@GlockenspielSAS Definitely the Ibanez. The Schecter has the better pickups but not the scale length of the Ibanez or the supreme neck.

My RGA8 should be arriving any day now. Everyone says dump the stock pickups but your guitar sounds really good. Do you intend on keeping the stock pickups or are you gonna swap them out?

@lancerambert To be honest mate, I think the stock pickups are fine, you just have to play with your amp a bit to get a nice tone, but that's the same with any guitar with any pickups I suppose.

I'm sure EMG's/Blackouts sound better, but these are better than average stock pickups I would say, the difference certainly isn't worth another £300 if you ask me.

@MrDanIsAnIdiot Cheers dude, literally man, all I'm running in this video is the guitar, through my noise gate pedal (Boss NS-2), then into the amp. On the effects loop there's just an Ibanez Delay pedal and then an EQ with a mid scoop setting on it.

Oh and my Amp is a Bugera 6262 2x12. :)

My only complaint is the blade selector. I got a Jackson DR 7 and I am so glad it has a Gibson style toggle switch =].

@kodoku42 Aye man, the stock pickups are suprisingly good, I was actually saving some money incase I needed to replace them with some blackouts. But they more than cut it. The EQ that's on the guitar is awesome too, not so much for cleans, but how many people are honestly buying this guitar for cleans anyway? :p

Lol, seriously stereotypical. There are very versatile 8 string players style wise but I among many others play mostly distorted tones with it :D

They wouldn't have put a mid scoop switch in it if it wasn't meant for metal. :p

@GuitaristJoel i wouldn't say i have massive hands, but i don't have super small hands either. 6 string necks feel a tid bit too small on me, i'm jumping from a 6 string to an 8 string lol big jump. i'm excited to take it home! should be in about a month or less. what is your set up for amp and all that shit? i will be running my 8 through a line 6 spider II 30 watt single twelve, maybe with a zoom GTII 707 multi effects processor experimenting with that and stuff.

I'm running a Bugera 6262 2x12 with a NS-2 both before the input and on the FX loop also, along with a Boss EQ pedal and an Ibanez DE7 both in the FX loop.

I'd definitely invest in valve amp if I was you, spiders are nassssttyyyy.

@GuitaristJoel meshuggah use line 6 pod x3 pros live and for recording, which for most part use the same amp models as the spider. line 6 really aint bad

From memory, Meshuggah use pod x3s for recording ideas when they're working on them before production, but their sound is predominantly Mesa and Marshell valve amplifiers. They may use X3 lives for effects and such, but they certainly don't rely on the x3's amp modelling. More over, there is a pretty big difference between the modelling used in the Spider series and the pods. I say this as a frequent Pod user (for all my recording).

@NeedsMoreDjent nah a couple of my friends watched them at download last year they used the pod x3 pro on stage. fredrick thornendell hes even talked in interviews about how they take the pod x3 pro right in to pa system i can vouch for this as iv read those interviews my self. also i have used the spider amp series in past as my old guitarist had one and i can tell u that it did in fact have many of the same amp models as the pod
