Such a great game. I couldn't understand how underrated it was when talking with people online, until finally I realized most Americans only played the god-awful N64 version. No one I knew had that console at the time, so SW:Racer was pretty much a PC exclusive for me.

Loved this game back in the day. Maybe a new one for this generation's consoles is in order? The closest thing about is wipeout (which I love), but ep 1: racer was just SO addictive!!

When i enter the Gameplay the majority of the screen is White / Black, but the sounds and animations is still normally playing in the background

Ok. Your video card is too new. Typical issue with ATI/AMD cards. Get yourself something like a Rage GL card or a 440 SE PCI like I have.

or open you disc and click the setup with your right mous buten en go to compatibilieit then then select XP severs peck 2 or 98 ( instal your game in XP mode or 98 maby what you also cen do is 95 and start your game in 98/ 96/ XP but if you inspal in xp mode start the game in xp mode ) ( i hoob this wil help you )

@jemandize Install Xubuntu using "Install with other systems" option, after that, install restricted drivers from the preferences menu, then install Wine form Software Center , and run the game from Windows clicking on Windows partition icon on the desktop , and go to Program Files/wherever_is_the_SWGame/G­ameName.exe .

I miss playing this game. I have ps2, and ps3 now, so I have forgotten about it, but seeing you play this game makes me want to jump in my podracer for a little while. lol Thumbs up. You handle those turns quite well. Nice speed. I could never get ahead of Sebulba like that.

this game really was the shit back in the day...still would be if i could get the damn thing to work on my new computer. as im sure most of your have realized, the game got way too easy when your pods were moderately upgraded. a difficulty setting would have been great. i purposely downgraded all my pods when i beat the game just to make it more challanging and fun :) ie: jostling around in a big pack of pods straining to come out ahead

I love this game but it doesn't support 64 bit and I have Windows 7. Luckily though, a friend had an old machine with 98 on it so I'm going to set this game up in VirtualBox on my pc once I remember how to create the vmdk file I need. Great video, it brings back memories.

Graphically SW Racer PC is superior I agree with taht but the thing is still preferable for the n64 version you can play with two controllers if you put one into the first player port and the third player port they are use as the engines at once with a secret code.

Anyone know how to get this to run on a 64bit pc. I cant install the game grrrrr. (the installer is 16bit and 64bit OS dont allow 16bit.exe. I have the game on the N64 but all these new HD TV i have in my Student accomidation wont disply the N64 properly.

I can't help you with the PC version. But if you want the game to look better on N64 using and HDTV, try buying an S-video cable from GameStop. Makes it look more crisp. Also be sure to turn on hi-res mode in the game.

1.I own a real copy of this game but a certain "abandonware" site you might find this rom. It's a famous site.

2. Google is your friend. XP fix exists for this game. Don't care or know for the Windows 7 compatibility.

3. Rented the n64 version several times. A good version but still nothing compared to DC or PC version.

4.Skip a logi dual analog. TRUST ME. Get a logi dual rumble. MUCH SUPERIOR. Easy for me to surpass my own best times because dual analog is really choppy and it SHOWS. :(

@hentaiseeker Let me correct something, the hardware can play the game, is the old directx the issue, I manage to run the game using Linux (In a perfect way), the issue I think y is the Z or W Buffer, and I try to find some kind of solution for windows since then, but I as say, I run the game using a HD4870 and wine.

hey dude how did you get this game to work!!? im on win 7 on my laptop, i got it to install and load up nice, but when i press singleplayer screen goes black (while i should see the cantina intro) then i see slection menu, but no graphics! only the buttons and gren names. then i start race and i see white screen with only the shadow of my pod visible, can you please tell me how to get this game to work, i ve been looking to play this game FOR YEARS please help
