  • The notes in FF6's version of the prelude in one part (starting at 1:28) are very different from the versions of the song present in FF5 and before. All the future FFs went with FF6's version.

  • when my body dies, this song will play while my soul drifts into heaven...

  • "FFIII had an incredibly mundane soundtrack."

    I liked FF3's soundtrack D: D:

  • after final fantasy x was the ff games no more final fantasy in my opinion, yeah final fantasy 13 is a cool game but, where are the dragons?where are the fucked up endbosses? the dungeons and castles...? i remember to the old time, i played final fantasy 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 and im nearly to cry, because this is only a memory. ahh NES, and SNES ages were the best ever!!!

  • I love the final fantasy series. I got almost all of them.

  • this is the best song in ff...Ever since they took this song out i stopped playing the new ffs. and 6's is the best

  • everytime someone is playing a game and you hear this you automatically wonder which ff game theyre playing? (unless of course youve memorised them all) (=

  • Ahhh...back when this series was actually good.

  • This is one of the best pieces of music in the game.

  • The only bad thing i can think of the prelude was when i listened to it at school with a frined, that was also an FF fan, told his girlfriend to stop talking until the music finished, she slaped himand went out the classroom, coudnt belive it, then i though, maybe its the prelude to their breakthrough

  • @Hc2p3n4t4rp ....wat?

  • Try playing two at once, a little delayed from each other.... cool

  • this is so beautiful

this i exactly what final fantasy makes final fantasy

    :D

  • Greatest song to appear in the series I think. A final fantasy needs this to have it's mystique

  • Yep, this is the song that makes an FF feel like an FF.

  • @PeyserConley What drives me crazy is that FF XIII has completely broken all FF Rules! There's no FF Victory music at the end of a battle!!! And Where was THIS melody in it? Drives me crazy... what was SquareENIX Thinking???

  • @Nekokitty74 while not in the actual prelude, the prelude is in one of the pieces of ffxiii.

hamauzu is still an awesome composer though.

  • @rithblog

Compared to other composers that worked on FF... No. He's not awesome. He's good, yeah, don't get me wrong. But he's far away from awesome.

  • @Voojin1 Oh come on. "Blinded by light" and "Saber's edge" are great tracks, and I would say it is some of the highest quality battle music in the entire series.

Better than VIII and IX at least.

  • @BeastoFrancisco Blinded By Light and Sunleth Waterscape are the only songs anyone ever remembers or cares about from XIII-- I remember every single song in FFIX and I can tell you exactly where every track plays in the game.

FFVI is fucking MIDI music and it's still some of the most emotional, nostalgic music I will ever hear. I defend XIII and all but it's not a classic and it never will be. The music is all very mediocre stuff, save for maybe three or four tracks. IX's OST is 140+ songs.

  • @Antiformed I don't agree with that at all. Plus if you think Nobou Uematsu has never done a mediocre job with an FF game before, you are deceiving yourself. FFIII had an incredibly mundane soundtrack. Even the DS remixes of that game suck.

  • @BeastoFrancisco I never mentioned Uematsu at all. I just think that IX's soundtrack and this one far surpass any game music made today because of the hard work that was put into it. All orchestrated music simply blends together in my mind when I hear it in video games, which is why I miss when music sounded like it did back in the day. Becauseit sounded like video games, not a band and choir.

  • @PeyserConley which is why i think its wierd that FF XIII doesnt have it :\

  • insanely beautiful. thanks for uploading!
