Great memories. We were there. The Torch was for me the real deal. Still got my badge! when those soussan instrumentals were being played at Wigan ..I had nightmares and called it a day. Stay faithful. Thanks
Great Sounds, I missed out on the Torch . Went to Casino first two years never forget those times. I still get the tingles at the back of my neck when I hear the sounds.
Great stuff - Its the venue that does the most for me - Wish I had taken photos back then and never gave away my tapes that I did back then, Most of them were of Alan Day blocked off his head going Blah-blah-blah-blah Fathers Angels, which got everyone going!
"The Torch" kept the faith much more than the Commerciality of the "wigan Casino" of the latter years, probably made you feel like it may have felt down at manc 60's" Twisted Wheel".Early Wigan good 'til shops tried to dictate the fashions & the T.V. (Turn the lights on) fiascos,a real Soul Night north of Watfords Funky Southern Soul nights.
good work, the journey continues, is the next stop Station Road?, i wonder, or maybe Central Drive or maybe a different road altogether, with the wealth of Northern Soul History you wont go down a cul-de-sac!
Came back for a second helping to finish work on a high. Can't remember who sings the last track. Great memories. Thanks
