  • This pwns the HMC40, you look professional, its the same price, it has 2 xlr inputs without a 300 dollar adpater.

  • can you attach a lens to this cam?

  • You can attach 43 mm filters and lenses to it, for example a wide angle lens or teleconverter.

The lens itself cannot be removed or replaced without a screwdriver and nerves of steel :P

  • you can also put a 35mm lens adapter on it which will let you have really shallow DOF.

  • hmm i dont know what to get! hmc70 or hmc150?!

  • the hmc150 has better chips in it, better optical zoom and not just digital zoom like on the 70 and it's as sexy as hell.

  • The HMC 70 has 12x optical zoom...

  • smifis2K: What does sexy and hell have to do with one another? Your comment just doesn`t make sense, think about it. It would have been better to say," The 150 is extremely sexy." That makes much more sense. Your right though, the 150 is a better choice I believe. Have a great day!

  • What is your budget?

  • The 150. Trust me. It's worth the extra money. It has a manual focus ring and it works a lot better in low light.

  • What's the difference between AG-HMC70 and AG-HMC71??

  • It's the same thing. Just in different countries they call it different things.

  • Hi this would be something id like to get some day.

My question is would it be possible to make movies like the pros do with this cam? Or would i need a $30,000+ camera to do such a thing?

Im new to this stuff i have always been interested but never pursued this hobby cause of the cost :(

Ive seen this camera go for about $1500 new which is great,i like all the features.

meh why do i always pick hobbies that are so expensive? LOL :)

  • i think its more about technique than which camera...plus with software like magic bullet...you can really turn digital movies into a more film like quality...althought those 4000 dollar cameras are helluv nice:)

and dont let those still photo type cameras fool you...the new ones with video mode have awesome quality for around 1000 or so

  • a good one to look at is the sony hd1000 its like this cam but it is probly better

  • I hear you man. I would really like to have one to but I am currently broke.

  • well its all in skill and knowledge to produce a film. good stuff just makes it cooler.

  • I hate the AVCHD format and I wish Panasonic wakes up and introduce this same camcorder using HDV format.

  • HDV is all but dead because it is tape-based. XDCAM EX is another cup of tea.

  • Awesome Review!!! A+

  • Nice but why is it so big? There's no tape. This is close but no cigar - having 30p would seal the deal.

  • To make it look professional.

  • HMC150 has 30p, is the same price, and is smaller. Its the perfect camera

  • Its a pro camera its got to have some where to store all that hd

  • great. Thanks!!
