  • i think the Gibson les paul Std is the better. Warm tone and fat, it's perfect for hard rock

  • No tele?

  • Im probly the only 1 who likes the dirty sound of the sqiur

  • GIBSON SG 61 kicks ass big time here.

  • i don't know if anyone will understand me, but i think that a guitar, the more it sounds mechanic the more better, the more it sounds electronic the more it gets magic-less.

  • i like the bite of 61sg!

  • '61 SG reigns supreme here in my opinion.I like the pickups sound,a bit more pressure with clarity.

  • American Fender Deluxe. It has a thick bottom end without losing that Fender twang.

  • Gibson Les Paul Standard sounds much better

  • Gibson LP Studio is my fave! I think it sounds best!

  • Heres my Top ten. 1-Fender stratocaster. 2-Fender telecaster. 3-Kramer Striker custom fr 424 cm. 4-2010 Epiphone G-400 standard 62 Sg. 5-Epiphon limited edition 50th Anniversary 1961 Sg Reissue. 6-PRS. 7-Epiphone les paul custom 8-Epiphone les paul plus top 9-Gibson Les Paul standard. 10.Gibson Les Paul custom. There's my Top Ten.

  • my favorite is the fender squier bullet and the fender billy corgan was really good , the gibson sg 61 reissue was good too but I tough the hagstrom deluxe sounded really bad but thats just my opinion

  • Billy Corgan, 2nd is the 61 Reissue.

  • The gibson les paul standards the best number two is the fender strat deluxe and than the SG

  • les paul studio for that style riff

  • great job buddy, thanks! my fave is the fender billy corgan, haha!! :)

  • ive played a fender strat that was beefier than a les paul, and a les paul that sounded more like a tele. not all guitars of the same model will sound EXACTLY THE SAME. they all have their own "personality" or "fingerprint" if you will. best bet is to just sit and play and listen and feel all the guitars at a shop and pick your favorite.

  • Great job! Q: Did you record all these guitars in one sitting or over time?

  • the billy corgan strat sounds unbelievable, and im a gibson guy

  • @moreilly914 its those hot rails man!

  • @topdog2328 Dude, the Corgan Strat uses all Dimarzios. Hot Rails are made by Duncan.

  • @lampguy9400 sorry i wasnt specific enough for you -_-

  • the fender squier bullet sounded better of the lot IMO

  • the gibson LP standard sounds best to me.

  • the jackson is shit

  • no tele?

  • i really liked the sg 61 reissue

  • For me it's studio, standard, and fender american standard

  • LP Standard wins. The Billy Corgan Fender sucks big time. The Hagstrom sounds interesting. The Squier is a different beast meant for different things.

  • I was wondering... Do the flat bodies on guitars like the Jackson RR5 make them harder to keep a grip on? I'm a butterfingers, and I sure as hell don't wanna drop my first one.

  • i use an acdc style tone so i dont have any use for a fender and i dont like flatop guitars but alot of people do. this isnt a fair comparison in my opinion do anothe test in a funk style and everyone will be howling for the fenders good job on the vid tho i liked it

  • number 10 wins

  • Love the clearer crisp sound of an American strat

  • haha your samples are from thomann.de!

  • T H O M A N N ! ! ! ! !

  • Am I the only one who thinks strats are rather outdated? I mean come on, at least make humbucker`s standard somewhere on the guitar, or even start using compound radius fret boards, anything really

  • @mychem1914777 There are several versions of the Stratocaster that use humbuckers. However, there are still many guitarists, myself included, who prefer the single-coil sound.

  • Comment removed

  • @mychem1914777 have you ever heard of a fat strat?

  • @mychem1914777 Yes, you are. Some of us like single coils, and compound fretboards are a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. If you like flat fretboards, chances are you aren't going to be chording that much.

  • @Zubirrex Dude, compounds fix the problem of flatting out and plus, they allow for easier playing. Round with low chords, wide for high soloing. Therefore ease. And singles are crap dude. they sound thin, plus they have a major problem with 60 cycle hum

  • @mychem1914777 Dude, compounds are for sweeping nerds who think they need a compounds. People who really know how to play don't need them. Single coils have much more clarity than muddy as shit super distortion humbuckers. Concerning 60 cycle hum: they do make noise gates, you know, and when the entire band is playing, you aren't going to hear it anyway. Not everybody plays that drop C shit called metal these days, you know.

