  • so you dont have to hit it... to hit it.

  • bullshit)) 3:47

40mm bofors AA-gun to pierce armor KA50. And in a helicopter and an airplane is not close to AA-gun. KA50 destroy any object at the distance of 10-12 kilometers. Encapsulated heavily armored cockpit and provides protection against armor-piercing bullets up to 12.7 mm and OFZ shells caliber to 23 mm. shooting at close range.

  • i like the impact function :)

  • thx to Sweden from India. India timely purchased bofors howitzers from Sweden. which proved to be a decisive weapon in India,s arsenal. in 1999 during kargil war there were bofors & pinaka mbrl which collectively ripped porki,s terrorist asses & broken their will to fight. 1000 thx to sweden from this Indian freind.

  • @gauravcurious Yeah i have read alot about the kargil war and im really impressed =) But why didn't india by a newer model from bofors, it performed best in all tests in India and still they went with a crappier manifacturer and model ?

  • @TheEupot India is possibly purchasing gripen from Sweden . howtizers India is purchasing this time from US. possibly M-270 towed howtizers. India will not purchase new models of Bofors but has already started indigenous large -scale production, which is very much similar to bofors models, that can be towed to any place even on steep hills. do u know we always keep way ahead of pakistani terrorists as pakistan is a known nuisance on earth & a back-stabber nation.:D

  • @TheEupot prior to Kargil war in 1999, there was a peace pact between India & Pakistan, which Pakistan deceivingly violated, & launched a massive attack on border-patrolling troops by heavy guns & mortars, than India launched a fierce joint attack by air force & army. at that particular time we used swedish bofors howitzers for the first time ever sice we purchased. also we used Pinaka mbrl of russian origen to thrash the enemies from seemingly impossible heights.

  • @gauravcurious THe Pinaka is not of Russian Origin but by our very own DRDO. And India is looking at M777 Howitzers, not M270, which are of British origin. Also.... The m270 is MLRS not an Howitzer. SAAB Gripen is out of the MMRCA race. which prolly means India is not getting it. No offence but yu have got a lot of facts wrong my friend. Please research, Jus a friendly Advice.

  • @Prashklop yes pinaka is indigenous but idea was taken from Russian Uragan, also we have smerch which is russian origen, smerch is deadly dangerous which can even destroy tanks & howtizers too.

  • @Prashklop @Prashklop i know gripen is out of race but that i did not want to dishearten that Swedish man that,s why lied to him.

  • @Prashklop i already knew that eurofighter typhoon & raffle has been finalized.

  • @TheEupot The Indian, Bofors guns are of the 1980's era in the Rajiv Gandhi period and caused quite a scandal, which is still going on. Most of these guns are not of good repair as Bofors corp has been blacklisted by the Indian Govt on charges of Corruption. Due to all this headache, the OFB has decided to make its own 155mm Howitzer and i am guessing, not sure, a 105mm field gun.

  • SHUT UP AND ENJOY THE MUSIC!

  • @robi4never ·_· ?

  • @sevjfoulke xD

  • oh thx god. we need more ammunition! cant wait to kill young man with it!

  • @vaio333 get better grammar and we might just listen to you complain

  • @Spike20TRILLION

Bofors is owned by a British company BAE.

  • @m52spy BAE Systems Bofors is a Swedish company.

  • @kgaboyz

BAE stands for British aerospace. The British company who owns BAE systems Bofors.

  • wow imagine 1100 arab soldiers each one poked in the head by one pellet

  • is this swedish soldiers ?

  • this is so wrong...

  • Let's see the agiainst an IBCM haha

  • Man, FUCK Bofors. How the hell am I gonna program this functionality into today's video games to make them at least a tiny bit realistic? Goddamn you, Sweden!

  • @NameNotAlreadyTaken2 I would LOVE to see this round in a game!! Like ARMA 2 or Battlefield 3

  • @Ze3g0

you may want to check out SteelBeasts(dot)com the CV9040 in the sim has the 3p round with all function simulated

  • Anyone who don't know the name of Bofors needs to get edumecated.

