I think i might be able to get a little more in crease with a step up transformer instead of the standard step down that creates the average 120v plug in but you could have a 240v but most dont so how do i get that much power from a house? Did you tap the power line or ??????

@chudaluver1 you could just use a step down transformer in reverse. so say you have a 120v to 12v transformer you hook up the 12v side with the 120v mains. but this probably won't get you 12kv and is dangerous. so....i'd suggest you look into flyback transformers. 12kv+ is a walk in the park with those, but they need a driver circuit.

oh and tapping power lines is a VERY bad idea! (if you don't want to DIE that is)!
