  • Yeah human feet were designed to run on concrete.... for sure...

  • props to Vitale Bramani!

  • in town i saw a japenese man who was wearing them and i said how much money he said 600 $

  • swag

  • Mine start to SMELL w/o even running in them. Washed them once but they smelled a couple days later. What do I do?

  • @7commenter7 Gotta wash them pretty regularly. Like every 1-3 uses. Easiest way is to just toss them in the shower with you. Also you can get foot deoderising sprays that are designed to be sprayed in running shoes etc that work pretty good. Most good running stores will have them

  • que pasa si tengo el dedo muy gordo?

  • Vibram FiveFingers for $37.45. video on my channel if you want to save. - peace

  • Got my Vibrams about 4 months ago. Now, even when I wear normal shoes, I walk on the balls of my feet. I have massive legs now.

  • i wouldn't call them NERDY shoes i call them a engineering marvel. Oh and the soles are made out of polyurethane. Great video altogether though.

  • I know a woman who runs in these but wears high heels to work.

    Woman logic.

  • @meninrevolt No, just her particular (lack of) logic.

  • @pepperminttea42 She's not the exception. She's the rule.

  • @meninrevolt Then I guess I'm the exception. ;)

  • @meninrevolt One stupid woman = all women. Misogynist logic.

  • @meninrevolt Sounds like someone i know who only eats natural or organic foods but smokes

  • @meninrevolt Womens thinking to that is, if I wear high heels to work i'll look more sexy and have a biggesr chance of moving up in my company.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems Vibram FiveFingers' success can be contributed exceptional marketing, not necessarily exceptional minimalist shoes. I can get the same benefits out of a $25 dollar shoe with little to no support at Wal-Mart.. Sure, FiveFingers may be more comfortable but why pay $75 more simply for comfort? Just buy a regular pair of shoes for half the price if you care about comfort...

  • @FarAwayRunning They're made to simulate a barefoot ride with little to no padding to protect your foot. IF you want good support for your feet in cross country races, vibrams are good for training because they build calluses and make you learn the proper running form.

  • @chewbacawaka Yeah, I know what the shoes are made for, but I don't understand why people pay $100 for them. By the way, the shoes have practically no support and building calluses had nothing to do with proper running form. I agree that the shoes discourage heel striking, but I think just about any shoe with minimal support and padding will do that..

  • @FarAwayRunning I never said that calluses had to do anything with proper running form. Some runners use the vibrams as a way to create "padding" for their feet when they slip on racing flats because most runners wear cushioned shoes and flats have a way different, lighter feel to it. And i guess because vibrams have a really good barefoot feel. I mean, slipping on a pair of Nike Free Runs +2 feels different compared to the Vibrams even though they are both barefoot ride shoes.

  • Yeah, we should just run naturally without shoes over glass, nails, screws (like the one that blew out my tire) and other debris on the road or over grass with dog and goose droppings.

  • @johncfl I ran over a splattered bottle a few weeks ago - barefoot. But I always run barefoot. Was no problem at all. Didn't hurt, and no splitters were in my foot afterwards.

Yes, your foots are getting stronger. Way stronger.

  • 0:32 .... god i hate when people that state the obvious and try to sound smart

  • yeah, u can run naturally and how your body is suppossed to, but if ur doing long and fast milage, u will eventually get injured with these

  • @jniepokoj123 Well, what does logic tells you? Humans are not built to run long distances!

  • Like running barefoot with a condom

  • too expensive for stuff made in china ...

    enough said ...

bring back the jobs to west ...

  • These shoes are good for running...

    in the house.

  • I have the Bikilas and they feel great, works great on the calves when running. I work out with them at the gym and now i've noticed more people own a pair out here in L.A. My feet don't hurt after running, but the 'experts' say these shoes are useless and hurtful to your feet. I for one choose to ignore these because one day they say one thing, the next day they say another.

  • @JohnDoeHumdrum i agree with u brother, they do talk alot. the reason for this is economics! all about the dollar! ofcourse they will say that its not good for u because they want you to have bad feet, bad feet means peoples desperation for , orthotics, clinics and so on and so forth. These shoes are genius!