  • These things would do a number on some Somali pirates.

  • Biggest problem at 0:35 is probably getting whacked in the head by one of the casings on its way down.

  • Holy shit... I would NOT wanna be on the receiving end of one of those!

  • Paskaa kamaa

  • There's no kill like over kill

  • that is an extremely impressive round

  • 7 people are angry easterners that watched their beloved cgi ka-blow up.

  • At 0:32 I wonder if the shells hit that guys head twice..

  • Comment removed

  • fuck you americosi

  • want!

  • Isn't that the same gun than the well-known Bofors 40 mm gun from WW2 ?

  • @Briselance WW2- L60. This is the L70.

  • @TuAFFalcon

I checked. The old L60 is what's mounted in the AC 130, so the more exotic functions are not applicable. This explains why the must-see clips of them blasting terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan don't involve airbursting shots. Too bad, cause a handful of these suckers detonating ten feet overhead would be a dozen times more effective on jihadis in the open than impact-fuzed shells.

  • @pinz2022 Ye your right. There are few types of AC-130's though. They have different armaments. Air bust is much more effective then a round hitting the dirt and burying itself in then exploding. Also it causes unecesary damage to an urban area creating large craters. Air burst shot would leave small dents in comparison.

  • why would a modern army try to destroy ships? Just rent al kaida, and hit soft targets,

its cheaper, more effective, and erases morale hehe, joke right?

  • TV Shop should show this instead of some worthless crap!:D

  • only thing it can't do is suck your dick T_T

    lol jk

  • Nice

  • like to have one on my balcony...annoying neighbours, stray cats, door to door salesmen...mwahaha..

  • Killing has never looked so sexy.

  • Is this gun used by the Republic of Korea Navy?

  • Who's gonna buy anything from a country that has wooden helicopters :/

  • @aseglkj Static wooden helicopters are today's top killers.

  • Wow just wow.

  • Perfect countermeasure against stationary helicopters conveniently bolted to platforms in the middle of lakes.

  • @Golwe So true. modern guns designed in US and Russia many years ago have rate of fire up to 4000 rpm. It is the only way to be effective against modern jets and missiles.

This thing has rate of fire of some WW2 gun! Pretty useless.

  • @kosiak10851 This kind of gun is used on modern US aswell as Swedish ships. It's not useless in any way and even a 4000 rpm Gatling gun wouldn't do much against a hi-tech anti-ship missile. Would "only" be effective against WW2 japanese kamikaze pilots. The Bofors 3GP have fragmentation which covers a so much larger area than a CIWS

  • and sweden is a open country when it comes to selling stuff it doesnt matter if they are bad or good . its been like that since the vikings

  • Can you handle all these functions?

  • Giuen Outright Google Groups

    Defense & Security Application Forum

  • how much cost one bullet?

  • now gonna buy it on the nearest WARMART

  • get it for only 9.99 $!!!

  • I've always loved Swedish tech.

    Innovative, practical, deadly.

  • A good tactical weapon of quality will allways be better in the long run than a lower quality mass produced weapon. For several reasons, more reliable, better accuracy, you name it.

Also this shell is good because of it's multipurpose use.

  • I don't see future of Boforos 40 mm and 57 mm guns against aircrafts because in modern warfare it will be impossible to locate a jet in altitude because modern jets ,transport planes and bombers will fly only in very high altitude...

Bofors guns will be useful only on the ground but it doesn't have any chance against modern aircraft.

  • Sweden:

    Quality - Very high standard

    Quantity - Over normal standard

    USA:

    Quality - High standard

    Quantity - High standard

Just what I belive and think it is.. Well I know Sweden is the best on stealh and weapons and radar systems. Or to "best", for those who might dissagree we can say "very good".

