I'd love to do ballet. I already dance but there is something about ballet. I'm 12 though and I feel like I'd have missed out. If only I'd started ballet at 4 instead of what I do now.
@OMcAdam99 If you already dance, you should start learning ballet... Btw I am 13 and I learn ballet almost 5 years. sorry if I wrote something wrong <3
I just made a really hard routine to this. It has some gymnastics in it with one hand because I broke my wrist but its hard because I am working on 1 hand handstand walk and doing an ariel on the floor... Sweating like heck!

I need some advice. I recently started ballet for the first time. I am very serious about it, and it is one of my lifelong dreams. I enrolled in a local dance studio, and instead of putting me in a beginners, they put me in a regular class. She said i was fine.....however i get so frustrated whenever i go, because the place does not feel very serious. I didnt know any of the basics, and they barely even correct you on technique. What should i do?
@burtonfan2499 First of all, you must choose a studio that is focused mainly on ballet and is serious about it. Avoid dance studios with many types of dance featured, like hip-hop, jazz, tap, modern, and lyrical, with ballet only being a choice, not really a central focus of the studio. Then, try taking a teen/tween beginner class (depending on your age) if they have those to offer. If not, look into taking private lessons with a GOOD teacher. This is a great way to pick things up! Good luck :)
thats also a big fear of mine :\ I danced for 5 or 6 years and then I had no choice but to quit due to family problems...and now I'm about to be 15 and im scared that i'm too old for it lol. So i'm just trying to choose what to do.
I started when i was 6 and am now 12 almost 13 and have done many different types of dance but have always done ballet and im not this good. I just started pointe a year ago and am in the most advanced but i always watch these videos to get my spirits up whenever i feel like im not that great since i cant do all of this stuff. somehow it inspires me more.. theres nothing i love more then dance (ballet)
I'm sad, i started when i was 13, and my plan was to never stop, but my parents made me stop :'( is there anything i can do to keep myself in shape? im 15 now,and id say ive grown alot!
YOU ARE NEVER TO OLD TO START!! i started at 13, really hesitant to how good i was going to be. Now i am one of the top students getting distinction over 90% for exams and i am 16. :) DO IT!
@ballerinagirl072 Here you say that you started at 13 years old, but in your channel you say that you started doing ballet at the age of 2 and a half.. Correct me if I've misunderstood something cause your words are quite confusing.
I'm 14 years old and I am truly touched by this form of dance. To be able to strive for something like that would make me so happy. Though I just got into and advanced school and I' not sure I could find the time. If I truly love this do you think I should try? Am I too old?
@TheTrueVelvet You are no were near too old to start ballet. I started ballet when i was 15 and I love ballet. I have just started pointe and I have nearly caught up to the level of the other people in my class. If you want to start ballet, then do it. Dont hesitate
@TheTrueVelvet no way. If you love it, go for it. As long as you are willing to apply yourself, you will never make it professionally if you don't apply yourself. I have been doing ballet since I was 3 but only a year ago did I start getting serious about it. I try my hardest with what I have. It's all about that: working with what you've got. Really, go for it!
@TheTrueVelvet You are never too old to start dancing! i am the same age as you, but my mum was 39 when she decided to do dancing :) you go girl!! ;D <3
@novideosforme123 well yes it is bad to dance out in the middle of the road, but as a profesh dance comp. they probably have plenty of old, broken pointe shoes that they can spare (a dancer can go through a pair of pointe shoes in days). As for taking care of your shoes, let them dry out after getting them all sweaty in class. It will make them last longer. oh and dont dance in the street xD
@CantoUcello You're not too old to be a fantastic dancer; I'm almost seventeen and I'm very seriously considering starting dance because it hurts me too much to watch stuff like this and know that I didn't try!
I really really wanna do ballet but I can't cause all the classes start at 630 and my dad getts home at that time so I have no ride to the dance place on time :P :(
@illjustleavethen You should get canvas. They're tons easier to point your foot in and when they're dirty, you can just chuck 'em in the washing machine :P Although leather stretches, they get smelly really easily and you can't really wash them. But it is your personal preference :)
@delorfinde Well, I personally don't have canvas ballet shoes but I am friends with lots of people that do have them and they have washed it in the washing machine and had no problems. Although, I'm not sure you can put suede in the washing machine :/ Unless it's fake... If it's got suede soles, then I wouldn't put it in the washing machine; I would clean it with suede cleaner xD

@TheAliep95 of course! it's just going to be a bit more difficult because your body is more mature and i got down in 1 month because my teacher told me that anyone can do the split! (we all know holding it there isnt comfortable.. so distract yourself! watch tv or a music video! good luck)
@Jessicaz2910 those are what are commonly referred to as hops en pointe. Not sure I've ever heard a real, technical name for them. That's just what they are and what they're called : )

im 13 and i do Ballroom dancing , i wonder if im too old to start because most amazing dancers start at age 5 or 6 and up. plus i wonder if ballroom dancing would help me . im taking up for the first time contemporary and im excited but i also fear that im too old.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE ballet. I used to go when i was younger but then i stopped because i started learning how to play the piano. I would really like to start again now, but i'm not slim enough :{

Hello dancers! (:
I have a question for you all.
I am a figure skater, so I am trained a certain way about my skates and stuff.
Isn't bad to go out on your pointe shoes in the middle of the road? Won't that hurt them?
And the same goes for simple ballet slippers?
I am looking into signing up for ballet on thursday, so I want to make sure I have some information on how to take care of my slippers.
(And do not worry, I know I wont be on pointe lol.)
(:

Heyyyy whoever cares enough to read this:) SO im pretty much OBSESSED with Anaheim Ballet videos. I've seen almost every single one!!! I did ballet when i was 4 or 5 for about...... 2 years? So not long. I want to start it up again, but there aren't any SERIOUS ballet schools where i live. If i have almost no training in ballet, but a lot of training in jazz, hip hop, and pom.... how long do you think it would take for me to get on pointe?? I know how to do fouettes, triples, etc etc.

im 13 and i do Ballroom dancing , i wonder if im too old to start because most amazing dancers start at age 5 or 6 and up. plus i wonder if ballroom dancing would help me . im taking up for the first time contemporary and im excited but i also fear that im too old.
