doesn't seem to be opening in Ubuntu 10.10, but it still worked just doing the other two.

I also made another change to get the wobbly a little faster (15 instead of 10)

To get this to work in 10.10 you need to install compiz addons from sypnaptic, there you can change it from 3 to 1.

"Save" tells me I dont have permission to edit the file.

"Save As" tells me The file cannot be opened for writing.

only libanimation.so and animation.xml is necesary to edit, and works very good in Ubuntu 10.10

I tried it out and I notice a bug - not sure if it's due to this hack though. To check: open up your file browser, then click something to do tabbed browing. On my system, the scrollbar in the new tab is missing. What about you?