  • @911205KW Actually due to recent cuts our quantity is far below normal standards. Our quality was world number 1 in the past but due to recent cuts in for example BAMSE AA missile we are just high standard now :(

We still got stealth planes and stealth boats and best tanks tho :P

  • @omfg4000 > Well, the army defence have seen better days and the change is wide to say. But why should Sweden have an army structure based on past history with no enemy to base their need? Sweden doesn´t need to defent it self.. I thing it´s great to focus an army for specific use like global help and support and maket sell, like weaponds and transport an more. To fight for FN, EU and other who need supply. Help the world, not it self. Sweden is fine :)

  • @911205KW FN sucks, EU sucks. Why should we fight imperialist wars over their policy demands in foreign countries that increase the security threat against us? Pfft.

  • @omfg4000 > Sure, but what can we do? stand as a neutral country and talk our way out and say "hey, we onely take care of our problems, our army and we do what we want with it, and if you want help, we don´t care".. Every one look at Sweden as a peacefull, sharing, supporting and helpfull country. Thats how the history is and still is.

  • @911205KW > We never in war, we don´t make one, no one gives us a war. No reasons either. But we have to do something with what we have. We use it for good, thats give us respekt and good global reputation. thats at least we can do after our bad actions in WW2. Any one agree?

  • @911205KW what did we do wrong in ww2?, except that we let Hitler's Army go through Sweden to reach Norway or Finland

  • @Scania4life > Long story, we where to kind and did to many quick actions and well.. To afraid to act.. Weapond sell.. I´m not 100% sure but the world have their toughts.

  • @911205KW Don't forget that we where neutral

  • @Scania4life > No I know that, but no exactly the way like other nations.. Sweden where more than just a neutral part. The Germans had a diffrent view of our stand during the WW2, And they use it. Every thing where not quite as the plan, if you know what I mean. Many details.

  • @911205KW

Sweden supplied the Nazis with Metals during the war, iron, copper, steel.

Whether they were forced or not, still bad. Should of said no.

  • @Reddoguk

Wrong. Sweden did not supply anyone. Sweden sold raw metal to both sides of the war. Nazi germany as well as the alliance.

If Sweden had decided not to sell to one of the sides, our mines would have been bombed to prevent the other side to gain an advantage. Either by the alliance or by the nazis.

    Simple as that. Clever move...

  • Really cool...but I like the idea of a "flying shotgun shell" even better.

  • демонстрация и реальное применение 2 разные вещи...

  • They should definetly put this on the Bradley.

  • Do they use it in iraq?, i think they should.

  • For what exactally?? To shoot IED's??

  • @rotorpilot82 that and the sandniggers,

  • Cool, too bad our armed forces don't even have money to buy that kind of thing.

  • i woud like to see a 40mm chain gun as secondairy weapon on a 155mm pantzerhowitzer and a gau 12 as a coaxial machine gun

  • that would rape just about everything, but think about weight, and think of all that ammo you'd have to carry. I am not an expert but it would probably be a logistic nightmare.

  • not if you woud it make somewhat longer and no to for to much armour

    slower but it woud work

it woud have all the suport thats needed

  • So is feeding Rosie O'Donnell, but they manage to get it done, even if they have to sacrafice a few stage hands some days..

  • Sweden dosnt make much war material but when we do its very very good war material.

  • @Gurkmomma

    well history showd us

quantity is more important than quality..

  • @gazakind I think That is why it's fireing so fast;)

  • @Gurkmomma hmm quality over quantity, russia has the opposite philosophy.

anyway, this looks like a ad, is it a commercial for governments to buy it??

  • @Gurkmomma Very true

  • @Gurkmomma Actually Sweden is the second-largest weapons exporter per capita in the world and 11th over all. They make LOTS of weapons.

  • @Gurkmomma Another well made product, the AT4.

  • @Gurkmomma Excuse me. Its the worlds second largest weapon producer after usa as far as I know.

