Yeah, we should definitely integrate medicine that works with medicine that doesn't work. The results aren't yet variable enough. Let's make jobs for sub-par practioners of pseudo-medicine!
Has anyone ever tried 100 percent pure cocoa? It's really bitter and doesn't taste too good -- I think one of the reason chocolate is so addictive today is because of the added sugar.

I didn't think Kevin Rose know what he was talking about with his blogs with Tim Ferriss. Seeing this, shows not only that he got to meet with one of his greatest role models, but that Kevin is authentic.
Thanks Kevin.. I learned more in this 1/2 hour about health than I have all Year.
I used to to like Dr Weil until I figured out he has an agenda - he has his own line of vitamins, hence the constant recommendation to take daily supplements.
@skateebee if you recall, he said the brand of supplement was not important. He has his own line of vitamins because he has to make money some how, but he never mentions his brand in this video. I believe the health advice he gives here is fairly objective.
GREAT interview!!! Loved it...fascinating about the sockeye salmon, how it cannot be farmed...did not know that! But I've been receiving Dr. Weil's e-mails every day now for a few years...he's awesome! Very good questions...thank you!
KR you seem to be a very informed young man. I would like to hear your personal assessment of the interview. What exactly did you take away from this dialogue.
@crispedfuture Dr Weil is quite Scientific actually, he's just open to new data even if it debunks the old. Sometimes he's going on hypothesis but he generally tells people when he does that.
Really surprised Kevin didn't chime in when Dr. Weil was mentioning matcha tea. It shows he's a good interviewer that stays on topic and leaves the talking to the interviewee.
Thank you Kevin. That was a very informative and positive interview. I once believed that the FDA protected us from the hazards of the food industry, but its come to my attention that we should all be more educated on diet and fitness in general. I used to think the Europeans where a little nutty with their stance on food, but now realize we all have to be more responsible for what we put into our bodies. After all, what is more important that your own well being?
I think a huge number of them do - I don't think it is very possible to eat a lot of processed foods and avoid high fructose corn syrup at the same time
For eye strain and general visual health concerns regarding a lot of computer use, please consider installing Workrave or a similar program. Throughout the years, I have trained myself to perform the eye exercises regularly during my geek day, but a program that reminds you when to take a break (and in this case provides simple exercises for your eyes and body to reduce strain and RSI) is crucial to sedentary computer workers like us.
Interesting, but this doctor has been criticized by Dr. Arnold S. Relman for his "rejection of some aspects of evidence-based medicine and promotion of alternative medicine practices that are not verifiably efficacious", according to Wikipedia.
It's also interesting that "evidence based" experts also condemned ALL fat. Now "evidence based" experts say that some fat is good. I could go on and on on how many "evidence based" claims were made and how many of these "evidence based" claims were rejected by other "evidence based" claims, but 500 characters isn't enough to do so.
Take everything you read and hear with "a grain of salt". If it's "evidence based" it could be just based on what little evidence is there at the time.
Well, no. My point is that sometimes ALL the evidence isn't there. So we (I do this too, it's human), make assumptions based on what we see - even if it's completely wrong.
That's why I keep a health journal. If I feel like crap, regardless on what the experts say, I simply don't ingest it.
It also depends on WHO does the study. That explains why in the same week, coffee is both good for us and bad for us. There's also the fact that what's good for one could be bad for another.
