  • Will the training DVD and materials supplied by you will allow me to replicate the counter top in your YouTube Video. My wife relay likes the black shiny granite finish :)

  • Yes it does, just pick the colors you want from our website. Take care!

  • I want to resurface my kitchen, but the current countertop is ceramic tile. Would I be able to remove the tile and then use this kit?

  • If your tile is stable, you can sand or scuff your tile and apply the kit directly over your tile.

  • Do you guys have any classes in NYC?:0|

  • Not yet, but most people start with our dvd's and if you ever decide to take a hands on class in Phoenix we deduct whatever money you spend with us. Thanks for your interest.

  • Thinking about ordering kits, but was wondering where you are located and if you actually contract to come in and do the resurfacing yourself?

  • Hello, we are located in Phoenix Arizona and yes I do travel to do some high end jobs. Thanks for your interest.

  • what is the kit name - website?

  • Countertop resurfacing kit, watch the first 15 seconds of this video and it will give you all the contact info you will need. Take care

  • Both kits will have the same products as used in this video, the only difference is that the one with the dvd will cover techniques that were left out of this video. Take care!

  • We're thinking about ordering this. I have one question. On the website there are two kits. One called "countertop resurfacing kit" and the other called "Concrete countertop kit with dvd"... which kit were you using in this video? Thanks :)

  • Thanks for compliment! Google Something Better Co. and you can find lots of info or options. Click on the material and kits link.

  • how do I order this kit?

  • I like the way this looks when finished. Im currently thinking about doing a pour in place concrete countertops this summer when we do our kitchen.

How durrable is this refinishing system? In this video, was the countertop resurfacing kit used or the concrete countertop kit used? Very interested in possibly trying out this product. It seems to be a lot less work than doing a pour in place counter top.

  • Hello, thanks for the compliment! We used the overlay kit and it is durable, you can use epoxy followed by wax or for restaurants use epoxy followed by solvent based poly urethane or a poly aspartic for best durability. We also teach solid pour and overlay methods to look like solid pour. Thanks and take care!

  • great video you have there! Tweeted you by the way. thanks! :)

  • Thanks for the compliment!

  • So many comments to read...Great video! Can you do this over laminate countertops or do I need to add the mdf boards?

  • Thanks for the compliment! The main use is directly over formica or laminate and also tile. Scuff the surface with 30 or 60 grit sand paper prior of resurfacing. Take care and thanks again

  • where i get the kit or the videos man is amazing

  • Thanks for the compliment! you can get any info you need by calling 800-324-1719, take care!

  • That's so awesome! Where can I get more info?

  • Thanks for compliment! Google Something Better Co. and you can find lots of info or options.

  • can this be done with the countertops in place and how long is the process thanx steve

  • Hello Steve, yes it is done in place over Formica or Tiled counters and so on. I can do it in one long day or two short days. Take care!

  • Beautiful work , thanks for uploading the video 10/10

  • Thanks for the compliment!

  • Great video. My question is the material you use for the high sheen - does it stand up to high heat, life for example putting a hot pot on them?

  • this is SO awesome, thank you. We were considering trying to make a concrete counter top but this looks much easier.

  • Thanks, you can create it like what you see or also do a polished concrete look with an overlay method. Take care!

  • Awesome!

  • Your coloring is just beautiful.. It reminds me of flying over water and seeing the ocean and ocean floor. Its just beautiful. I wish you could come to my house and make something like this. Love the colors!!!!

  • Thanks for the compliment, I love anything to do with the ocean! Take care!

  • looks good, but the main question is how much for a kit?

  • you rule

  • :-) I'm trying! Thanks for the compliment! Take care!

  • beautiful job.how can i learn how to do that kind of work .

  • Thanks for the compliment, you can go to our web site to learn about your options for training options. Take care!

  • very interesting process

  • Thanks!

  • can this work on Tile?

  • Yes it goes over tile on counters and also flooring.

  • Thanks for the video. It looks like it would be a lot of fun to apply this, and I might try get some and try it out someday. I really would've liked to have seen the steps you used to color it.

  • Do I have to tear off that platic cover that looks like granite?

