorite) 7m, 1jz, 2jz.. They all came stock Turbo or Twin Turbo. The GA70 is my favorite because its a 4cyl thats twin turbo stock. :D

  • @suprakilla2JZ No supras come with 4 cylinders. The 1ggte is a 2L inline 6. revs like crazy but not the best for building big power. sound of them is awsome though.

  • @lvlagic93 1g-gte isn't a crappy motor by any means, but it does have a hard time powering the heavier mk3's.It seems to shine more when swapped into a smaller car such as the corolla or celica. They also make such a great sound when being pushed. more of a 7m guy myself. still can't get over how much torque they can produce for being such a small liter engine.

  • thats with just a intake, dp, hollowed cat, and 10psi. i did change the hg and bumped up the compression a tad so it runs slightlly harder than stock 7m maybe 280rwhp. now my car is way faster running 15psi close to 340whp. and my motor is in a new shell. i'll post a vid when i get home from oahu of how it runs now.

  • Nice, what mods are done to yours? and njm12333 a couple other problems, where Powersteering lines, and rack problems, if you go to look at one, make sure you check the rear trunk panelat the bottom of the rear strut towers, they rust out most there, Best of Luck,,,

  • look to see if the headgasket problem has been taken care of, the 7m has a problem with blowing head gaskets. usually an aftermarket one will do the trick and torqueing down the head studs tighter than stock helps too

  • Thanks i appreciate the info. Yeah i love the car and this would be my first turbo car. I have mostly been into muscle cars and superchargers. Thought i would try something new. Plus i love the gas mileage. Not like my supercharged mustang.

  • redline is not good for the motor or car. its the point where the car's motor is unstable. granted its more 250-500 rpms above that for general safety. but power is not made to redline. look at the scale for powerbands in anything. he is keeping the power in the range the car is most likely making the best power without dropping. very nice driving if i do say so.

  • mainly stock. hks dp, hks intake, mbc @ 10psi, and fresh hg. i did a major tune up on the whole car when i change the hg. the motor is out of a wrecked supra with 118k on it.

  • Your turbo is adjusted wrong. Everytime you change gears you can hear compressor surge. This can destroy the turbo. The blow-off valve probably needs to open more to relieve excess pressure.

  • Your correct in saying that, however the SSQV HKS Blow off valve that this car is running sounds like that at lower rpms.

    Every HKS SSQV BOV sounds identical to this one.

  • Well your both wrong. Compressor surge isn't normal by any means, it's caused when the BOV doesn't open or doesn't open enough when under boost, so the boost pressure has no place to go but back out the compressor housing backspinning the turbo in the process which will F your turbo up with enough time. The SSQV is designed to eliminate this by opening at low and at full boost between shifts or when you just let off while under boost. You can't adjust your turbo only the BOV and Wastegate.
