@JadyLester I just bought a house and FHA reported there was a Black spot on the ceiling in the coal room and it was mold . The guy who I hired doubted it was mold but treated it as it was. This is what was done.

Area was cleaned and scrubbed with Fosters 40-80 Disinfectant.

After cleaning with anti-fungal cleaner, the area in question was then

encapsulated with an anti-mildew based white paint.

You guys must realise that mould is in the air. You've been dealing with it all your life. Like you breathe in car fumes. Mould grows on plants.. I have "Black mould" On my windows .. But it only gets worse if i have the window open. I also always have my curtains closed& they're pinned too the wall. Theres a lil bit of this stuff in this house. But its usually where there has been leaks from rainy days or whatever... Noo serious symptoms yet .. There is an odor .

@Bigcot203 so if you don't believe in the Bible, then you wouldn't have known that the Bible passage @exodus21v20 quoted was from a full chapter on Leprosy. This verse has nothing to do with mold. If you don't know or believe in the Bible and don't know what its addressing, then don't put in your two cents. Christian Extremists have taken words too literally and have given the Bible and Christianity a bad rep. Research is key.

The scholarly translators of the NIV version put the heading of "cleansing for mildew" in the verses I quoted. Are you more qualified than a Bible scholar to determine the meaning of the Bible text? What are your credentials?

@exodus21v20 The key word you just said there is "translators" so its not fact, its a translation of what they believe is what it possibly means. And the other key works is "NIV version" New International Version".. which is re-written from the King James Version, which has been re-written from Aramaic language. So you tell me... its not about credentials, its about the version read and what kind of people re-translated to fit their bullshit.

Humidity levels above 55%. Well that's year round in FL and has been for centuries. Yet we don't die from mold here.  Want a FL black mold cleaning secret....BLEACH.

I am an expert on molds because I've had to live with them and have research them. Stachybotrys chartarum is the toxic black mold. Aspergillus Niger is probably the most common "black mold" you'll find(though there are others). While Aspergillus is not as toxic as Stachybotrys, it still needs clean up because it is still horrible for your health. But I hate the term "black mold" because they're are sooooo many kinds of mold that is black.