  • @mychem1914777 yea you are stats are legendary more than your daisy rock guitar no they dont need humbucker or compound radius fretboards they are fine and besides maybe some people like single coil bluesy tones instead of emgs that cant clean up. So why dont you go try to play crazy train with your daisy rock guitar and stop talking crap about strats.

  • @DistortionCrazy I like blues too dude, two, what does legendary have to do with quality? As far back as I remeber, Fender had their ass handed to them by CBS During the 70s. What does Crazy Train have to do with this? RR didnt even use EMGs dude, And I dont even use em myself. And Crazy train is one great song, why are you down talking it? All I`m saying that its been 50 damn years and these things havent changed a bit, it would be nice to see improvements on a guitar that cost $1,ooo

  • @mychem1914777 ok about crazy train im just saying that is the only thing kids learn or want to play. And emgs are what all the metalheads want to use and all im saying is that no one likes strats anymore besides the tiny little blues group of people and i hope people apprreciate them more again someday.

  • @DistortionCrazy dude, metal originated from blues, and your very much wrong. Most of the good musicians these days very much appreciate blues and its contrabutions. And theres a good reason strats arent that popular anymore, their out of date and very inadaquite. Plus they cost more than what their worth. Although I do agree with you on one thing, everyone is using EMGs and it is becoming a little ridiculous at this point

  • xD thomann

  • I was definitly serprised by the squire and actually prefered it to the fender american standard, but thats just my opinion. The squire was more beefy and had a higher output and the feder was more twangy and thinner.Personally I didnt think the gibson les paul standard was the best. Everyone always bigs up that guitar, but there are so many out there that it's about getting the right tone and playability for your style of music. Not just buying the instrument because everyone has it.

  • 'arguing on the Internet is like running in the special needs olympics. Even if you win, you're still retarded.'

  • @RandomSamStatic lol best comment ive ever seen

  • Personally I prefer the SG standard, but I like the thin neck on the '61. Also can the three trolls take their bitchiness elsewhere.

  • Liked all 3 Fenders including Squier. Wish I knew what amp and settings they used to record...

  • The Fender American Deluxe and the SG 61 were the best!

  • SG 61Reissue and the Fender American Deluxe are sweet, The SG 61 is my favorite. The Zoot Suit sounded horrible to me.

  • Fender All Tha WaY

  • Haha. Someones been to thomann lately, bit like myself :)

  • Les Paul Studio was clearly my favorite, the squire bullet sounded horrible.

  • GIBSON SG 61 IS MY FAV TONE

  • I thought the SG Zoot was the coolest, best vintage vibe. Squier did surprisingly well with distortion, my vote for sleeper in your test.

  • Better is Gibson sg"guitar 6", and Fender Billy Corgan "guitar7" o:

For solo -- Gibson Les paul standard :D

  • omg how can you make a guitar comparison video and not include PRS guitars among Gibsons?

  • Very usefull video!

Please, make another video, comparing Clean and Blues tones - as at least half of players use the clean tone more then the distorted one. Throw in an Ibanez and a Rickenbacker if you can...

I liked the american fender's "quack"... out of the HB guitars I liked the LP Studio the most.

  • The Gibson LP Studio has a nice crunch. :D

  • 1. Gibson Les Paul Studio

    2. Gibson Les Paul Standard

    3. Fender Billy Corgan

    4. Epiphone Les Paul Standard

    5. Fender American Deluxe

    6. Gibson SG 61 Reissue

    7. Gibson SG Zoot Suit

    8. Fender Squire Bullet

    9. Hagstrom Deluxe

    10. Jackson RR3

  • The Les Paul Studio was definitely the best

  • For me the best tone goes for the Gibson studio

  • the squier and epiphone's kicked ass

  • Personally preferred the Gibson Les Paul Studio (which surprised me). I thought I'd like the SG better to be honest.

I just like Gibson's beefier, steadier tone compared to some other brands. Nicer sustain too.

