the old days are wack and good for ya ya play this game for more then 99 then me cause we now have better graphic ya know ya dont miss shit ohh and where do you get the green scretour
@kingofmonkey123 I moved on to better online games. The magic green scepters were from the Fairy Tale Quest part 1, and if I remember correctly I think you can get them upgraded with the parts 2 and 3 Fairy Tale quests. There is also a watering can that never needs refilled.
@marty10009 I agree. I created this in January 2007, and lumbridge achievement diary was not yet released, so there was no cabbage teleport at that time.
I agree with you whole-heartedly. I only played from 2005-2009, but my favorite time period in that had to be from 2005-2007, before Jagex made all those drastic changes that in my eyes has simplified and ruined the game for my enjoyment.
Nah idiot. This is for the Jagex game RuneScape. For one, check the date I posted this video, over 3 years ago. For another, the game RuneScape has changed a great deal over the past 3 years, something I doubt a newer player such as yourself would know. And last of all, look up the account name Belldandy 22 in highscores, and you will notice I did accomplish level 99 in the skill farming. True the methods shown are outdated now given the newer updates, but 3 years ago, that was how it was done.
Thanks for watching. Yes it is very outdated, but the concept is still the same, with a couple of additional methods of transportation. I recently quit runescape, but I am certain the game will continue to change.
Unless you have 100 Mil + and can afford to buy tree seeds all the way to level 99, farming herbs is the best way to level up and make money for profits. Not everyone can afford to farm to level 99 in three months time.
I don't mean anything bad by this, but the songs reminded me of spending time with my mother before she passed...Really comforting guide. Very helpful guide also.
Thanks. This was taken from the farming guide on Runescape's website:
For completing A Fairy Tale Part I - Growing Pains (quest), you'll be rewarded a pair of Magic Secateurs. These help your Farming skill and experience because, when they are equipped, they increase the amount of vegetables, herbs or hops harvested by 10%. Also, if you wish to fight the tanglefoot monsters, the secateurs are the only effective weapon. The damage you inflict with the secateurs is based on your Farming skill.
Trees are a bit more complicated, as there are several routes for transporting to several of the tree and fruit tree patch locations. Plus for special trees such as calquat and spirit, not everyone reaches a high enough farming level to really care about tending to them, but you're right it would be useful if someone did create a guide for them anyway. If I had more spare time I would, but as it is for now I have a very young aged daughter to look after instead of being online for long. :)
Hi there, I notice you're being very helpful and sorry that I haven't read all the posts, but this is on the old runescape interface so was just wondering if this run is still up-to-date and correct even though it's an old guide? Is it still the same method?
The farm patches are still in the same locations. Probably the only change I would make on the Falador/ Draynor area is to teleport using the Explorer's ring (cabbage teleport) from the achievement diary rather than to use the glory to Draynor. It takes you directly to the cabbage patch south of the allotments. All the other areas use the same teleports, same farm tools, same methods. If you have any additional questions, feel free to ask, and good luck!
thank you for letting me know the tip you gave me should help me alot when i decide to farm cuz now i wont need to worry about the crops dying when i log off for sometime. Thank you so much :-)
if u plant anything then logoff for awhile or long time does the stuff u plant like disapear when you log off or does it sit waiting for you when you come back at anytime?
After you plant your crops of any sort, and you decide to log off, your crops continue to grow thier usual cycle. For example, you do not need to remain online for 8 hours for a magic tree to grow, you can be offline for that time period and it will be ready for checking health / harvesting whenever you decide to log back into the game. A crop does not die once it reaches its full growth. I hope this helps.
i'm not going for any particular level in farming, just using it with herb patches for money. i got a question, though: the higher ur farm lvl is, does it decrease the chance of ur herbs becoming diseased? if so, i might wanna buy sum tree seeds and get it up :p
Sadly even a level 99 farmer can receive diseased and/or dead herbs. The best way to protect from that happening at any level is to use super compost. If you are concerned about the use of expensive herb seeds such as rannarr or snapsdragon, simply do as above and attach a nature amulet to one patch to moniter its progress as you do something else in Runescape. Just know that the amulet of nature only works for one herb patch (or any one farm patch of your choice, including trees). Good luck!
yeh i do all that - i got my nat ammy on the patch in ardy and i always use supercompost on them. Its just, if you have a higher level farming, does it decrease the chance of getting them deseased. thanks for the quick reply too btw :p
In my opinion, having a higher level did not seem to decrease the chance of disease, but rather just allowed you to try to plant a variety more herb seeds. If you're looking for a higher yeild while harvesting, you can also try to weild the magic secatuers received from the quest "Fairy Tale Part 1".
Thanks, this actually helped a lot. I developed my own little routine which involves spending a lot of money I made with Hunter on seeds and using almost every patch available. I do everything from trees, to fruit trees, allotments, and obviously herbs. I spend a lot, and reap a lot when they grow. Sometimes I lose a lot too, but I usually go even.
Great video, I may actually go get 80 farm soon. :P
There is no faster way to farm otehr than to keep at it in a routine. Use all forms of seeds, trees / herbs/ allotments/ etc. Good luck if you are doing for the new quest, its really difficult- as I finished it the day it was released!