  • @Gurkmomma except for the collins class submarine

  • @Gurkmomma Well... we do have one of the largest weapon exports of the world...

  • That is awesome, the more I see of Bofors, the more I like them.

  • if this is avaiable for purchase, im gonna put it in my backyard to keep out intruders or annoying bastards who like to take my parking space!!!

  • available at your local walmart

  • @lexmark136 No, local IKEA.

  • Actually - only in Sweden. The americans are testing it...

  • only in america right..?

    heh?

  • Nah, Swedish.

Bofors does make some awesome things.

  • I read somewhere that canada might be considering the CV9040 as one of it's next vehicle purchases...

Hope so, we deserve somecutting edge gear like this!

  • noob! but, all sides used bofors 40 mm at WWII, but not this version

  • nt all, anyway i posted that comment 3 months ago, irrelivent.

  • sweeeeeet

  • those are some bis-ass shells

  • I have one, not the biggest, but pretty big

  • At :53 you can see a cone-shaped space between the fuse and the charge... That's not supposed to act as a shaped charge, is it? It's a fragmentation shell.. Or it there for more surface area for better ignition?

  • wow, that looks pretty lethal. wouldnt like to be within target range ^^

  • Reminds me of those crappy videos I watched in shop class.

  • Dont forget to Install Antivirus before firing... LOL

  • lol, i can just imagine how fast a battle would be won by the force with this profectile in their arsenal

  • Strange that you never see proximity-fuze ammo like this being used in those AC-130 terrorist-busting clips.

  • actually on AC-130 gunships they have begun to use the 3P now. that and magnesium shells.

  • They were changing the Bofors L/70 to Bushmaster II but AFSOC canceled its plans to install the new cannons on its fleet of AC-130Us. It has since removed the guns and re-installed the original 40 mm cannons and returned the planes to combat duties.

  • the AC-130s (H and U) had old Bofors L/60s on them. I heard they were changing them to the L/70s (the reason the 3p came into use recently, since the L/60 doesn't have the tech. to program the 3p) but I was not aware the L/70s were not on long enough to be switched out, and replaced again... when did they even finish the switch to the L/70?

  • If i remeber right they wanted to replace the Bofors guns becuse of the long delivery time of spareparts, so the bushmaster they get the sparepart faster to keep the birds in the air. Dont remeber exactly why they change their mind.....

  • does the bushmaster support the 3p's programming? and you seem knowledgeable on Ac-130s, so I have a question. Does the Army Airborne divisions have any? or is it just the airforce?

  • Not sure but i think its only Bofors L70 that suports 3P....

Hmm im just interested and thinks the AC-130 is a great plane but what i can see is it just the USAF that uses the aircraft.

  • I guess the DIVADS/Sargent York was just too far ahead of it's time to be practicable. The proximity-fuzed 40mm ammunition, circa 1980 was just too unreliable.

  • hahahah i have 1 like that

  • man that is some good shit, lets hope those fuckin ragheads have already had the pleasure of meeting it 1st hand

  • fyfan, det är kraft i det där!

  • It's not new...

  • no, the video is rather old...

  • It isn't that old, to be honest. That's what makes it funny.

On the other hand, the round is seriously good though.

  • Awesome, it's like programming a VCR except if the date stamp is wrong you kill yourself.

  • WOW this is too crazy, 1100 fragments. Those Swedes and their inventions lol.

  • ah the wonders of modern technology :)

  • the music, apparently created by the guy who brought you "How YOU Can Prevent Sexual Harassment in the Workplace" (c. 1982), really complements the images, at least tripling the "shock and awe" factor of this video.

in all seriousness, though, that's some amazing devastation they've got going there.

  • Lol those spent shell casings go flying out of that thing. It would suck to get hit by one Or even worse be on the recieving end of that thing. Its awesome.

  • very interesting

  • crazy bullet.

  • That is some AWESOME Swedish smartness!

  • thanx for the upload its awsome.
