Yes, the picture quality didn't seem that bad for the archived 16:9 content. I believe Nine News still have black bars running whenever stories come from the US though...

QTQ's playout's still in Brisbane, but now Extra's been axed, Brissie schedules are exactly the same as Sydney's.

Hence the "networking" reference, as now everything bar local news comes down the line from TCN in Sydney.

If you saw the reaction on the OurBrisbane website, viewers are very angry at Nine for dumping Extra as it was a Sydney decision shoved in our collective faces.