Good question. It might have been 10 k or alot more. I tend to either runecraft or buy a bundle of 1 k laws at least once a month. But I used them for other purposes too such as treasure trails, and slayer tasks.
I just used super compost and hoped for the best. You can apply a nature amulet to one herb patch to check on it without teleporting to that location or standing there watching.
I'm sure it could be done in under a year if you play alot and have the funds. I accomplished 99 prior to alot of farming quests, shortcuts, additional patches, and grand exchange.
I've been playing well over three years now. Farming is expensive but did not cost me as much as many people assume, mainly because I achieved it before Grand Exchange update, unbalanced trade update, and some of the quests that increased patches but may have decreased experience values on certain plants. I also used certain quests/ minigames to my advantage such as Kingdom of Miscellania which made tree seeds practically free.
It took me 16 months, but that was before the extra patches and quests that created tools and easier access were available. It can probably be done in under a year with a daily farm routine and dedication, from level 1-99.
Yes it could. Try to plant your most valuable herbs in the disease free patch at the "My Arm's Big Adventure" area atop Trollheim. Also for the other normal herb patches you can use a nature amulet on one to check the herb's growth progress from any location in Runescape. Using super compost makes a more successful harvest as it increases your herbs picked and makes it disease less often or not at all.
thx man lol all i need is 30 for hi cores :/ bso herbs all the way.. i guess i like first song 2nd song is bit dodgey lol. Overall good vid u got to th point and it looked professional
They are fast experience seeds to grow, but also some of the most expensive. The ranarr & snapdragons will help pay for more seed replacements. Also try the Kingdom of Miscellania quest to get tree seeds from bird nests if you invest in maple logs. You'll profit from the logs and crushed bird nests.
Vinesweeper was released this year; I've never tried it since I achieved 99 farming in 2006. You should try it out and let me know about it.
Its alot of cash, but much less than it was two years ago. Check with the grand exchange to estimate how much the seeds you are interested in using will cost you.
Primarily yes. I also farmed trees, but since those take longer to grow I grew alot of herbs in between slayer tasks. I was able to achieve 99 herblore from all the herbs I grew with 99 farming.
Its my video, with errors since it was my first one. I posted that a year ago when I uploaded this. Plus check out my other videos, you will see its the same Runescape account.
im now level 53, (1k left till 54) 5 maples growing, marigolds + ranars growing also in all 4 patches, (to recover tree sead losses) 1 ranar seed = 20k - makes 5 - 12 herbs (i get 10 averagly) 40k profit, marigolds are 3.5k each take 20 inuts to grow, :P
account name = chris s94 if u wish to follow progress
yes i know the account is "nooby" but i only level when im bored, i normally merch (make 50m in 2 weeks, =]
Wow, you are not only goal oriented, but also very smart in your skilling investments and time regarding merchanting and figuring out what to grow for profits. 50 mil in two weeks is impressive!
ive gone from level 1 - 48 (waiting for a maple tree to grow then im 49) in three - four days, using the 4 - 5 tree patches known to me, i could be level 75 by september, maybe a lil more, then start with magic trees, magic tree exp = 13k+ each tree x 5 patches = 65000xp, mage trees grow every 6 - 7 hours so can do easily 10 or even 15 trees a day, which is about 190k+ on mage trees alone, thats without the snap herbs/ watermelon / limps / fruit trees i wil be using aswell,
If you have the time, dedication and funds, then yes it is realistic. Don't forget that people like Zezima and N0valyfe managed to achieve 99 farming in under three months!
It took me 16 months because I was not a wealthy Runescape character three years ago lol.
if i only farm herbs (highest lvl that i can) and im at 60 atm, how long do u think it would take me to 99?about 2 or 3 runs a day of herbs and all 5 spots unlocked
It might take 1-2 years. I recommend growing the herbs, but try to farm trees too to help gain more experience daily. The herbs help cover the tree seed costs.
nice video, really good, but could juts told me how long it would take from level 47? to 99 and how much it would cost, and can you do it fairly fast with around 7-8mill (it's all my things =( can you? )
Perhaps 1-2 years, depending how much time you play each day. Im not sure of exact cost, you will have to check the grand exchange for seed prices. I recomend using the kingdom of Miscellania for tree seeds (invest in the maple logs, you can sell the crushed nests and logs for profits) and grow herbs. This will allow you to farm without spending alot of money on seeds, as you will be gaining money in return for what you grow.
I'm going for around 85'ish Farming from 65 atm, any tips on how to stay organized and keep with the pace of Farming and not spend ALL my cash (10m). Any advice would be wonderful. Nice video, thanks for the tips although it's basic information for beginning Farmers.

