  • Right! Odd feedback for this video again.

  • don't think so literately.

  • lol takes a fast and ferocious singer like Zack to outspeed these fucks

  • MK45gunnr Thanks for replying. We aren't communists/ socialists or anarchists. I'm sure you'll find a few in the mix but collectively we are about taking corporate funding out of politics. We will never try to steal ppls hard earned money or crush capitalism. I think the media may play a role in that smear. If you want to see our list of proposals look us up. coupmediaorg.

  • OCCUPY AMERICA FUCK ALL POLITITIONS DEMORATS & REPUBLICRAPS!!!POWER TO THE PEOPLE HAIL JESUS

  • i love this country but the last 3 years since Obama been in office all the racist that were hiding have come back into the light!!

  • Hollywood is pure Jew promoted propaganda 95% for sure, any1 who says diff is either a hasbara troll or some ignorant fool. this movie 98 99, two years later 9/11, just see the similarities of buildings blowing up and when the Jew anchor reporter says "since the world trade centre bombings". its too subtle but its there.

  • why hasnt any1commented that come with me the puff daddy song morello mix dat plays as credits start to roll on godzilla sounds exactly the same as wake up that plys when credits start to roll on matrix.

  • i love all this revolution crap everybody here seems to talk about. BTW, the RATM douche bags are a bunch of fuckin pussy ass cowards that couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag with a flame thrower and a nuke! THINK ABOUT WHAT IT IS YOU ARE ACTUALLY ASKING FOR! Tear down America? For what? So the fuckin Chi-Coms can run the world? yeah, speak out against them and they put a bullet in your head!100 million dead in that "Great" revolution! R U actually f'n STUPID?

  • @mk45gunnr Dont call The members of Ratm douche bags because that is not true.

  • HELP US FIGHT THE POWER!!! COME TO WALL STREET AND SUPPORT THE REVOLUTION...HAPPENING RIGHT NOW!!! KEEP THIS POST ALIVE AND THUMBS UP!!!

  • @mdunct talkin about wall street greed? what about government waste? all i gotta say to you guys, good luck, but if you all wanna go communist.... us red blooded AMERICANS ain't gonna stand for that. what r u gonna do when you cant go to the grocery store? watch what u ask for, you may get it. BTW look at your history, after the "Left" wins, the first ones they get rid of are their "useful idiots" that were in the street doing the heavy lifting, just something to think on.

  • First Rage song i ever heard which led me interested in Activism.

  • This song is a fuckin freight train headed straight for the ESTABLISHMENT!

  • @TheDsd2010 I love this band. Keep an eye on the dollar index (DXY). This is key.

  • the frontline is everywhere

  • years ago...I loved godzilla. years later, I find out one of my favourite bands, RATM, had a song on the soundtrack. coincidence? I think not. Damn God, you scary!

  • THERE BE NO SHELTER HERE! The Front line is Everywhere..... i love this band.

  • the greatest band ever niggaz dont agree go screw yourself

  • reminds me of beastie boys style

  • @masterchiefboy11 This have nothing even similar with Beastie Boys....

  • Great track for an adrenaline rush.

  • Everyone is a sellout and a whore. The quicker you realize that, the better off you are. Every day you go to your job, you are selling out for whatever your hourly is. Dont fool yourselves.

  • @Razerbeast Being aware you are selling out is however the first step ;)....if we don;t dream we become inert

  • THIS SONG FUCKING OWNS!!!!

  • "chained to the dream they got you searchin for"

    genius

  • Godzilla pure motherfuckin filla

  • esta era la buena epoca cuando habia buenas peliculas y excelentes bandas sonoras!!!!

  • what a bunch of fucking sellouts.

  • @BornScreaming Hey another fucking troll!

  • @BornScreaming Please explain how. or else you will forever be an idiot. Actually you will probably still be idiot, but good luck. ;)

  • @zacRip Only a true idiot would need to be explained why being on an album for a corporate Hollywood entertainment production would make a band a sellout. RATM makes videos mocking the idiocy of giving away millions on quiz shows, yet they do an album for a multi-million dollar mindless entertainment movie about a giant lizard, when the movie could have went to feeding starving people or making a film about a social issue. YOU are the fucking idiot. You fucking star idolizing tool.

  • @BornScreaming its the message they are sending, not the way they are sending it. theres no such thing as bad media. if they are going to get their message across, what better way then a big hollywood movie soundtrack. lots of people are going to hear it... so it makes sense that they would do it. NOw if they started doing commericials for I dont know... digital cameras, then you would have some merit in calling them sell outs.

YOU WIN NOTHING! YOU LOSE! GOOD DAY, SIR!

  • Hollywood is just a big propaganda machine to programme our minds and slowly brainwash the public to accepting later planned events. For example the movie 300 was clearly propaganda for the envitable Iran war. Brave men of the west vs the monsters of Persia! People loved it!