  • No, as long as it is durable just scuff it up, clean and apply over it!

  • Great video, I keep watching it over. I have lost my advanced coloration DVD tho, need to get another one

  • Glad to hear your enjoying it! When you get a chance give Tammi a call, she can either send one out or you can view it in the membership area. Take care and thanks for the compliment!

  • How does your two part epoxy self leveling finish hold up to use? We did a similar counter resurface and used envirotex lite. The finish scratches . We have to be careful with can food or large bowls. Now two almost two years the counter looked like they need to be buffed. How does your finish hold up to every day kitchen use? Thanks

  • Epoxies are the softest out of all the sealers and need a coat of wax or a coat of solvent based urethane to keep from scratching. My favorite finish is to polish, then apply a penetrating sealer followed by a wax. Take care!

  • @adnilem001 2 part epoxies scratch easily, end of story. Then again it doesn't stain like marble or granite. 3 part epoxies are usually a paint to work with due to blushing (amonium salt formation due to moisture ) looking like a cloudy surface. I know I've worked with it for over twenty years.

  • @adnilem001 Urethanes are expensive, really expensing and guess what? They still scratch. I've done at least 10000 tables/ bartops using the basic 2 part epoxy and tell everybody the same thing, yeah it will scratch but so will the paint on a Mercedes. You don't see Mercedes scratched everywhere, know why? It's called " being careful." The video creator does fantastic work and I'd treat it like Mercedes and let everyone know it...

  • @adnilem001 BTW the beauty of epoxy is it can be resurfaced cheaply. Granite? FoGetaboutit!

  • Glad to hear it, we look forward to helping you in any way we can! Take care, Bryan G.

  • great job getting your video to number one

  • Thanks

  • This is sweet!! Could this be used for flooring over an interior hydronic radiant heat system?

  • Thanks for the compliment and yes it can be over the heat system, the rules change a tiny bit but definitely doable! Take care!

  • Is the mixture different or does it have to be applied thicker for radiant heating. Does you're training DVD explain how to overlay over radiant floors? I am very interested in using you're methods for my radiant floors.

  • If you get a chance call me at 800-324-1719, I can go over some options for what needs to be done, the mix will be modified a little bit but not a problem! Talk to later, Bryan

  • Nice. I just went on your website to order, the site is a bit busy. Is there an 800# or any keep it simple directions to order?

  • Can I order the product and do it myself?

  • Absolutely!

  • Thanks for the compliment, most of the colorants are high concentrated colorants that we sell! Take care!

  • thanks for the video. it shows that this technique could be done by a home owner with no experience.the top you showed is absolutely beautiful, even more so than real marble.thanks again for the ideas.

  • Thank you very much for the compliment, much appreciated!

  • Very nice product and good video, thanks Bryan.

  • Thanks for the compliments, hope all is well in Australia!

  • Do you have a website on this? I am in Canada and want to try this out on my kitchen counter. Where can I get this? Also, I know you have your trade secrets, but how do I go about doing patterns/colors? Thanks!

  • Yes we do, the first 15 seconds of this video will give the web address, please visit and let us know how we can be of further help. Thanks, Bryan

  • did you buy the video?

if yes, what do you think?

  • Where can you get these kits

  • The last 15 seconds of the video will show the web site, please call anytime with any questions or concerns. Take care, Bryan

  • I have an UGLY tile counter top, can I put this over the old tile? They are 3x3 tiles.

  • Yes, get some 20 or 30 grit sand paper and scuff up the tiles, then clean them with denatured alcahol. The first coat of cement gets mixed up with full strength Polymer.

  • Can I use this technique in an outdoor bbq kitchencountertops?

how durable is it to the heat during BBQ, hot pots and the elements?

  • You can go outside with the products, the only difference, do not use the thick epoxy if in sunlight. I like the polished look with penetrating sealer and wax for outside. This will be the best for handling the heat also. The only difference is the bond coat is applied thicker to handle the polishing. Take care.

  • My clients usually don't like epoxy, but want that shiney look. Is your marble powder mix able to shine up good with the diamond pads?

