ive been trapping for 2 months now and have coyote and fox sets out, im 14 and i just traped my first ever "legal" animal, have traped my cat and neibors dog, but i finnaly got a coon in a yote set, rear foot catch on a 1 3/4 coil spring duke, 12 pound coon, is that big.

I live in a city in Florida and am overrun with raccoons. I'd like to get rid of them but don't know how. I can't fire a gun in the city and I worry about trapping a neighbor's cat. I don't know how to get rid of the body either.

@vaughn1111 a high powered airgun (a.22cal should do) is quiet enough ,not conidered a fire arm i think so u can probly use it in cities and as for the body well you can eat it or burry it hope this helps!!

ok so i just started trapping, i am using primarily live traps, and my want is coons, i see many of them in the area i trap in, i have been used vanilla flavoring with cottonballs as well as old raw deer suasage,although there are many coons in my area i seem to only catch the oppossums does anyone have any tips?.....and to add to that if anyone is looking to trap squirrells,chipmunks,rabits, rodents, etc then go to your local hardware or grocery store and get a set of rat traps,use pnutbutter

If your worried about a 160 not doing it's job, find some junk 160's or 220's, pull the springs from junk and add to the 160. (Only if the 160 is a single) Make sure you have fingers set right so as to catch right behind the head, not on the head. Nice and clean every time.

I would recomend 160 because cheaper and you can do alot more with them. In Wisconsin there are special laws with 220 and bigger

I notice you set the 160 all the way to the end of the box, you don't leave a few inches of space for the 160 springs to open? I thought you needed space for the springs to open both front and back.