  • the best of it is definetly epiphone les paul (copy of the original gibson les paul, but its beter) :3

  • but the billy corgan wasnt my type of tone

  • lol, everyone is like, "the gibson sounded best, all fenders sounds terrible and blah bla"

it's all about your prefference in tone.

so they don't sound terrible, it just that you don't like their sound.

personally i like both fenders and the sg 61

but i'm more in love with the sg 61 then the fenders lol

    such a beautiful tone

  • The Billy corgan is way cooler than i thought and the bullet squier

  • The fenders and Jackson had more of a valen tone.

  • Conclusion: Les Pauls, regardless of brand, sound the best.

  • I personally liked the Fender American Deluxe and the SG 61 the best.

  • studio sounded best.

    RR3 sounded awful!

  • I liked either the SG 61 reissue or the zoot suit the best

  • the gibson studio sounded best.

    all the fenders sound terrible

  • Comment removed

  • the fenders sounded kinda dry nd hot

the jackson has a typical raw squealy sound on those pinch harmonics

the HAGSTROM is exotic as hell nd i can't even describe it exactly

and the gibsons have something rly dirty in them

every guitar's diferent but lets face it..its not what you play wich matter but how you play it!

  • I like the tone of the Les Paul Standard

  • Maybe one day people won't dog Squiers so much. They're really great for what you pay for one. Personally love the tone of my own '96 Squier Strat.

Believe it or not, it has a much fuller tone than my HSH Ibanez...which costs around $200 more.

  • holy cr*p! the zoot sounds sweet! i think it's time to have a closer look at GC! Thanks for posting this man!

  • i vote for the epiphone les paul standard

  • wow the gibson les paul hardly sounded any different to the epiphone version!

  • @3fast4u

You are a fucking earless wanker. You must have been have been hurled against a fucking wall as a child. The difference between the Strat and Squier is far less obvious, but the Gibby couldn't sound more different than the Epiphone.

Keep lying to yourself buddy. Or even better, get a fucking job and buy yourself a nice guitar. You will thank yourself for it!

  • @Carthsgtr well first off good job for calling a 14 yr old an earless wanker.i hope you feel better about yourself.=D the epiphone is a good alternate to gibson but for fucks sake everyone knows which is better you dont even have to say so im not lying to myself am i? i said "hardly different" not "no different". i dont give a flying fuck what you think about this so dont even reply.

  • @Carthsgtr I have Gibsons and Epiphones and they sound exactly the same!!!

  • @MrGeorgios2020

That is simply bullshit. Stick a video of them up and we shall see. This video is clear proof of the difference.

  • @Carthsgtr Man you aussies have no idea! I have been playing guitar much longer than you. I have Gibson Les Paul's and I have Epiphone Les Pauls and a 2 SG's and SG copies. I have spent hours comparing he difference and I have also asked friends to compare the difference. There is no difference!!! The build quality of the Gibsons is better but they sound the same!!!

  • @MrGeorgios2020

You are simply a fucking retarded deaf cunt. The fact that your friends agree mean think the same thing means nothing, as if they are as stupid as you are, they have invalid opinions. You should pick a building and jump.

  • @Carthsgtr What would you know about music? Your most popular group AC/DC left the country because you people don't have a clue about music. You are a musical snob like most aussies!!!

  • @3fast4u

I am 16. I get to call you an ass.

  • @Carthsgtr ok if you have too...............

  • @3fast4u

    Ass.

  • @Carthsgtr wth are u on about ? what did i do lol

  • Comment removed

  • @Carthsgtr haha ok. u dont have to look at mine dw.

  • @3fast4u Well, it is basically the same guitar.

  • @3fast4u the gibson had a little more bit!

  • FENDER. SQuIER. BULLET. AKA DONT FIX WHAT AINT BROKE.

  • @thephil69 sorry pal i didn't dig it what does it means with the bullet squiers?

  • I'm actually surprised that the Squier Bullet has a more "hotter" tone than the Fender American Standard. But I think that a cheap Squier would sound similar to an American Fender if you swap the pickups.

However, the best tone a guitar would get is with the player, a good player with a crappy guitar is better than a bad player with a fancy, US made guitar.

I like the '61 Gibson's tone the best though.

  • Zoot suit hands down. I love gibbon's and SG's especially, I was surprised to like the Zoot Suit more than the 61 reissue.

The Billy Corgan was also very cool, but its still a fender. lol

    great comparison. Thank you.
