What we really need now is international protection of the Amazon forest, against anyone and everyone who tries to harm either it or the people who belong there and who try to protect it.

The trouble Gareth, is that there are far too many people with other interests, those who would certainly not write a documentation about them, but merely exterminate them from the face of the earth, as they have done so, so many times before.......

Whether the government will protect them or not is an entirely different matter, because judging from their politics they are certainly not the best people to confide in when it comes to securing the Amazon rainforest........

Gareth: The whole point of the expedition was to find where they are without contacting them so that the government could then protect their land from encroachment by mining and logging interests. Better for people who have their best interests in mind to find them than those who only care about stripping their homeland bare. Quite simple.

The only way to protect an uncontacted tribe is to let them be and NOT to write a documentation about them. Quite simple.