  • @JohnDoeHumdrum I actually had to do a research paper on these for a master's biomechanics class and only saw one research article where a doctor said he couldn't recommend these shoes because they could be extremely detrimental and could cause serious injuries. The bulk of the research that I read basically said that these shoes, IF you went through a training or breaking in period, were better for your feet and built up muscles in your feet to help prevent injury. So kudos to you!!

  • We are based in the United Kingdom and are very proud to sell these shoes on our online store. We try our best to be as helpful as possible and send out your shoes fast. We sell lots of other items too and we are constantly acquiring more products, all in which we think will bring you one more step closer to a healthier lifestyle. wwweverfreecouk

  • they look cool. i want them

  • We weren't born with glasses on, sooooo yeah i think we were designed to have bad vision. :P (Im making fun of Omfimao12345's comment)

  • @silentserv3r because we are supposed to be born with 20/20 sight

    unless something went wrong...

  • BUT... what if u have flat feet like i do running barefoot hurts the HELL out of me, prefer nike airmax :)

  • @adj569 I was evaluated by the US Army when getting my PT shoes in 2005 and was listed as having flat feet. I have two pairs of VFFs and have had nothing but good come from wearing them. Yes it hurts a little bit, but that is your body (your feet) growing accustomed to walking/running with little to nothing on them.

It will take a few months to get used to wearing the VFFs or going barefoot. It's like breaking in shoes, but in reverse, your feet have to unlearn about being confined in a shoe.

  • what if u step on glass and its rubber yea nice going and it has to rub againts ur toes mine does butt i love them anyway

  • who cares about how you run, i bet most of you people who obsess over these five fingers can't even

  • Normal shoes with 10 - 20 mm or more of rubber in the sole do *not* absorb the shock of foot-strike. The rubber condenses and then *rebounds* into your foot, effectively increasing the impact force on your body. This is known as Hooke's Law in physics. It for this reason that car bumpers are not made of rubber. If they were, they'd bounce, causing more of a shock. The best impact absorption is through good stride technique, and a normal running shoe prevents full range of movement for the foot.

  • The human body wasn't created to wear clothes either, so why don't we just take our clothes off, you tard?

  • Seriously, did you all think the human body was created to wear shoes? WE WERE BORN WITH FEET PEOPLE!!! THEREFORE OUR FEET WERE DESIGNED TO BE BAREFOOT AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE ALL THE TIME.

  • Why would you risk injury and tore up feet with barefoot running. Its called fixing your form. I've always wore shoes and I never had heel strike, instead I had the opposite of striking on my toes. My coach caught it and told me to run midfeet, and I never needed barefoot running to do that

  • These shoes are amazing! Or rather: they made me discover that the human body is amazing. Forefoot running is something that needs to be trained in very small intervals at first, to accustom the muscles to the new running pattern. But it only took a few steps to convince me. Every landing spontaneously generates the impetus for the next take-off, is noiseless and without impact. Body balance and pelvic stability are enhanced. Running never gave me this sense of total physical awareness before.

  • Buy water shoes if you don't need the toes. They are much cheaper and in every other aspect the same. Trust me I bought Vibram Five Fingers and used them for Parkour, they were broken after one month.

  • best $210.00 I've spent...........have 2 pair, one was $100 and the other $110. I'm not running in them (yet) but I don't have to pop 800mg of Motrin as soon as I get home from work either!! Yes, I wear them to work.......I'm a surgical heart nurse.

  • Heard these things start smelling really funky after awhile. Kind of gross...

  • @laskolasko Uhm 5 toe socks?

  • i have knee problems, quite a bit of pain with patella tendonitis (jumper's knee) does anyone know if these shoes help with the tendonitis or even give others some knee pain when running with the five fingers?? thanks!!!

  • @YanWeezy19 definitely talk with your doctor about this.. i definitely reccomend you get your doctors opinion on this, or even your pediatrist.. they all have different views and would know whats best for you.. in my personal opinion, if you have knee problems it would be best to stick with a pair of merrells or northface (regular) shoes. they also offer the same vibram sole but have more cushion and all around support which will be easier on your knees, hips, and back

  • just got my second pair for x-country

  • You can still run on the balls of your feet with smaller running shoes. My feet don't feel as protected when I wear the Vibrams. I'm not saying that regular shoes ARE more protective, I just mean that I don't feel as protected. Great lake/river shoes tho.

