And I used to live there, in the big brown house up in the trees on the hill. The coastal region mountains are gorgeous, but the problem with that area is the flooding, and also it's about 50 miles from any kind of work. You better make MONEY to live out there. Have they paved the back road toward the houses out back yet?
About the flooding, I heard some rescent stories from my cousins Bob and Marylou who built their home and have lived here since the early 80's. Fortunate for them it has never reached into their home. He worked for N.W. Natural Gas in the Jewell/Mist area for many years. As for the road info... I'm not too sure? I was just a visitor.
Yeah, I lived there during the flood of '96, and 202 was washed out and so we had to take the gravel roads all the way out to Deer Island to get to Highway 30 so we could even get to town. Subaru Brats work good out there.
every time I watch this ..I feel like its home, a calling of the heart. Perfect song and voice stylings for this vid as well.. thank you Dave for putting so much into your vids for all to enjoy..I know I sure do!
I thoroughly enjoy making and posting these videos for others such as yourself to enjoy and from this very kind comment, it sounds like it's working. ;-)
Wow......I'm going to reply to this gorgeous video, but I'm going to have to do it in a private message, because it evoked a heavier reaction for me, due to personal....stuff....than I could've ever really suspected. You sent it to me, I started watching it, and the floodgates opened, as it were. ~Jeff
Thanks to Bob for the moving poem and Dave for the video. It really celebrates the sense of paradise at the lake and the special hospitality of Bob and Lou.
