To anyone interested in Analog Angel, the debut album is called Dischord and it will be available for purchase soon. It has 10 amazing songs and any of those songs could be singles, they are that good! I think anyone who likes Depeche Mode will be truly surprised with the quality of Analog Angel debut album.
se non fossero partiti con l'idea di assomigliare il più possibile ai DM forse avrebbeso avuto qualche possibilità di diventare dei buoni artisti seguiti da un pubblico numeroso
the TTF comment is partially wrong. Three members weren't in TTF or Thru The Fire (although Dr Strangelove did support Thru The Fire once or twice) but were in a band with Jon Campbell of TTF circa 1986/7 called Professor Product. Jon Campbell sang in a Midge Ure style.
So, the info is partially right. Right person, wrong band.
The track was recorded in Sheffield if I recall (I may be wrong) and the mono compressed mix on the video does not compare with the originals full stereo mastering.
it is a good song but it does not by any means be compared with dm the song it to simple no layers the guy has the voice a bit like dave but the main reason that i knew i was not dm was the quality as i said before no layers no good fx pannings and it was no mistake the whole in chains thing they simply took advantage and knwe everybody wanted to hear the new dm album thats why i dislike them there are other means of showing your music other than jumping on the dm train btw check out p.words

Jesus, whats your problem, Im truly one of the biggest Depeche fans and I admire that this band have songs of this caliber, this song is up to par to Depeche Mode.
Dont be a fan boy and recognize quality regarding who creates it
I think Analog Angel is original. They don't sound like DM these days. Have you heard Shadows or High Heels...?? Yes, John sings in baritone and he has an amazing British accent. Yes, their songs are dark but they don't try to be DM. They have their own style of music which I think differ from DM...
I cant download "consecuences of yesterday" son from your website, when I click on download, the link redirect me to another web site and start playing but dont give the option to download it, can you please send it to my email?
The Depeche Mode comparison is a valid one but remember Analogue Angel sound like the DM of yesterday (which is what i miss about DM). If you listen to DM's newer tracks and then their older tracks which do you prefer?
Personally i miss the old DM and i am sure that Analogue Angel will fill the gap that DM left behind. Hope that makes sense.
same here... Analog Angel brings nostalgia with their catchy and dark songs. It's something that a lot of people are looking for in music there days. Hope some you guys who live in Glasgow area will see them live at PIVO PIVO or The Box.
Check out the Analog Angel website and listen to "High Heels", "Consequences of Yesterday" and of course "Why Do You Do". I was very impressed by them.
I also want to say that Analog Angel AREN'T trying to be DM. They just like dark electronic music so they will have people put a DM label on them. If you want DM cover band then go check out a DM cover band. Then come back and listen to Analog Angel when you have had your fill.
Forgot to say - I was recommended this on the DM site HOME. It is getting (mostly) good comments on their forum. Any DM fans watching this; get yourself onto HOME - the best DM forum around!
Superb!! JBpollok - were you the singer in another band from Glasgow in the late eighties? I think it was called The Quiet Time. Another electronic band but not as much like DM. If so, I saw you live in Glasgow and you were tremendous - should have made it to bigger things!
The sounds on this track are good and the vocals are tremendous!
GraniteCity. I was in a band called The Quiet Room so I guess that is the same one. Thanks for the comments. For your info - I have got back together with one of the guys from TQR and we are putting some stuff together. The other ex-member actually stays in Aberdeen (your way?) now.
I also would like to say thank you very much to JBpollock who sent me MP3 of Dr Strangelove ( named as Machina here )and his own songs as well. I recommend JB's demo to everyone who likes EBM/industrial/electro music. Perhaps, someone will persuade JB into publication these tracks on myspace? It shouldn't be hidden on his hard drive, don't you think??
recommended this by someone on the DM board. What a good shout it was - this is SUPERB!!
Would love the chance to see this band live - pity they have split up!! I get the feeling they would have been excellent. Anyone on here that knows them - get to work!
Next time Dave Gahan is sick - get this guy to fill in for him :-)
woah this is awesome! It really does capture the vibe of depeche mode from the black celebration era. I also raise my hand in request for an mp3, very catchy song and yeah even the video looks like Anton did it haha.
What band IS completely original? Even the mighty DM have ripped off a few of their influences. This only one song from this band - God only knows what they would have gone onto sound like.
We have reformed under another name. Our website will be up and running next week. We have reworked this and written some new stuff - all will appear on the website next week.
Hey John, remember me? I made the dodgy video all those years ago..... I guess if I hadn't, it wouldn't be on here! Bloody amazed at the huge amount of response on this. Hope you're doing ok.
I know. When i first heard it my first question to Robert (the guy in the leather jacket) was how did they manage to get Dave Gahan to sing on it? They sound soooo similar.
Hi, I'm a member of the band Machina. Thank you for your comments. I'm happy to see that there are still people out there that liked the sound we produced. New material is on its way! Someone going under the name Kwerkmode is distributing tracks from our demo -- THEY DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION! If there are people out there interested in band information or the old demo please contact me direct. Thanks Machina
Nice song, sweet and dark. These guys look a lot similiar to depeche. In one of shots there seems to appear Alan Wilder ;). I really like them, sad to hear there is no released material. I want the demos, could you send me a link??
Very great song, If it had been released as a single, I had surely bought it. Keyboard parts are very melancholic and sad with a hint of hope from times to times, exelent !!! Nice flat top too.
Even though the DM influence is quite strong, I would have loved to hear what Machina would have developed into after a few albums.
Followers of Camouflage probably know what I mean. The last two albums by Camouflage were SPECTACULAR. The guys finally absorbed the DM influences and became something all together their own.
Who knows, it might have happened to Machina as well.
Satyanass, anything else on that demo you can post?
I still keep in touch with Robert (the keyboard player). According to him, they all went their separate ways shortly after the demo. Robert still dabbles with songwriting and making music but just as a hobby.
I really think that the band would have got somewhere. When i first heard the song i was blown away. I actually thought that they had persuaded Dave Gahan to sing for them.
WOW, I was informed of this by one of the band members, John Simm, who I now have the pleasure of working with, Simply Fantistic ! Satyanass, Can you possibly get those MP3's to me somehow ? Ive had a taster, and now want MORE !!!
O.M.G. I shot and edited this all those years ago! A bit primitive looking now, but I only had very basic equipment at the time. Maybe I should look it out and tidy it up a bit?
All the new tracks (and the old ones) are available at the official band website
New album is available on cd and download from the band website and also at Glory & Honour Records