  • i have the very bad habit of walking on my toes will these shoes help me stop walking on my toes or will they make the toe walking worse?

  • I really like the KSO Treks for hiking in rocky areas.

  • where exactly do we wear these shoes? i might get them!!!!! great video btw

  • @Splinter5k I see people at my local gym wearing them

  • @Splinter5k Beach, lake, river. You get use to them, they still look funny, but the idea is for running mostly.

  • i love my KSO!!!!!!!!!

  • I would try them... if I weren't too lazy to go jogging...

  • I don't care what anybody says, running with little padding on unnatural surfaces like concrete or asphalt will eventually pound your feet into submission. Not natural. Just get normal/slightly lighter shoes and don't run on your heels like an idiot.

  • @MrTesla725 well that's the point, unnatural running (shoes) for unnatural surfaces (asphalt), and natural running (barefoot) for natural surfaces. ;)

and as the dude said in the video, any regular sneaker forces you to hit first with your heel, so it's pretty hard to run correctly with them.

  • @MrTesla725

I respectfully disagree. The problem with "normal/slightly ligher" shoes is the fat heel, not the weight. THAT is what messes up form. You almost have to point your toes to get a nice forefoot strike on fat-heeled shoes. (I'm speaking from personal experience; I tried the fat-heeled Nike Free 3.0 after running 3 miles/day in FiveFingers.) The VFFs and other TRUE minimalist shoes make forefoot striking not just easy, but natural. And no, running on concrete with VFFs doesn't hurt.

  • Your pronouncing vibram wrong and they are 100 dollars not 75. To have a review you have to now things about the product. I hope you learn that.

  • @Doublet315

and to make a comment criticizing someone's pronunciation you need to know how to fucking spell

  • @Doublet315 to criticize a review you need to learn how to spell know

  • Naturally you run on teh balls of your feet, but shoes Kinda ruined that for us :(

  • ya we r designed to run barefoot on sand or dirt not pavement..these shoes r very bad for your feet and legs unless u r running on a beach or in the woods not for sidewalks or streets

  • @Berserker248 These shoes aren't bad for our feet. The pavement is bad for our feet. It's unnatural.

  • "There's a growing body of research that suggests running barefoot is exactly the way your body was designed to work!" NO KIDDING! And I always thought my body was designed to wear shoes!!!! :D

  • love my vibrams really is a good $85 spent!

  • Check out the Skechers shape ups omg......

  • my toe next to my big toe is a half in. longer than my big toe...thanks toe next to my big toe for keeping me from thowing away 85bucks.my toe next to my toe next to my big toe sais BOWFINGER-UP!!! ,...,..to all you nerds.

  • I do cross country, are these great for distance running?

  • I'm a daily runner. Will this give you any blisters? My feet are quite fragile. It's a great feeling to put on propa sports shoes that are lightweight, feel soft on every step and breathe in hot summer. Then I come home and feet don't hurt me at all :D

But the character Faith in Mirror's Edge (video game) is wearing something similar but only the thumb is separated. You can see the shoe at the beginning of the trailer for the game.

  • @StandingRedPanda

In my experience, yes Vibrams give blisters. Some report otherwise and I haven't experimented with them with the InjiInji socks in them. Running BF, after getting the form right, does not produce blisters.

I say BF all the way. It's more fun. It's more natural. It's free.

  • Did you see the army banned these for PT what a crock!

  • @hirosstorageunit yeah but they're allowed in the Air Force as long as your local commander or NCO/IC ok's them (one of my commanding officers wears these for PT, so do i :D)

  • Going barefoot eliminated all of the foot pain I'd had for years. Barefoot=awesome, though this is just another unnecessary product. When I need something shoe like, I just wear deerskin mocs with no sole. They give plenty of protection, are biodegradable, way cheaper and you don't have to deal with the weird toe sock feeling.

  • ROFL, this shit has been invented by Al Bundy. He got the idea from god

  • @Lubben i feel sorry for u that u have to spend so much, here in USA i got them at a local store on sale for $70

  • @NObama28 Well you don't get it cheaper in my country, but they aren't really more expensive than any other running shoes :) So its a fair price compared to other running shoes.