  • Revolution music at its best.

  • Isn't this song about how bad movies and stuff are?

  • shitty movie awsome soundtrack

  • @254Jackson: "that's a-lot of fish"

    T_T

    But the soundtrack is good

  • many a trips to motox pumping this song.... long live the 90s!!!

  • the main attraction: distraction

  • They used a song attacking consumerism to promote a movie? Did they ever listen to the song?

  • @grievous056 nope. it attacks the movie who's soundtrack the song is on. they did not listen to the song.

  • @grievous056 I think they put it in there b/c it said godzilla in the song lol

  • @grievous056 perhaps it has something to do with american eyes, or better yet americanize, which is what has happened in Japan and a lot of the world. Not that its a bad thing, but its the truth.

  • @grievous056 nope cuase their all facssit pigs

  • @grievous056 what do you wanna bet you and me are among about fifty people who clued to that

    A+++good comment

  • @grievous056 The movie is a parody. It makes fun of Americanization of things itself. The song was appropriate.

  • @CharvakaJim lmao swift comment there buddy..

  • @grievous056 Hello arguments from 13 years ago. There are responses to this. Look up interviews... from 13 years ago.

  • @grievous056 Yes...but...the revolutionary left movement was created by freemasons, and they(freemasons) are also those who encourage consumerism.

  • @grievous056 they just used the best weapon against capitalism itself

  • @grievous056 LMAO

  • Cinema, simulated life, ill drama

    Fourth reich culture, Americana

Chained to the dream they got you searchin for

Tha thin line between entertainment and war

  • 12 years old and still true to this day

  • Wow, I always thought Godzilla was just a mindless summer blockbuster but if it has RATM in it then i'm sure it must be some sort of deep thought provoking political satire!

  • @EchoBoomer1987 yea that movie actually was pretty popular and got ppl all hiped up to see it i remember wen it came out and or was coming out they didnt just have the movie but they made godzilla toys and all other shit for the 1998 godzilla remake

  • @EchoBoomer1987 agreed!

  • I like Rage against the Machine, I had this album. Bought it prior to the release of the movie. Hard to believe it's been 12 years since it came out... Now we have an American Remake Coming under the studio that did ''The Dark Knight an 300'' movies in 2012. So here's hoping it will be better, The concept art already looks great.

  • Godzilla, pure motherfucking filler, get your eyes off the real killer.

  • badass

  • Sounds like something out of Street Fighter!

  • Gotta love the outro..

  • When was this song used in the movie? I don't remember it.

  • THE THIN LINE BETWEEN ENTERTAINMENT AND WAR. Just stare and live the nightmare.

  • No sorry.... I did not watch the first part of tha movie.

  • I think i understood the thing with the filler. This movie is a bit...just to be. Just to be a movie. I don't know how to say.

  • What did he mean filler?

  • @mihaidestroyer

What he meant by "filler" is something which is commonly refered to something having 'no substance'. The original Godzilla movies were a warning against industrialization and how nuclear technology & such will come back to hurt us, hence the birth of Godzilla as the ultimate metaphor, and in America, for example, he's just seen as a random beast we must all defend ourselves against. It's pure filler, a useless time-wasting no-substance film.

  • @m0bi huh. i never knew that.

i must admit i do remember watching a japanese Godzilla film and it did seem that way.

the hollywood version is kind of ironic now that i think of it (always was a terrible movie though)

  • 12 years? DAMN!!!

  • amazing song!

  • nice

  • tom morello is awesome

  • @cheseeproductions DEFENETALLY ONE OF MY FAVORITES

  • this song is so fuckin dope!! the end riff makes me crazzy!!

one of my fav RATM songs...!

  • Exactly. Just want to go berserk and smash capitalism there in the end. Like. :)

  • I still have this Cd.

  • FK yeah!! if there were rave lights it would be godly! go GO GODZILLA!

  • when in the movie does it appear?

this song is one of the best!

  • RATM is sooo goood!

  • Great song, but why did someone have to associate it with this movie? Worst movie ever.

  • @DtaAtaVtaE rage was making a statement by putting this song on the soundtrack. Americanize . . . americanize... view the worth through american eyes. .. there's a thin line between entertainment and war. Rage is saying that america was disrespecting history by americanizing Godzilla, that was based on Hiroshima.

  • @strutnoodle

No, Rage was taking advantage of the fact that the company was paying them to make a song for them; By making a song that gets across their views about the movie industry. The song is about how the American empire uses entertainment to distract us from the real issues in the world. Note how they say "Amistad was a whip, The truth was feathered and tarred" If you do your research the song is about far more than just Godzilla.

  • @Hiturunk Godzilla was one example though, I don't think you need to do any "research" to understand the song. It speaks for itself and the video for the song gets some other points across too.

