Oh so the choking pressure comes from you plowing your shoulder up. No wonder i couldn't choke the person.
Is that the same way to apply pressure when doing the head and arm triangle too?

Yea, the shoulder + the angle of the arm under his head... that's what creates the power in this move. Avoid over-using biceps strength!
