Man, both when you hear this in 1 and 2, you know everythings going to go to hell, in Disgaea 1 it was the most tough as bloody nails battle in the whole storyline (unless you were an Item World leveler, but if you played the game without training in there, it was rock hard), while in Disgaea 2, it signalled Laharl bringing his Overlords Wrath down on everybodies head.

What qualifies him as a "bad guy" (enemy) is the only level where you fight him in that tower, or axel mode at the end. Hes by no means a "bad guy", just a spoiled overlord looking out for himself... And we love him for that.

Something really amazing happened during this battle for me, my level 19 thief was able to steal his majin armor on a 1% chance that I would get it. I was so siked (sp) afterward and now I can just send out Adell to kill EVERYTHING, literally.

I had no chance at beating him, it was the first story battle and Adell was only about level 50 if I remember correctly (laharl being level 1200), within the next seven or so stages he has jumped 20 levels after equipping the Majin Armor.

Absolutely true...I've not played the game yet and I deeply regret that, but even so seeing him in parts of cut scenes and cameos he's one of the better RPG characters ever. So many RPGs give their mains limited/no personality, starts them off sucking/doing annoying things, or makes them excessively cliche'd. Poor Harlie. He gets all this epicness to him in the main story, then during the recruit scene he gets reduced to a poor, abandined overlprd that gets beat up by Adell and co., with Etna there to laugh in his face. There's also another overlord that's supposed to be stronger (Mao in Disgaea 3) after Laharl became the strongest by defeating Baal the first time. So sad. He's the coolest overlord though.

Well killing the Seraph was 'technically' registered as the normal ending, considering they expected us to end up killing at least one of our own men on the battle field.

The Good Ending where Flonne becomes a Fallen Angel is considered the "True" ending of the game.

Also if the Normal ending was really canon, then Laharl couldn't actually be in Disgaea 2 because he sacrificed his own life at the end.
