  • Your tutorials are just great. I get a lot of help! Ačiu labai! :)

  • Lovvit! Great for learning how to pronounce some sentences I've learnt and taking it further. I've been using the Lithuanian Lingo Pal app on my ipod, but its said by a guy and also because what you want to say changes depending if you're referring it to a man or a woman so it's always confusing to whom I'm referring. Looking forward to watching the rest :D

  • @audrius009

neieskau as nieko ... o tu tik parodai lietuvos vyru 'supratinguma'! Nenuostabu, kodel lietuvaites ziuri i kitataucius.

  • seip sakoma, "As myliu tave" o ne "As tave myliu"

  • @FaziniSS O man, pvz., gražiau skamba "aš tave myliu", o ne "aš myliu tave". Skonio reikalas.

  • @cougarlt sutinku, skonio reikalas. Bet gaunas vertimas pazodziui :) O lietuviu kalba skamba graziaudiai, kai kalbi taisiklingai

  • @FaziniSS

  • @cougarlt

    Sutinku! :)

  • This is super helpful ! :) Thank you :)

  • Beautiful language. Greetings from Poland! Only one question - why on earth it's recorded on cemetery o.O

  • @wittwelsh

It is a nice cemetery :) more like a park :)

  • @kristytamo Understood :)

  • can u help me a bit. like why does tu(you) becomes tave? like as tave myliu?

  • @MrMuffinOle

    Think of word 'I'.

    I like you.

    You like me.

In english 'you' does not change in this case, but 'I' changes into 'me',

So in Lithuanian it is the same. 'tu' changes into 'tave'

  • @kristytamo cheers! i know what you mean. As tave myliu!!!

  • Perziurejau kelis video, puikus tarimas! :)

    P.s Labai grazi, tikra Lietuvaite!:)

    Thank you so much. xD

  • I think i love you please move to canada and marry me :)

  • love this tutorial :))

  • as tave irgi

  • tu manes nemyli..

  • It's very similar to Slavic languages: as tave miliu=az tebe milju(ljublju), flexion of the verbs is almost same: 1.-iju, 2.-iji(s), 3-iji, pl.1.-me, 2.-te, 3.-iju; Cheers!

  • labai daug ismokau,aciu.:))

  • i love you to :))

  • lith. ash tave miliu = czech ja te miluju, heh

  • man labai patinka kai mano mergina is Venezuelos man lietuviskai pasako "As tave myliu" :)

  • as tave myliu

  • i 'll like to know how to say will you marry me? thanks

  • aš tave myliu kristay, thank you for th language!

  • Can you say ...As myliu tave? I'm American...my father speaks Lithuanian...that's how he says the phrase! You have a bit of an accent so it's harder to understand what you say. I need to get a childrens book...this is soo hard! Thanks!!

  • @tinytoes409

Yes you can say As myliu tave. And As tave myliu. In Lithuanian the word order is not rigid. But it follows the logical stressing.

As far as I know I speak standard Lithuanian, I am from Klaipeda. And ppl in Klaipeda speak Standard Lithuanian. Definitely people from outside of the bigger towns have different accent.

Do not give up. It is fairly easy to just learn some phrases. But if you go deeper into the grammar it will be more complicated.

  • o pabuciuot tave galima? :)

  • :))) as irgi tave myliu :))))

  • @theakvile1

  • @elygumcdu

    Na neziurek jei nepatinka

  • oh lithuanian language is so weird and difficult to learn... you have to keep learning about 2 or more years, like my friend did.

  • @SurfingBunnyCstrike

Hi, I'm just teaching a little bit :) I'm Lithuanian.

  • @SurfingBunnyCstrike its impossible to learn it if you are not Lithuanian... you will never speak as Lithuanian... unless you are born there. Which I wouldn't like for foreign people to.

  • @MrAmethystium

It is possible to learn any language if you spend enough time studying it.

  • @MrAmethystium Dude, do people honestly even care to go or to learn lithuanian? Your GDP is -15% in the last fiscal year. LOL.

  • @TheAmericanDesi man atrodo is pavydo cia taip sneki. pacitavai GDP is kazkokio puslapio... tikriausiai wolframalpha, ir jautiesi protingas. Sveikinu tave kad nors angliskai sneketi moki... DUDE hahaha

  • @TheAmericanDesi

*sigh* everything is measured in money by "true americans". it will kill you...

  • @TheAmericanDesi GDP says nothing about Lithuanian people or their culture. I think you should be more tolerant.

  • excellent!...thankyou so much!...your student peter in milwaukee wisconsin usa

  • Aš būti myliu . Aš my lė ti. :D MY LĖ TI.

  • KIRTIS mYliu

  • myliu kirtis ant u

  • I love you too

  • As tave myliu, kristy! :D

  • I have been wondering how long it would be before you made a tutorial on love Kristina and its very nice :)A+++

  • I wonder to what extent would it be wrong to put the direct object after the verb in this case.

  • It would not be wrong as in Lithuanian word order differs on the things you want to stress.

However "Aš tave myliu" is more common and when learning this phrase everyone says this option first.

You could also say "Myliu tave" .

  • Yes yes, I knew that. I think I didn't make myself clear. What I wanted to ask is where that stress moves to. Would it be "aš myliu tave, o ne ją"?

  • In this case you would stress "tave" because you want to stress you love her not the other girl.

But as I said Aš tave myliu = Aš myliu tave

You can say both but the first is more common, but both are correct.

  • Alright, then for this verb, moving the direct object after the verb does not topicalise it.

  • Krista great vid as usual. I wonder how long it will be before you hear these words? I say them to my wife every day!

  • This was the first phrase I tried to learn but I got it all wrong, she laughed but told me the correct way after, where was you a year ago??? keep it coming its all good!!