  • You can polish the Marble coat, apply penetrating sealer then wax or my favorite is to burnish out the epoxy so that it takes out the shiny plastic look. This method makes it look shiny like marble but without looking like a sealer is on top! Take care!

  • What else can you use this technique other than countertops

  • You can use it virtually anywhere! Shower walls, walls, ceilings, interior, exterior, in your boat, It's unlimited! Let me know if you ever need help! Take care, Bryan G.

  • looks great .

    how strong is this product?

can it take a knock of a glass or pan being accidently dropped on it ?

  • Yes it can, that 's the beauty of formulating yourself. You can add as much strength in your mixes as needed. If you ever have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me, I answer my phone 99.9% of the time. :-) Take care, Bryan

  • wow - you rock - that is so awesome. My friend got faux granite laminate and it looked tacky - but this is awesome - for real !!!

  • Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate it very much! Let me know if I can ever be of help. Take care, Bryan

  • nice work.

  • Thanks!

  • Is it possible to do this OVER my old counter top? The counter top is in good condition except it needs to be re-mortared between the small 1inch tiles. I would very much like to know.

    Thank you

  • Yes you can go right over your existing countertop! Tile or formica is fine. As an extra measure sand the tile with 20 or 30 grit sand paper prior of applying SBC Bond Coat. Take Care!

  • For those who want to buy products in bulk, it will be at least 60% off retail cost. We sell Bond Coat and Marble Coat in 25 pound bags. 100 bags per palet. All other products are included at the same discount if bought in bulk. Please don't hesitate to call with any questions, I'm here to help! Take care, Bryan G.

  • i want to buy it please tell me where what and how much

  • First of all great work there. Second of all I do have a question, that you will be able to answer if you don't mind me asking.

  • I will be gluing rubber/linoleum type of floor material to plywood in a bus. The temperature is going to be around 45F rather then 65F as suggested. Am I going to have issues at 45 and/or are there any special things you would suggest I do for proper bonding.

I do have a kerosene heater. But I am not sure I should be using it as it may be pretty dangerous with the vapors coming out of the cement.

    Thanks a lot in advance.

  • If your asking about covering the linoleum, I would put diamond wire or spider lath over it prior of covering with my system. The temperature should be at least 50 and above. The heater will be a big help, just open a few windows for circulation and avoid breathing vapors, use a painters respirator. Also you can modify cement mixes with hydraulic cement to create heat and extra strength. Take care and hope this helps!

  • Thanks a lot.

  • Any Time! Also use hot water to cheat the cold weather a bit when applying cements.

  • what are the costs to do this myself?

  • With Mail Order course, it will cost under $1 per square foot after training. If buying products directly, about $5 a square foot for the majority of finishes. Take care!

  • is it after days of curing that it starts to look like marble?

it seems so simple to do the 2 step and have it look like the piece at the end of the video

  • Everything you see takes one long day or two half days to complete from start to finish. The only time it goes into a third day is if you decide to put a poly urethane sealer over the thick countertop epoxy. Rarely done. Or other stuff like adding glass veins, fiber optics, etc. Take care and thanks for the question!

  • wonderful video. i just did my first ever epoxy coated countertops. i did it over paint. but im gonna work my way up to this. thats just too awesome my friend.

    jj

  • Hello jj, I appreciate the encouraging words and hope I can be of some help in the future. Thanks again and take care, Bryan G.

  • This might be a stupid question, but what is MDF? Why wouldn't a hardy board work?

  • MDF = Medium Density Fiberboard. MDF is easy to cut and comes in a variety of thicknesses. Since he puts the resin on top, the hardy board probably isn't necessary.

  • Thanks for the great answer, appreciated greatly!

  • About how much would it cost to do this to a small kitchen? I have one counter that's 26" x 86" and another smaller peninsula.

We were thinking about buying laminate sheets, but then I saw this video.

    Thanks in advance.

  • if I didn't answer this in your email, sorry and see above pricing comments. Thanks Bryan G.

  • Bryan I just had a flash back of the training I had with you. I really want to Thank You for staying true to your word of you always being available for your students. I love the colorations and I know that theres more to come & I can't wait. I also want to say Thanks for keeping me updated on all the latest with your membership section.
