To all you guys out there arguing about Porsche vs Ford: do you really think any of the cars in this video have anything in common with street cars? They are completely different to their road-legal equivalents, don´t let the ads from the respective companies tell you otherwise... (Apart from the engines, and those are modified to a degree where comparing them to the standard cars is equally daft) Perhaps 20 Percent of that Ford GT are actually made by Ford (bodywork and half the engine)

This may be a stupid question but does anyone know why on the long straight, the GT went from side to side on the track? The Porsche followed too so I guess the GT wasn't blocking him?
The driver of the Ford GT was trying to stop the Porsche slipstreaming, which is where the car behind takes advantage of the hole in the air the car in front creates to gain extra speed and 'slingshot' past on the straight.

Not only does he have to worry about what's in front of him, cars/lanes/corners, he also has to worry about blocking the Porsche behind him. The porsche only had to worry about whats infront of him and how to overtake. In bumper to bumper situations, the one following has the advantage.

The fords are much heavier than the porsches, which is why they need a supercharged v8, and the porsches dont need a supercharged v8 because they are so light. and it makes you seem totally ignorant if you couldnt figure this out on your own or if you were that lazy to get up and do a little research, fords are very good race cars, look at the gt40
if you knew anything about racing, forced induction, turbos/supercharger are NOT allowed for larger displacement engines...so the Ford GT GT3 or GT1 versions don't race with with SC'ed 5.4, but with race prepped 5L Cammers...the 911 GT3 RSR's flat 6 generates about 465hp or so but as u stated is lighter, the Roush-Yates prepped cammer makes about 525hp but is heavier. different tracks suit different cars and it jus so happens that today, the Porsche won.
Sorry for that, but the Nürburgring 24H is the wrong place for AUDI.

There were 4 Audis. But if they had won, it would only be cause they restricted the porsches. The porsches are restricted to take less fuel and in longer time.
