She obviously misjudged the situation and she should have apologized on-air to Kelly for having made that misjudgment instead of repeatedly saying that she was allowed to state her view. A simple, "I'm sorry for misjudging you Kelly. Thanks for calling and clearing that up," was definitely called for.