I also recomend that you farm between slayer tasks or some other skill, and create a routine of what farming areas you want to visit for each cycle. Thanks for watching and good luck.
Its alot of cash, but much less than it was two years ago. Check with the grand exchange to estimate how much the seeds you are interested in using will cost you.
Marigold flowers used to be worthless... until the skill summoning was released. Now I believe they raised in value because skillers can use them with gold charms to create a summon pouch. You are also correct in saying they grow fast, it only takes them around 15 minutes to finish growing!
Around 75 minutes. No need to stand next to your farm patches watching and waiting for them to grow, I recomend using super compost before planting your seed, then work on a different skill, tend to your other farm areas, or log out while the time passes.
That sounds like a good plan. To make up for the cost of those tree seeds (even though I don't think orange seeds are that expensive) you should try to plant a few herbs too and sell them or make into potions to sell. I wish you the best of luck getting 60 farming ;)
the lvl 3 explorers ring, from lumby achievement diary, has an unlimited teleport to the cabbage field just south of the draynor allotment. just figured that'd be a really good way to get there, instead of a glory
Im not sure of the numeric amount of experience, but since all I picked were avantoes in the video, Im certain it was not very much for that one trip. Yet not only did I receive farming experience, I also used them for making super energy potions, thus I received herblore experience too.
Yes, but you would probably make more money farming toadflax, rannar, kuarms, and snapdragons. Check out the daily herb and potion prices on the Grand Exchange to get a better idea of what seeds / herbs / potions would make you the most profits.
It took me 16 months, but this was prior to the additional farming patches, quests, shortcuts, and Grand Exchange. I think most people can achieve 99 farming easier and faster now.

should I do palms+calquats+yews+ranarrs/snapdragons?
Like, I'm not after the fastest xp..
I got ~50m to spend :F
And how about Vinesweeper, I hear peeps saying that its decent xp when youre 90+ farm?
Thanks!
chramne 3 years ago 2
They are fast experience seeds to grow, but also some of the most expensive. The ranarr & snapdragons will help pay for more seed replacements. Also try the Kingdom of Miscellania quest to get tree seeds from bird nests if you invest in maple logs. You'll profit from the logs and crushed bird nests.
Vinesweeper was released this year; I've never tried it since I achieved 99 farming in 2006. You should try it out and let me know about it.
Good luck on your level 99 goal!

Oh, sorry. Hmm ok, I'll let ya know about Vinesweeper when I hit the grand 90s :]
Thank you so much, again!

Hey, whats ur secret, how did u get 50 mil, please im open to anything, my runescape I.D. is dirtbaggage9
thanks
hogofago 3 years ago
Farm at least once whenever you log in, your choice of seeds. I prefer herb seeds as you get money back by selling them or making into potions.
Good Luck!
melsa3 3 years ago
Its alot of cash, but much less than it was two years ago. Check with the grand exchange to estimate how much the seeds you are interested in using will cost you.
melsa3 3 years ago
u did herbs until 99?
happyrunescaper123 3 years ago
Primarily yes. I also farmed trees, but since those take longer to grow I grew alot of herbs in between slayer tasks. I was able to achieve 99 herblore from all the herbs I grew with 99 farming.

im now level 53, (1k left till 54) 5 maples growing, marigolds + ranars growing also in all 4 patches, (to recover tree sead losses) 1 ranar seed = 20k - makes 5 - 12 herbs (i get 10 averagly) 40k profit, marigolds are 3.5k each take 20 inuts to grow, :P
account name = chris s94 if u wish to follow progress
yes i know the account is "nooby" but i only level when im bored, i normally merch (make 50m in 2 weeks, =]
thank you
MiST3RSMiTH 3 years ago
Wow, you are not only goal oriented, but also very smart in your skilling investments and time regarding merchanting and figuring out what to grow for profits. 50 mil in two weeks is impressive!
melsa3 3 years ago
how long will 1-40 farm take?
shaner419 3 years ago
That depends on what you grow and how long each day that you play.
If you know where all the farm areas are located and have seeds, then I think you can achieve that in less than a week.
Good luck!
melsa3 3 years ago
ive gone from level 1 - 48 (waiting for a maple tree to grow then im 49) in three - four days, using the 4 - 5 tree patches known to me, i could be level 75 by september, maybe a lil more, then start with magic trees, magic tree exp = 13k+ each tree x 5 patches = 65000xp, mage trees grow every 6 - 7 hours so can do easily 10 or even 15 trees a day, which is about 190k+ on mage trees alone, thats without the snap herbs/ watermelon / limps / fruit trees i wil be using aswell,
MiST3RSMiTH 3 years ago
i madem yself a deadline of christmas to get to level 99, is that realistic ?
MiST3RSMiTH 3 years ago
If you have the time, dedication and funds, then yes it is realistic. Don't forget that people like Zezima and N0valyfe managed to achieve 99 farming in under three months!
It took me 16 months because I was not a wealthy Runescape character three years ago lol.
Good luck on your goal!
melsa3 3 years ago
from lets say 23-72 how long?
steel7692 3 years ago
That depends on what you grow and how long each day that you play.
Good luck!
melsa3 3 years ago
lol why dont you just tele with lepricon and do vinesweeper?
ramzeyz 3 years ago
I acheieved 99 farming in December 1, 2006. Vinesweeper was not created until 2008.

