The finger was invented during the war w/ france and england, and the french were outnumbered, but they had these bows that u fire using your middle finger, and when the english captured a french the english would cut off their middle finger and let 'em go ,so the french were flicking the bird at the english and shouting "WE'VE STILL GOT OUR MIDDLE FINGERS". Thats the story of the finger. learned that from my guitar teacher.
