in which language is she singing? because i saw some chinese characters like tian, bu and ren (in mandarin) but it sounds totally different when she sang them. tian sounds like kan, ren like lan and bu like bui.

A dialect in southern parts of Fujen province. People in Taiwan, Xiamen, Ziang-Zhou all speak this dialect. I spoke this dialect in Kaohsiung, Taiwan until I became university student in Taipei. I speak Mandarin and English now. I still like these songs.

Thanks for your answer. So people in Taiwan speak this dialect (Fukien/Hokkien/Min Nan?) but also Mandarin right? Because once there were 2 girls from Taiwan doing a class at my university so I said ni hao (trying to act cool like I speak Chinese hahaha) and they said they didn't understand what I was saying. I couldn't believe they didn't understand because I watch Taiwanese series and those are in Mandarin.

"Li ho" is Cantonese, right?

"Li ho" is Min-Nan.(Or He-Luo, or what you said like Fukien) For Cantonese, you can say"Le Ho". Pronounced alike, but the tones are totally different. XD

I used to listen to her mandarin songs in the 80s. Along with Tang Shiaushi and Chiyi they were dubbed the 3 heavenly vocals. Bohemian style. Came 90s she diminished from the scene rapidly believed not to have a good manager to further her career. Pity.