if i only farm herbs (highest lvl that i can) and im at 60 atm, how long do u think it would take me to 99?about 2 or 3 runs a day of herbs and all 5 spots unlocked
coolmand5 3 years ago
It might take 1-2 years. I recommend growing the herbs, but try to farm trees too to help gain more experience daily. The herbs help cover the tree seed costs.
melsa3 3 years ago
nice video, really good, but could juts told me how long it would take from level 47? to 99 and how much it would cost, and can you do it fairly fast with around 7-8mill (it's all my things =( can you? )
jmb800 3 years ago
Perhaps 1-2 years, depending how much time you play each day. Im not sure of exact cost, you will have to check the grand exchange for seed prices. I recomend using the kingdom of Miscellania for tree seeds (invest in the maple logs, you can sell the crushed nests and logs for profits) and grow herbs. This will allow you to farm without spending alot of money on seeds, as you will be gaining money in return for what you grow.
melsa3 3 years ago
I'm going for around 85'ish Farming from 65 atm, any tips on how to stay organized and keep with the pace of Farming and not spend ALL my cash (10m). Any advice would be wonderful. Nice video, thanks for the tips although it's basic information for beginning Farmers.

melsa3 3 years ago
Wow, thats gonna take a long time =P i'm doing a bit of farming now, but nothing serious, just need a higher level for a quest =S
jmb800 3 years ago
I also recomend that you farm between slayer tasks or some other skill, and create a routine of what farming areas you want to visit for each cycle. Thanks for watching and good luck.

if u need to make some money aswell if you grow marigolds its good they give u like 3k profit each its a flower grows fast :)
nathanyo5 3 years ago
Marigold flowers used to be worthless... until the skill summoning was released. Now I believe they raised in value because skillers can use them with gold charms to create a summon pouch. You are also correct in saying they grow fast, it only takes them around 15 minutes to finish growing!
melsa3 3 years ago
so like how long does it take for the herbs to get fully grown?
agentermermurphy 3 years ago
Around 75 minutes. No need to stand next to your farm patches watching and waiting for them to grow, I recomend using super compost before planting your seed, then work on a different skill, tend to your other farm areas, or log out while the time passes.
melsa3 3 years ago
just a small contribution, the new explorers ring {3} is a great way to tele to the draynor patch, have fun farming ;)

my planning to get 60 farm from 39 farm is planting orange trees and paying the farmers,it gives me 10k xp each day i play.its verry good!!
blacksieb 3 years ago
That sounds like a good plan. To make up for the cost of those tree seeds (even though I don't think orange seeds are that expensive) you should try to plant a few herbs too and sell them or make into potions to sell. I wish you the best of luck getting 60 farming ;)
melsa3 3 years ago
the lvl 3 explorers ring, from lumby achievement diary, has an unlimited teleport to the cabbage field just south of the draynor allotment. just figured that'd be a really good way to get there, instead of a glory
lackattack101 3 years ago
I just got that ring yesterday, I shall have to try out that teleport. Thanks for the advice!
melsa3 3 years ago
how much xp did you get in that 8 mins?
someonewon 3 years ago
Im not sure of the numeric amount of experience, but since all I picked were avantoes in the video, Im certain it was not very much for that one trip. Yet not only did I receive farming experience, I also used them for making super energy potions, thus I received herblore experience too.
melsa3 3 years ago
do you make money farming avantoes?
someonewon 3 years ago
Yes, but you would probably make more money farming toadflax, rannar, kuarms, and snapdragons. Check out the daily herb and potion prices on the Grand Exchange to get a better idea of what seeds / herbs / potions would make you the most profits.
melsa3 3 years ago
Oh ok, I've been planning on getting 70 farming on my account(51 atm). I'll have a check on the prices the next time I become a member

how long did it take you to get 99?
themissing1 3 years ago
It took me 16 months, but this was prior to the additional farming patches, quests, shortcuts, and Grand Exchange. I think most people can achieve 99 farming easier and faster now.