  • I WANT!

  • $85 for foot gloves

  • @mike081283 Some say the best $85.00 they've spent.

  • @TAYL0R16 Definitely.

  • @TAYL0R16

I say that! :D except they were for my birthday, but still best shoes.

  • @nnmacameraman92 Amen bro!

  • @TAYL0R16 it was

  • @zuck1990 Amen bro, just got my Black/Camo KS0. Fucking epic!

  • Are feet were never designed to run around on pavement or walk on hardwood floors all day. If you are walking on natural surfaces like dirt and sand there great but I have a hard time believeing they are good for pounding on pavement all the time.

  • @bonzaibb12 rocks have been around forever, our ancestors ran on hard surfaces too lol

  • @ariesneko Yes but they did not live on them permanently like we do today. There feet got a break from those hard surfaces because not everything was covered in rock. People living in the city wearing these as an everyday shoe are ending up with foot problems. In the city there are few breaks from the pavement and hard floors.

  • @bonzaibb12

I would argue that carpet is easier on the foot than dirt and sand. So how does that come into play?

On another note, there have been many civilizations that lived in much more challenging places for the feet. Take cave and cliff dwellers for example.

  • /watch?v=evdDbUrWn1k

  • I totaly want to buy this so people look at me and go wtf? haha

  • this guy is a jackass, "growing body of research that suggests barefoot running is the way your body was designed to work" You dont say?! seriously man...

  • I have a pair of KSOs and I love them. They are pretty much superior to shoes in just about every way. The only thing I've preferred shoes in doing is skating and longboarding, where the fabric on the top and side just aren't enough to endure it, but that's about it.

One other pro - they contain the foot odor well. con - when you take them off and if you have foot odor, they release it all at once which is pretty nasty haha.

  • Well we werent born with running shoes on, sooooo yeah i think we were designed to be barefoot. :P

  • @omglmao12345 Yes but we were not designed to be barefoot in the city on pavement and hard flooring. If you live where there is mostly dirt then its not as hard.

  • @bonzaibb12 Well tell that to a riksha driver :D Do many riksha drivers get some disability after years of running barefoot in India or Indonesia? But maybe our feet can adapt. A long time ago I saw a documentary about Africa and one of the porters showed his soles and he had a thick layer of hard skin - perfect for carrying stuff through african nature. He can step on a sharp stone and keep going, while we with our gentle feet have to recover from pain. Lol, we're pansies!

  • @StandingRedPanda Those guys arent really posting updates on youtube about there foot problems. So I think thats wishful thinking. Look at most forums on Panter fascitus and you will see the root cause is walking on hard unatural surfaces. Sure poeple like Cody Lundeen live completely barefoot but the fact of the matter is they spend the majority of there time in nature and on natural surfaces that have more shock absorbtion. Callusses do not protect your bones just the skin.

  • @bonzaibb12 Or we could ask a podiatrist to solve this question instead of looking at forums :D

  • @bonzaibb12

I just ran a half marathon BF. Not in vibrams or other minimal footwear. The real BF. I felt great the next day etc. Yes, everyone that wants to do this needs to build up to it. If I'd just taken off my shoes and tried it I would have been injured but with proper build up and listening to your body it's the only way to run. Love it.

  • @bonzaibb12

I hear this crap all the time. Running BF is not like pounding down the pavement in shoes. It's a completely different style that eliminates the harsh impact on your joints. I just ran my first half marathon last weekend BF, not in Vibrams, BF, all on pavement and I felt great afterwards, feet, ankles, legs. Everything.

With that said, you need to build up over months if not longer to get to that point. Pavement is great for running BF.

  • @hippoyell the army sais you cant wear this hideous crap because its hideously hideous with a hideous tinge of oxymoronic hidalgo-ideousness hiding from nerds only!nerds ONCE AGAIN !! thinks something hideous is coo-aahll! and they heed not the sacred, 'army eye for a uniform guy' advice.you shalt suffer joggnerds! you shalt suffer!!

  • @ohmphthschwrhu "jognerds"?. So what? your just some fat lazy bastard who gets no exercise at all?.

Oh wait, your just the garden variety troll.

