Very good vid indeed. The pictures may have been recent, but the idea is well conveyed. Very proud people. Keep up the good work. I am also proud to be an Igbo man.
Iam not nigerian,I am from Congo. But this is esthetically fantastic.Igbos should promote young designers who will draw their inspiration from their own traditions
For crying out loud it is spelt IGBO. Ibo is the western spelling of the word. If one is gonna stay true to the igbo tribe, at least spell the word correctly sheesh!!!
blesssed!!! as an ibo woman( fatha frm okpanam), im learning more about what this culture is,how beautiful for you to put this together,r u ibo also? pleases let me know if u hav a myspace or so, love, lite n peace
jantamanta, i see ur point, however, this is a difrnt case from the pronounciation of tomato, the pronounciation of egbe must be right ortherwise, u cld b tlking of a gun or a hawk.
Maximum respect to wulfichan for making this video and also for updating the title from ibo to include Igbo.
NativeOfAfrica:- exuse my ( Igbo )spelling in advance. You make a very good point how the dialects have some words that mean totaly different things. My mother is from Illah (should be Allah) Delta North near Asaba ( Ahaba ). She grew up in Owerri. Now in her dilaect buttocks is 'ike'. But when she was in Owerri, she said they will say something like "ike kara gim" as a greeting or something. Again my spelling is probably wrong. In her town people thought why say my "ass is greater tham me"..lol
jantamanta : well written. I could not have explained it any simpler or better. Igbo/Ibo share the same culture with some differences but we understand ourselves.
Does anyone know about the exodus from the Benin kingdom towards the East and I think stopping at Onitsha. I will post more once i get the dates and names and Ruler. Anyone heard of EZECHIME? Adila298 i think Okpanam dont quote me..maybe ask your dad is part of Ezechime. Chime fled Benin Kingdom towards Delta North.
I will urge you to check ur facts, the pictures must be from 1970s or even 80s.
You see, before 1960, there were few color fotos in Nigr, there was sepia tone and black and white. also the gas mast is also evidence that the villagers had contact with an air force aircraft which had crashed,
so, it must have been collected after 1970 and couldnt have been used until 5 to 10 yrs after 1970 for fear of govt repraisal.
Yeah that air force aircraft head gear caught my attention too. We igbos claim that our founding father(Eri) descended from the sky. This myth is not unique to the igbos; many other indegenous groups claim same. Though our conventional history says we are descendants of Eri who was one of the sons of jacob and that our settling in the southeast nigeria could be traced to the exodus. This doesn't necessarily contradict the myth.
The video is ok, there is also a masqurade wearing a pilots high altitude breathing mask, this is probably from a dead pilot from the massacre of our people btwn 1966 and 70. Ibo is a bastardisation of the word IGBO , the British couldnt pronounce Igbo, so they called us Ibo, try it with a non Igbo speaker, and most will still fail to pronounce Igbo, they will say IBO.
Damn I feel so ashamed with this dialect. I find i can understand when listening but reading words is what i want to improve on. Can you give me a translation and correct mine. This is what i understand in general. Igbo uplift yourselves, the way it is, ubochi? the little we do. achua na owelle Nchi? I dont understand. But I find in Delta North Aniocha and Oshimili my understanding is very good. Anyway saw your other videos I like them. Keep posting. God bless you.

Because there is evidence that the egyptians possessed advanced technology; there are depictions of air crafts on the temple walls.
On the other hand, that mask may have been used to secretly preserve the memory of our extraterrestial origins.

@NativeOfAfrica you are wrong. Look at the coaltar it was not in the 1970,s after the war. It is close to 1959 no doubt.
