There's over 100 different versions saying different things about that scripture. Until the Reformation in the 16th century and in Roman Catholicism until the 20th century, that scripture was thought to mean "masturbators." Only in the 20th century has it changed as a reference to homosexuality.

In 1 Cor 6- If you researched it you'd see the original translation of where you say it speaks of gays "malakos arsenokoitus" Malakos- "soft" or "males who are soft". This word has been translated as "effeminate" (KJV), "homosexuals" (NKJV), "corrupt" (Lamsa), "perverts" (CEV), "those who are male prostitutes" (NCV), and "male prostitutes." (NIV, NRSV)

I suggest you check the history of gaylib starting with Ulrichs in the 1870s, rather than with Stonewall a century later, and you'll indeed find that all the main players, the "heroes" of gaylib were linked to aristocrats, powercircles or plainly government agencies.

Personally, I'm against any displays of pride. I don't hate everyone who is proud to be black, or gay, or patriotic, but it's just that people who were never oppressed and never picked on (whites and Americans specifically) are still proud. To me, displays of pride aren't to show victory over oppression, but rather to say that you think you're better than everyone else. @railgun According to which bible?? King James, New International Version, English Standard Version, The 21st Century King James Version, American Standard... There's over 100 different versions saying different things about that scripture. Until the Reformation in the 16th century and in Roman Catholicism until the 20th century, that scripture was thought to mean "masturbators." Only in the 20th century has it changed as a reference to homosexuality.

It's in recent years that it's believed to be about gays who's to say 20 years from now when another threat comes out the "understanding" wont change and it'll be used against another group of people. In 1 Cor 6- If you researched it you'd see the original translation of where you say it speaks of gays "malakos arsenokoitus" Malakos- "soft" or "males who are soft". This word has been translated as "effeminate" (KJV), "homosexuals" (NKJV), "corrupt" (Lamsa), "perverts" (CEV), "those who are male prostitutes" (NCV), and "male prostitutes." (NIV, NRSV)

@railgun ARSENOKOITAI - "abusers of themselves with mankind" (KJV), "sexual perverts" (RSV), "sodomites" (NKJV, NAB, JB, NRSV). So the words translate to speak of exploitive forms of sex such as cultic prostitution and pederasty and cannot be used in arguments against committed same sex relationships. They are two completely different contexts. I'll get into the other scriptures you cited later.