  • @omglmao12345

That only is true if our evolution is hyperfast. It's not. A few hundred years ago, we almost only had soft surfaces, soil, grass etc. We could easily land on our forefoot there. These days however, most floors are concrete, hard, without dampening and they can carve some wounds in your feet, hence we have shoes :)

  • @omglmao12345 but we didn't run long distances on concrete when we were born...

  • @omglmao12345 haha your a dumbass! "well we werent born with clothes sooooo yea i think we were designed to be naked." :P hmmmm wait a sec......

  • @omglmao12345 i feel like this is what shoes should be like

  • @omglmao12345 Or wearing glasses. ;-) But shoes really have prevented what we are designed to do.

  • The scientist meant it is better for you to go travel barefoot as opposed to wearing shoes due to sustained injury as well as fatigue. Its not focused on using so much the foot itself but on the footwear.

  • will they work for basketball? no ankle support should i start off slow in them? and which ones are the best for a very sports oriented lifestyle (basketball, handball, kickball, football)

  • @rabiesman888 I don't think these shoes would be right for you. These shoes are to give the barefoot feel, without the damage of the terrain. If you wouldn't go barefoot in an activity then you probably wouldn't use these shoes either. It could be fine for handball, but a horrible idea for basketball and football. lol. They only give protection to the bottom of your foot, and in basketball and football feet are always getting stepped on.

  • @rabiesman888 best use is for running, climbing, hiking and pretty much any water sport.

  • @AllAboutLearning

I tried climbing in these and it does not work. You really need that hard toe box for edging.

  • my one question will this work for basketball? if so should i wean my way on to them for use in basketball due to lack of ankle support that i am usually used to?

  • They cost around 200 U.S. dollars in Sweden. Talk about getting butt.. well you know.

  • I'm sorry. They might be the most comfortable shoe on the earth but I just can't get past the way they look. I always laugh when I see people in them.

  • very gay indeed

  • it's "v-igh-bram" not "v-ee-bram"!

  • KomodoSport is my favorite model

  • @HitTheTrailRunning Just bought the Komodo Sport yesterday.... <3 them.

  • @TheFrOzEnTaCo Sweet! How do you like them?

  • @HitTheTrailRunning They are awesome and are super comfortable. I wear them with Injinji toesocks.

  • LOL what a bunch of crap. Our feet aint disigned to run on concret. Pros dont use it becouse you will never run faster with vibrams on hard base. Also if you aint used to running and didnt build your "running muscle" yet using Vibrams is asking for in injuries...

Im not saying they are bad, couse they are awesome I use them myself.

  • @polski1986

watched a marathon yesterday (forget which one) and the guy in third with around a 2:15 time was wearing vibrams. Not many pros use em but some do

  • @n00beta ye its oke to use them if your running for a while, but that guy would probably run even faster with good running shoes

  • @polski1986 He'd probably also get more injuries running in traditional running shoes. In my experience, I can run faster and longer in Vibrams and have had no serious injuries like the ones I had before.

  • Have had a pair of KSO Treks for 3 months and love them! The breaking in period is crap though... (hurts like a motha!) Stick with it and you'll never wear anything else .02

  • @NeOBlog How long was the break in period??? i just ordered a pair for the summer

  • @Gumpo09 It only took 3-4 days... If you're not the type that wears toe socks constantly, then the insides of your toes are a little sore the first few times... (it does get easier to put them on too!)

  • They always forget to mention how much it hurts when you first start wearing them. I almost STOPPED wearing them and sent them back, then saw on some unknown blog several people said something similar. I don't think vibram wants you to know about that "breaking in" period for fears that it would deter people.

  • just ordered the five fingers KSO, gonna tell you how it goes :D

  • And what if Im going to wear socks?^^

  • @stonefacex They make toe socks.

  • @kristaljane25 lol. A scientific revolution =D

  • Are they nice for just walking around in? Or are they specifically designed for running? Because i want a pair because ive heard they are comfortable but i dont run.

  • @MatthewTubmanFolder Yeah. They really, really make you walk differently. The Classic, KSO and sprint are all very, very natural, whereas the Komodo and TrekSport have much thicker treads if you are on really sharp stuff.

I'll put it this way: Have you ever noticed how people bash their heels like hammers when they walk around barefoot? If you do this, you will have to unlearn it, after which they will be super comfortable, and you will have a much more natural gait.

