Very good version...don't agree with Hornsby detractors: to me playin' with Bruce Hornsby really gave Jerry some other years of life, he was a great jammin' companion, one of his level, maybe the best he ever had (together with Keith Godchaux in his first years, he was really into jazz). Maybe Brent was, playin' and singin', the most complete of all, but Hornsby to me was the best in jammin'

I can't listen to Jerry Garcia play without thinking about this local kid who completely copies his style to a T!!! He even copies his mannerisms! He just eats a whole bunch of acid and trips out thinking he's channeling Jerry or something. It's so annoying and fake. He's full of himself and if you go to see him play, usually at a local bar, people think he's so great. Jerry is a one of a kind guitarist, but I have a hard time focusing on Jerry when I'm watching Jerry. Call me crazy...

Vince was hired pretty much exclusively for his vocals, to sing the high parts Brent used to sing (Hornsby's vocal is too close to Weir's, if you listen.) Too bad Vince was so limited on the keys, he was miles below either Mydland or Hornsby. Listen to him during the solo ...he's treading all over jerry's stuff, ugh ...esp in the transition between choruses

Jerry in nice form here ...1991 was pretty much the last good year for him. Sad.

It goes from being this twangy, odd music to shit that makes your blood run cold with chills and the hair on the back of your neck stand up. Truly great band. I'd say too bad jerrys gona but honestly, the man did what he needed to and left us with some great tunes and even better inspiration.