They are NOT jumping on any DM train - check the date when this video was put on YouTube. More than a year before the release of DM new album.
Also, the song/video is almost 20 years old.
Check out the new material before judging.
There is another version on here where the person who put it on as "In Chains" has apologized for her mistake.
Some people should check their facts before posting!!
JBpollok 2 years ago 5
Excuse me Viggo. Where does it say that this is DM? If you look at the title..."Depeche Mode-esque". Meaning "a bit like DM".
The video was put up over 2 years ago and was made during the mid 90's so that makes it at least 15 years old. Same age as your mental age?
Let's hear one of your tracks then?????

Very great song, If it had been released as a single, I had surely bought it. Keyboard parts are very melancholic and sad with a hint of hope from times to times, exelent !!! Nice flat top too.

Not bad.

Sorry nothing more to add about the demo.
All that i know has already been said.

O.M.G. I shot and edited this all those years ago! A bit primitive looking now, but I only had very basic equipment at the time. Maybe I should look it out and tidy it up a bit?

better than mode. quite simply superb. does not sound dated. song writing at its very best.

It's an amalgam of Depeche Mode and Camouflage without the catchy tunes.

It's like Dave's afterbirth...cool.

music is ok, but these guys need desperately a personality of their own.

I loved this demo when I first heard it and I dont give monkeys ass if the singer sounds like Dave Gahn or not as the tunes great!
Let's here more, more more more I say!
This puts Devision, Mesh and Camouflage in the shade!
PS This section..
"They also enjoyed some success as The Time Frequency (TTF)" That part was wrong.

Well said JonCantSpell. I think it is great. It sounds like early DM to me. I get all nostalgic when i hear this one.