  • @MatthewTubmanFolder You can do anything in them. Running in them has specific benefits, but think of it this way: When you buy "tennis shoes" are you playing tennis or doing sports in them, then change shoes? I see people just wearing those as if they were the only shoes that were. These vibram shoes hurt like hell the first week or so...as we are not used to walking like that all day on different surfaces. But AFTER that, YES, they are great to "just walk around in". And run in, and climb in.

  • I would like to purchase some of these foot gloves

  • @ImASovereignMan I don't think those cavemen cared much about how they looked like lol they probably cared more about function over fashion when shoes were fist invented :)

  • they may be more comfortable to run in but these shoes look ridiculous

  • I hate those stupid looking shoes, and I just want to punch every "trend whore" I see in the face everytime I see these gay ass house shoes. Why not just buy Zoot if you want a real minimalist running shoe, the saucony bullets are good too. I hope that vibram goes out of bussiness.

  • @Lemurai So you're mad that these look different? Interesting. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a genius in the building.

  • @rokikshasas Ladies and gentleman!......Mind your own bussiness, uh huh umm.. yeah thanks buh bye....

  • @Lemurai I think you seriously need to chill the fuck out. i bet youre a trend whore in some way or another. just because someone doesnt want to run barefoot and fuck up their feet doesnt justify you being an ignorant douche bag, punch me in the face for wearing a pair of shoes and ill fucking cut you.

  • @omglmao12345 well if you cut me, best not let me find out where you live LOL! Because everyone there is getting your punishment lmao! and yes this is a trend bitch shoe, fuck em. Wear that gay shit if you want to.

  • @Lemurai You mad bro?

  • I luv mine

  • how would wearing these protect your feet from steeping in dog poo? Im gonna be pretty careful not to step in anything if i paid a frikin $85 for these things

  • Vibrams are FLIMSY junk that fall apart ...my lasted 1 month before the sole broke yp with holes from small pebbles....100% JUNK sole/design, including cloth over the tores that tears easily...in a nutshell....CHEAP, FLIMSY design

  • @PrestonBaldwin Shut up and stop complaining. Your probably don't even run that much.

  • @PrestonBaldwin you may have purchased fakes, my friend got classics from REI and he has had them for 6 months and has done running, swimming, and crossfit in them and he loves them.

  • Vibrams are FLIMSY junk that fall apart ...my lasted 1 month before the sole broke yp with holes from small pebbles....100% JUNK sole/design, including cloth over the tores that tears easily

  • Kind of unfortunate for people with syndactyly.

  • 85 bucks! Fuck that Vibram, with all the reports of before-100-mile breakage, tearing of the sole, ripped top fabric, problems with over-pronation, I don't think these will last long on the market, and if so, more as a gimmick. I run in huaraches and I run barefoot. Softstar Shoes also makes an excellent moccasin type of running shoe. Fivefingers for the fail!

  • i don't these would be so bad if they got rid of the singled toe glove look and made it a normal toe, but the same sole and shoe design.

cause as of now, these look stupid and that is why i am not getting these

  • get a pair of airmax+ 2011 and call it a day

  • Ryu Hayabusa made me want a pair of these.

  • @poeticpisces2007 LOL!, yeah these are perfect for wall-running , deadly ninja duels and slaying Fiends, just make sure you don't forget your Dragon Sword. :)

  • Vibram FiveFingers - The Shoe For Douchebags. Look for them at your local sporting goods store.

  • You know..they actually work very very well for working out. Especially mountain biking. They help you stabilize. But I understand your need and crave for trying to piss people off and being that guy on the internet that is a total ass is perfectly understandable!

  • @TheJedimaster6788 Spoken like a true douchebag.

It's bad enough when men go into restaurants with flip flops while I'm trying to eat. Now they wear these grotesque things, too. I guess a psychopathic indifference to those around them is okay. But mocking douchebaggery, a negative character trait, isn't.

  • again, why be an ass? You know, they are just fitness shoes. If people where them around, that's up to them. I just where them when I bike or run.

By the way, who isn't psychopathic in ANY trait, even if just one thing in their head. What is psychopathic or insanity to one person is sanity and normal to another : )
