Yeah you should always tip, the people serving you make less than half of minimum wage ie. $2.65/Hr $0.00 after taxes. You should stick with McDonalds.
Come on man, no employer would allow that, not to say I couldn't happen. The waiter would first of all, have to be deranged, and second of all why would anyone do that to you? Sure I've see vid. of it at Domino's, but if you go to a decent restaurant, and you are civil, it should never occur.(You create your own reality, through your expectations and beliefs -DVD=The Secret) This industry does need pay reform.But as it stands, now, You just shouldn't eat dine in if you can't tip appropriately.
ok, as in any other business, when u are treated rudely, what do you do? You complain to a supervisor. This could cost the waiter his job, as it should. But if you receive everything u asked for with the possibility of an over site here or there, and the server is trying to be cordial, and accommodating. U need to tip. Many people look for any excuse not to tip, that is just being cheap. It makes the difference of being a valued customer. or a despised customer. Don't u want to feel appreciated?
Former waiter says, If you don't like your job, waiting tables, quit. Food service is for people who like making others happy. It's not for shlubs and it's an art.
If you can't afford to tip, don't eat out.
And you F'ing a-holes! I'm not your slave! I'm a pro.
I have only been stiffed buy "African Americans" and white trash mothers with 10 kids
F*** that... sorry everyone, but let the people who hired you pay your salary. Tipping is supposed to be just that, an extra tip for good service... not something that should be expected even if service is poor.
I'm not a biggot i just wrote it as a smartass comment[not somthing i'mparticularley proud of]. i actually when i got the subject reply forgot what i wrote.
I didn't realize how much I was saving by not traveling! 10% use to be the standard . . . . with inflation it is still the same. Why tip at all for bad service. I don't mean if the waiter is trying and there are too many customers
Fuck tipping, employers should pay them right! Everything should included.

It was an extreme example - but my point is, if the waiter is rude to you the entire time or something, you shouldn't feel obligated to tip.

15% tip just for being served? Not if the service is poor. Tipping is to ensure good service, not to just be served.

I don't leave a tip if I don't like the food or service.
mockingarab 2 years ago
@rich0319726 I agree. I often don't tip.
