The directors cut doesn't spoil the entire plot at the beginning,start this movie at 02:30 if you want to enjoy it without the Hollywood dumbdown. Peace.

9:36 that mouse in the maze, its symbolic of a child who is put into brainwash education for 12 years, all to get that piece of cheese, which is the "degree" of the initiate pupil, then the mouse gets put in another maze called a slave job to get a paycheck piece of cheese, so they can go to the store and buy real cheese to eat. 1:01 to 1:10 is obelisk worship. 2:07 "now showing "the evil". 2:21 freemason square and compass on the upper left hand screen. All sublime subliminal symbology.

DEF BETTER THAN AVATAR!!! U GOT THAT RITE!! Can u tell how much I love, adore, admire, etc DC so much by my username haha. Mr. Hand is my favorite character. Only thing I hate is Starngers died in the end. However, it does make sense if u think about it so im not knockin it.

OMG....the beginning of this flick plays exactly like the Matrix !

And dark city came out before the matrix !

The Matrix stole Dark City's narrative !

Strange this movie did so poorly at the box office, even Roger Ebert has it as one of his favorites and Ebert's name often can propel financial success. It most likely was just a bit surreal and had only Sutherland as a internationally famed actor.

Fortunately over 10 years it has gotten it's due recognition and a formidable cult base.

Good flick, one of the very best of the 'alternative universe' style movies.
