  • I do not understand why being 5'8 means Coria can't be a good player, or why someone even said he was on drugs >.>. I am Coria's hieght and I can serve at 110 on some of my good serves and I am not even better than most 4.0 players!!

  • Coria's game reminds me of Hewitt

  • si coria fuera mas fuerte psicologicamente, hoy estaria con 1 o 2 dos GS en el bolsillo!..Esos colores que el amaba para mi fue lo que los llevo a la debacle (river) (broma)..pero bueno!

  • Hey everybody, Nalbandian has a real talent in tennis, Coria was on drug during all his career. How a so small boy could play like this, he doesn t has the weight to do what he does. After his logical loss to Gaudio all the control were reinforced, that also the reason he stoped because he would never play like a world ranking without drug. Nalbandian has a real talent in tennis but he was not always motivated

  • @simplemonde WTF are you talking about? Coria had major confidence issues..if your referring to confidence as a drug Coria sould never score.

  • i ran out of breath just from watchin' those rallies.

  • chokers

  • Two of the most talented players (at least in the last 10 years or so) to never have won a Grand Slam. I never really liked Coria, but he should have won the French in 2004. Gaudio was a competent clay courter, but Coria was undeniably better. After that Roger and Rafa took over and his chance was gone.

  • damn, this is like a clay court match.

  • Some of the best tennis you ever gonna whitness here. Both players showing breath taking speed and technique. I'm from Buenos Aires and these kinds of highlights feel like pure pride. Coria, Gaudio and Nalbandian were 3 of the world's best 10 at that time. Pure joy.

  • @elboogero I agree accept I don't like gaudio....He was very arrogant.....

  • this vid helps me alot cuz it helps me beat pushers :P

  • coria just fell off the map completely didnt he? shame, i loved the hewitt/coria rivalry

  • Coria was so good for his size I mean the man is only like five foot eight and a hundred and fourty pounds and he could keep up with the best of them. It's a shame that he had to get discouraged after loosing that terrible loss in the french open to Gaudio.

  • @AndyRoddick70 Indeed. An average height for your everyday man, but perhaps on the shorter side when it comes to tennis. I still don't get why Brad Gilbert calls Davydenko a "little guy" at 5 foot 10. lol

  • @Ignozi Yeah im not sure, probably because we have guys like Del Potro, Isner, and Berdych who are giants, and he is comparing him to them.

  • @Ignozi man, im 5"11' and i feel short in everyday life, even shorter compared to professional tennis players. i think they say 5"9 is avg... lol it feels like most guys are taller than me

  • @AceGuitarR7 Well that depends where you live.

I mean at your height, you should be pretty darn tall if you went to China, Japan, Mexico, etc.

It's still above average in the US, UK, and France.

  • @AndyRoddick70 wikipedia says 5'9 160

  • @AndyRoddick70

Terrible in what way? That match is one of my all time favorites.

  • @dmh091 It was terrible for coria because he choked like no other. He was destroying Gaudio and then he got scared. He was up two sets to love and had match points, then he tightened up and ultimately lost. Gaudio was basically handed the french open title.

  • @AndyRoddick70

I don't agree. Gaudio fought very hard and fully deserved to win (my opinion). Coria did have cramps but even with the cramps was playing very well at times.

  • @dmh091 Yeah Gaudio played really hard but, i still think that Coria should have won the match.

  • @AndyRoddick70

And the 2 terrible finals against Nadal... I think those were just as bitter for him

  • @affenkeks Definitely

  • @AndyRoddick70 ferrer's better, ferrer maintains the position that Coria has in tougher competition. Coria's peak era had weak competition, after 05 was when the top 4 began to creep in. I use ferrer as example due to them having same height.

  • @gabe228 better no.

  • @gabe228 Yeah i agree ferrer's accomplishment of being a top 5 player at this day in age's competition is truly remarkable, especially for his playing style

  • @AndyRoddick70 At this day and age's competition? Outside of the top 3, who really are there to seriously threat for slams?

  • @gabe228 Ferrer better than Coria? How old are you? Coria was a genial player comparable to the likes of Nalbandian himself and the likes of Rios. Ferrer can't hold a candle to Coria. What an insult.

  • @MaratSafinVideos LMAO.. u mad bro? If you wana say pussy who retired, double faults 20+ times per match, lost in a grandslam final against one of the weakest player on the tour BETTER than Ferrer, then sure, that's your opinion. Nadal when he first came out in 2004 already beat Coria, it's pretty sad considering Nadal just came out and Coria was a veteran clay court specialist who couldnt win a french

  • @gabe228 Wow, I see that I've responded to the wrong child here. I won't make the mistake again but anyway. Ferrer can't make a grand slam final, let alone be up two sets and on the verge of winning. Coria won several prestigious clay court tournaments, what has Ferrer won? And it's not like Nadal is his only obstacle, he has been beaten by lots of players on clay. And Nadal beat Coria in 2005 when he won RG, as well as several other MS that year, strong knowledge.

  • @MaratSafinVideos and comparable to Nalbandian? not even close. Nalbandian was successful on all surfaces, Coria was strictly a one trick pony on clay where once again, couldnt even win the easiest french open final. Let's no go about insulting Nalbandian now, please?

  • @gabe228 Actually, both have similar career stats despite Coria retiring very prematurely. Couldn't win the easiest RG final despite the man who stood across the net having beaten NALBANDIAN convincingly in the previous round. Too funny. I'm done with you, cheers. And Ferrer beating Coria, lol, I'll be telling people that for laughs.

  • @AndyRoddick70

Coria was physically superior to Nadal. I believe both are drugged but it is certainly a spectacle to watch

  • @AndyRoddick70 Actually Guillermo was listed as 5'9 but then again I would take those stats with a grain of salt as they are self-reported. Yes, total agreement with you- Coria had a tremendous amount of talent. I would actually liken him to Rios and Santoro in terms of court craftiness. And he had one of the best droppers in the biz. Unfortunately, his confidence was shot after FO final and this affected his serve. Also being undersized he just couldn't hang with the big guns.

  • @sarasmilepiano Say what you want about Coria but his record proves that he had a gift for the game. 3 years in a row in the Top 10 and 4th round or better in all GS is no joke. Few tennis players can claim this.

  • @AndyRoddick70 Gaudio is the same size, actualyl! I do agree that it's a real shame what happened to both of them. Both of them weren't as strong mentally, but boy could they play, especially on the clay!! It was a joy to watch them play when they were at their best. What happened to Coria at that 2004 RG final is really sad though. From steamrolling Gaudio, to getting the nerves to cramps, to Gaudio starting to play much better to the the match points...Real shame.

  • really a great video, thanks for the nalby genius points.