  • Of course you don't have to do research to understand the premise of the song; But there complexities that require a little looking in to.

    The video's pretty awesome too.

  • @strutnoodle

Good point! But it also says the American version is just to entertain and distract the people from the actual problems, "Godzilla, the pure mothafucking filler; Gets your eyes outta the real killer"

And the "americanize" part is more directed to the people who's supposed to "americanize", actually get assimilated in the faceless mass media "IV Reich" culture...

  • Hey..you got the lyrics wrong dude.

    American eyes, American eyes....

View the world from American eyes

Bury the past, rob us blind

    And leave nothin behind

I don't think this has anything much to do with the movie.

  • @MetaLX1985 it does have something to do with the movie, it's not all about the movie, but it's a good fuck you to toward it within its own soundtrack.

  • Perhaps...he attacked the movie in the song by saying Godzilla is a filler, and he sings "Cinema simulated life ill drama" and other movie related stuff...so perhaps he does have something against movies...but beside the Godzilla thing maybe its about movies in general, and it's contextual.

  • @MetaLX1985 american cinema remains propaganda, I think that's what they're getting at. Just look at american movies like Rambo and other one-sided views, american white power views. And american war movies, they dramatize our side of things and make the "enemies" well, look like enemies, rather than people in the same sick situation on both sides. I have yet to see an american war film that depicts war as simply disgusting, Inglourious Basterds did okay.

  • Ya..I understand about movies...thats why he sings " cinema simulated life/lie ill drama" which I kinda agree. Films/movies are essential entertainment and tool of influence anyway...but all these things that men do, goes back to the main cause, such as the evil spirits doing their job.

  • @strutnoodle Inglorious Basterds had nothing to do with any "real" war, and was completely dramatized for entertainment value as it has no historical accuracy. You apparently have not seen many war movies. Watch "Letters from Iwo Jima", "Flags of Our Fathers", "Saving Private Ryan", "The Thin Red Line" are all movies that show the gruesome aspects of war while showing the enemy as equals in a tough situation.

  • @TheDefecator Letters from iwo jima and thats it, after USA droped over Japan the only two atomic bombs used on civil population. And BTW i dont think letters from iwo jima got any oscar right? like i remember good morning vietnam not getting any oscar's. This last year dicaprio acted in another war movie that was showing both sides reality, but the one who got the oscar with no names won, why? we all know why, only one side get the prize, no mutter if is good or not.

  • @MetaLX1985 The song protests some corporate and imperialist aspects of American culture. The film godzilla was about the American bombing of hiroshima and nagasaki in WWII. The monster rose up as a result of the use of the nuclear weapons- and could be a critique of Japanese imperialism and war crimes or American imperialist war crimes.

  • RATM is the best band in F*** WORLD and everyone knows dat

  • Godzilla pure motherfuckin' filler

Get your eyes off the real killer

  • RAGE = HELLA DOPE/UNCUT

  • I LOVE RATM THEIR AWSOME

  • man.this song is awesome.awesome guitars...

  • Empty your pockets son!

  • Okay dude, calm down. No need to go overboard, ya hear? o_O

  • i remember this was actually a decent soundtrack back in the day

  • this song still rocks man damn!!

  • oh and before you got to dictionary dot comm to look up a bunch of fancy new words to type back to me to make yourself look all smart ..just don't cause I don't respond to retards who waste their time trying to prove a point on youtube ..a point I don't give a fuck about to read cause I don't give a fuck about you or your opinion and I certainly don't give a fuck about what you type back to me on youtube ..so instead of writing back just go kill yourself retard! :D

  • Says the hypocrite who does exactly what he's telling others not to do.

  • Democracy is a joke faggot

and whoever said RATM follows Anarchism?

When you claim to believe in Anarchy and all that shit you're following rules right there contradicting the meaning of Anarchy ..why would anyone point that out retard? usually when people come on a bands video they come to listen to the music they LIKE ..so stop bashing it ..if you don't like it ..GET THE FUCK OFF THE VIDEO AND GO LISTEN TO BRITTANY SPEARS YOU FAGGOT! ..bitch ..slut ..fuck you FUCKFACE! :D

  • Lol 5/5 for style.

but the political meaning of anarchy is not the literal meaning.

kind of like "liberal" (australian/english political sect)

  • panew. Got ears? "Godzilla, pure motherf~~~ing filler, get your eyes off the real killer." Never heard anyone running down a film like in a song on it's own S/T have you?

  • ANGER IS A GIT!

LA COLERE EST UN DON !

  • I always thought the lyrics were "See the world through American eyes, Americanise" - but Im wrong?

  • @LoomVideos well its probably a play on words

  • Rage was the last bastion of light against domestic tyrants.... and now Rage is no more.... Anarchy reign supreme, Democracy has had its chance!!

  • Yes, we are a republic not a democracy. Too bad no one knows what that is anymore.

