Its annoying going to the record store to talk about the 1968 original press and having the guy tell you that there are no originals in playable condition and trying not to tell him that you own one because then you will piss him off even more because he is an expert who knows nothing about what he is talking about
its so weird because i have never heard a complete album by jimi hendrix, except for valleys of neptune . i never knew how much other styles hendrix made and how much better they were produced than most tracks i know.
I dont know what all the arguing is? Until there is someone that can play with their teeth, behind their back, left handed with a right handed guitar while on 10 fucking tabs of acid better than anyone else no one will ever be better than Jimi Hendrix. No one can argue this point.
@porkermcgee To be fair, playing behind the back is possible for most decent guitarists; and playing single notes with the front teeth is do-able and being a fan of the meistro I have done both. As for playing a right-handed guitar upside down, he changed the strings around so that the bottom E (ie the deepest note) was near his chest and the top E was near his waiste. As for the acid,10 at once is questionable unless it was a top-up after relentless daily use. But we love the guy!
@porkermcgee But as I said, the 10 acid at once may well have been taken due to tolerance build up after very frequent use. If you've ever taken acid then you would know that the more regularly you take it the more you have to increase the dose. And it depends too.on the level of dose in each tab or blotter. A person only needs so many micro-grammes to trip.
@porkermcgee You know all the reasons you pointed out trying to make Jimi seem like the best, none of them were valid. The reason hes the best is because he made poetry with guitar. The guitar was almost a part of him. Don't think for a second that Jimis flashy tricks made him the best because there was so much more to him then that.
can u upload that indian song. i forgot the name. there are two versions here on youtube but i cant find my favorite version. i hope u know what im talking about. thanks
@NANDO218 Well, your comment had a little fault in it. Castles Made of Sand definitely has Hindu-Indian edges to it, and If 6 Was 9 is practically a Native-American acid trip. I'm Cherokee, so it'd be interesting to know of the song in question. It's always fun to find more music made by Jimi. The man was such a badass, a lot of his work is still coming out--40 years after his death! I hope vinyl makes a comeback and that they release Valleys of Neptune on record. Vinyl is so original, man.
@Transformers2themax its called kpfa tapes cherokee mist 2. im listening to it right now. its great. how pure is your cherokee blood? thats cool. im fascinated with native american culture. i was watching the last of the mohicans earlier. lol. check out the other versions of cherokee mist also. i think it has even more of a native american feel to it. the song is like 7 minutes long just in case you cant find it. they are all good though
@NANDO218 Like Jimi, my Cherokee blood is not straight up pure. I have some of it on both sides of my parents as well as some Gaelic. My skin is tannish white. However, if you look at me carefully, you can sort of tell I'm Native-American. I'm very proud of my heritage, considering that I am an original American! Lol. But yes, I too am very interested in the Native-American culture. I'm also very interested in the original black culture, Cajuns, Asians, Jamaicans, Indians, etc.

@NANDO218 Just listened to all of them. Out of the three, I'd have to say that the first is the best, in my opinion. Being quite familiar with Cherokee tribe music(Not necessarily through my family but good research), it sounds more authentic to me. I love how it keeps to be psychedelic but at the same time, it's like a Native-American spiritual channeling. I wasn't expecting it to sound so original. I love it. Now I have to include it on the soundtrack of the Vietnam War film I'm screenwriting.
Never gets old hearing this. Complex, beautiful, rich in melodious tone and astral beauty. It makes me cry to think of the music we didn't get to hear due to his untimely demise. People are still trying to catch up with all their electronic wizardary in the studio with what the Maestro did in 1960s with just a 4 or 8 track soundboard. thank you Mr. Hendrix. R.I.P and grace and peace to all who read this.
@bbqeatinbuckeye jIMI HAD EM COVERED MAN...ALL I NEED TO SAY....HE WAS ALWAYS TRYING TO GET A NEW SOUND...WOULD HAVE KEPT ON DOING HIS THING BUT HE DIED...SAD DAY!
When Jimi was in london he fucked so many beautiful white women he was a god of the guitar Nigel and chas were there in the house we got our share only because we made the world wake up to my friend forever, Chas
I think this was his best album . Although Are you experienced and Axis not far behind. I had a high school gym teacher who smoked weed and turned me on to Jimi. He would play this on his 8-track! To me it was the coolest. He thought Hendrix was too "heavy" for us to listen to . Probably right lol!
The best two minutes and nine seconds of my life...I love you Jimi. You're my inspiration. I'd never pick up a guitar if it wasn't for you. You're the greatest
Curtis Mayfield was a definite influence on Jimi Hendrix. Jimi played Gypsy Woman(a song that was covered by Curtis Mayfield) at Woodstock. It's that chitlin circuit touring before forming his own band that made him such a great rhythm player.
@sharpstat Hey thanks for the reply and agreeing on the Curtis influence! Your right on about that chitlin circuit rhythm playing. Most of those players had strats too.
@motlencore89 You do know I was being sarcastic right? Back in high school in the early ninety's I used to trip my fuckin balls off to this cd..especially the song1983..the noises at the end, it was hard to tell if the cd was still goin, cause I would keep hearing the sounds for another five minutes...I remember watching multi-colored rain drops bounce up from a steamy black top..swirling colors of mist...I miss those days..who's got some doses??
@EclipseIMagmaICamo You hit the nail on the head, bro. @nail3r is probably sucking on his own balls as we speak.........right after listening to another Hendrix masterpiece....lol

@xXSpartan150Xx how bout "south satern delta?" the version that's on a double disc outtakes album i used to have. the cover is red and he's on it. have any idea what i'm talkin about?
@xXSpartan150Xx Well I would love to hear the original voodoo child from this album. The song voodoo child (slight return) was great but the Long soul touching original from this album is in a league all by it;s self.
I wish I was around when Jimi Hendrix was still alive. It would have been an amazing experience to see him perform in real. I hate just having recordings of him, I wish I saw the true beauty he brought and displayed while performing. I wish I saw the magnificent sounds he brought out in the guitar. <3
how can people really i mean possibly bitch and complain in their comments when this song is on? if jimi knew people would be bitching and complaining over his own music, i would assume he would of stayed far away from youtube completely. how can you not just get lost in this song?? idk, i geuss im the minority but when i clicked on this song, i didnt expect the comments to be bitching and complaining.. i expected the opposite.
Listen I've listened to and loved Hendrix for around 5 years, also love SRV. i play them both on the guitar too. For around 5 years also played nothing but Hendrix and SRV.
Let me tell you something. Despite all of this, there is nothing more annoying than a diehard Hendrix fan. You guys suck. Nothing is good enough for you guys and I just wanna tell you guys, you can suck my balls.
@nail3r Nothing is more annoying than a clown that says he's been playing nothing but Hendrix(and SRV) on his guitar(fucking lie..you probably play Black Sabbath and Van Halen as well!) and than turns around and says he is annoyed by diehard Hendrix fans. You really need to only look in the mirror for a loser to hate upon you hypocritical douche bag!
This is beautiful. This man wasn't human.

@xXSpartan150Xx Thanks for this beautiful post! This has always been one of my fav Hendirx songs. Love the "Impressions" influence in the vocals.

this song mixes all my favorite types of sounds. i've always loved it. Motown-ish blues-rock with real singing. this is a true soundtrack to life

how can people really i mean possibly bitch and complain in their comments when this song is on? if jimi knew people would be bitching and complaining over his own music, i would assume he would of stayed far away from youtube completely. how can you not just get lost in this song?? idk, i geuss im the minority but when i clicked on this song, i didnt expect the comments to be bitching and complaining.. i expected the opposite.