  • No, actually ,we were made a Republic, but now were a democracy.

  • If you're American then you live in a democracy.

Also, weird that no one has pointed out the irony of rage against the machine - a band that claims to stand against capitalism and big business, doing a track for a major hollywood production that fucks over a previous lowbudget film line in order to appeal more to americans and make a bigger profit.

    Anarchism fail.

  • Yeah dude I was wondering why the soundtrack was called godzilla

until I noticed it was for the movie.

  • congratulations on being the first person ever to point out rage against the machine's music is distributed by way of the very capitalist system they criticize. how original. i'm sure the band would be stunned to hear such an idea, which surely they have never thought of themselves ever.

do you think if they had refused to submit a song for the godzilla soundtrack their absence would surely have spoken volumes? did you actually listen to the song, even?

  • Yes I did actually listen to the song (even!)

And I never said I was making an original observation did I?

Also, props on getting massively butthurt .

  • well said

  • Details like Constitutional Republic just confuse the sheeple. So sad, but I got a dope pair a Nike's on... The front line is everywhere.

  • rage is good... rage is god.!

  • i wish they were still making music one of the greatest bands ever

  • ME TOO!! ITS SAD!

  • yeah!!

  • I love the line "Americanize, Americanize

View the world from American eyes" very clever.

  • SICK!!!

  • Godzilla pure motherfuckin filler

Get your eyes off the real killer

  • "Empty your pockets, son They got ya thinkin that what ya need is what they sellin Make you think that buying is rebelling" "Hospitals not profit-full the market fools got pockets full To advertise some big disguise View the world through American eyes" Post 9/11 what did the Gov tell you to do? Buy. Now the health (s)care America with a k The front line IS everywhere End the Fed "Chained to the dream they got ya searchin' for the thin line between entertainment and war"
  • so u had to write the song... wtf??

  • the music made the fucking movie THE SHIT!

if there wasnt any ratm in it i would BLOW THE SHIT UP! or just not buy it

  • Hate the movie but I love the soundtrack. This song is one of my favorites and is how I got introduced to Rage Against the Machine.

  • Awesome song... love Brad Wilk's drumming.

  • I personally thought the movie was okay (even if it's bad) but the Godzilla sountrack was excellent... It made me like RATM a lot more... I love when he screams... reminds me of me...

  • this song was used for the commercial of wcw nitro back then in 98 :D

  • The people of this earth need to listen carefully to the ending of this song very carefully. This idea seems very abstruse and elusive to the human mind.

  • What other type of mind(s) have you come in contact that do not find the idea absturse and elusive?

  • Agreed. All of Zachs song are structurally set up the same way but they contain amazing new concepts and ideas in every one. The ends of his songs are always repetitive screaming but it is symbolic. Like he is shouting at people for not listening, for not getting it through their head. He does this is a very short sentence, usually like two words and it's so simplistic but so powerful.

  • they're only criticizing the flaws and errors of the government and trying to educate us on what we can do to combat the injustices that it's creating.

  • and how can we?

  • spred it

  • That is a perfect description of the bands intentions and message.

  • Comment removed

  • Then tell them if you know more.

  • What does this song have to do with godzilla?

  • Nothing--unless you count Zack's contempt for American indulgence in escapist Hollywood schlock at the expense of political awareness, as expressed in these lines:

    "Godzilla, pure motherfuckin' filler--

Get your eyes off the real killer."

Apparently Rage wanted to make the point that the Hollywood suits would do anything for a fast buck--even promote a song that ruthlessly criticized THEM. And--surprise--that's exactly what the suits did. Cumsuckers.

  • SoloAscent=nailed it. The lyric "the thin line between entertainment and war" is deliciously ironic as well. Develop the taste Jurassic!

  • @SoloAscent

    ;-)

  • @SoloAscent

That's when you refer to this song:

The (International) Noise Conspiracy: "Up For Sale"

    /watch?v=fwbleH55CCk

  • Comment removed

  • @SoloAscent

Good point. But if De La Rocha didn't give away 100% from the no doubt hefty payoff he got off this album he's a fucking hypocrite.

  • @MattieManhattan you have to allow them living expenses to get their message acrosss...it may be selling put but they have to use mass media to get to people

  • Lyrics nothing. Except for "there'll be shelter here" against Godzilla. RATM has a way of turning anything into politics.

  • thats why I listen to them zack's dad was artist he got it from his dad (wiki Roberto de la Rocha)

  • look at the musicvidRATM rules

listen to zachs political texsts and think just think about it ...

  • Just stare! and relieve the nightmare!

    Awesome :)

  • thats my FAVOURITE song!!!its epic!i love them!

  • great music byt unfortunately we can't see the original video in my country...:(

  • rage against the machine= the kings of rock

  • wow, first time iv heard this. pure rage aggresion. love it.
