  • Steady I Really Like This Video Conscious breathing

  • I Really Like The Video From Your Pranayama is loosely translated as prana (pra-aana) or breathe control. Breathing affects our state of mind.

  • Your Video Is Very Useful Sharing or the yogic postures, it is vital that you start with the practice of Pranayama

  • Anyone got some suggestions of relaxing music like in this video.

  • love the video really good

  • very interesting thanks

  • Cool thanks didn't know about the out breadth to in breadth ratio

  • cool:)

  • this reminds me of Lee's chakra gates lol

  • I like how buddhist and hinduist traditions have knows the effectiveness of these methods for thousands of years, while the western world only recently have found out about them.

  • @GodOfUnbelief Not only that, many westerners use techniques like this purely for weight loss and fitness ignoring the other beneficial exercises.

  • NICE VIDEO. V

  • nice

  • Awesome!!

  • Hey thanks for this...great video

  • I feel as smooth as a sleeping baby.

  • CO2 is not a toxic gas it performs dozens of vital functions in the human body. If CO2 drops 4 times below the norm (40 mm Hg partial pressure), we die in minutes. Overbreathing REDUCES brain and body oxygenation, while the ideal automatic breathing pattern (for maximum body oxygen levels) is only 3 tiny breaths per minute. Ancient Hatha yoga books teach opposite ideas: breathe less, restrict, restrain the breath. Search the web for "Buteyko discovery yoga breathing". It is all perverted here

  • @artour2006 Hey thanks for this.. after reading this I looked up more info about Buteyko.. wonderful results.. meditating in the red rock mountains for 8 hours.. slowing breathing.. as big exhales and inhales would be my norm.. now I feel really still, calmer, and almost don't need to breathe much at all.. still I use both techniques.. kundalini breathing for cleansing.. and shallow breathing for stillness silence within.. :) namaste friend.

  • Does someone here practice testicular breathing? because I would like to ask some questions about it...

  • @Didi972 She might have the answers to your questions: watch?v=jzTYCVIj6GY (This specific explanation applies to both men and women.) ☼

  • This is bullshit. Whenever people say "Feel light", they mean "Knock yourself dizzy by breathing"

  • thank you soooooooooooo much! great info.. exactly wut i was looking for! :)

  • We hit it off so well after another visit busizz4me.info

  • This is great, thank you for posting this.

    The Wizard of BOD

  • I do Sa-ta-na-ma chant on the exhale. This is another technique to help focus the mind on something other than the thought loops.

  • What do u mean by "true self" :)

  • @meonguyenvn People may have different understandings of the term "true self," but from what I understand it is the silent listener. Your mind always makes noise and when you listen to these thoughts as they arise its almost as if there are two of you and you are listening to the noisy one. The noisy one is not the "true self" simply because it attaches to external labels and forms which are not "true." They are merely forms. There is much more to explain that but I hope these words help.

  • BEAUTIFUL! PLEASE POST MORE OFTEN!

  • This is the funny thing about meditation videos, they stop at the point of "light and lighter" and you assume that's the climax of it. Meditation is considered to be the path to astral travel, body cleansing,Chi strengthening,Chakra strengthening, and even obtain answers to questions we think impossible to be answered,or that sometimes,we even forget to ask ourselves.

    Peace

  • So much to rememberize this is making me anxious

  • why is he always built like a shit house

  • conscious breathing ruined my life, now I have to manually think to take each breath, i hate it

  • @brocktherock68 lol XD

    btw dont hate.

  • @MegadethSpiT i'm getting over the conscious breathing thing for the most part, but the second i think about it, i have to manually start breathing again, sucks. happens when i go to bed usually.

  • @brocktherock68 that happened to me for a bit , you just have to let go of it again , it will happen just try to think of something else

  • @frankvaccaro i did pretty good today. also helped that doc gave me some anxiety meds. they have actual OCD meds if i truely need them, but they wont give them to me till i see the psychiatrist next week.

  • I feel sleepy when i do that :P

  • Nice video, thanks.

  • ahhahahahahahhahaha

  • @antlaw68 lmfao i most likely was high i meant i gets a natural feeling when i smoke the ganja/hemp. like I'm having now =)

  • when i like relax or something.. i feel this .. "vibration" throughout my body :P

  • in reality, exessive oxigen is harmful for body. what we need is CO2 - carbon dioxid, which was already proven sientifically especially by professor Buteiko who developed his method and cured hundreds of thousand people. Forcing oxigen into newborns and hospital chambers killed many patients. Too deep breathing is harmful. To be healthy we need to breath "liek a mouse", that it breathing must be undetectible.

  • @NonEvernoThing Uh, close, The air we breathe only has about 18% oxygen, the rest is Nitrogen and CO2. SO any breathing technique could in no way deliver 'too much' oxygen.

  • ur breath should down ot the stomach

  • this is great advice, breathing is so important for us, i breath everyday now, this videos almost as good as the one where the girl tries to teach us how to walk properly,i think i might make a video of me teaching people how to sleep,

  • are u kidding me?? that thing called asana?? in Greek, breathing is called Ανάσσα "anassa"

  • Yes. Its a good stress reducer. Good for the blood pressure too--especially with those who have heart problems. Pranayama is quick to get yourself in a relaxed state.

  • For more info on body functionality, health and fitness. Check out my profile or ask me questions.

  • lovely video, all you can say in that period of time and with good graphic and idea, i recomend the art of living courses to know more

  • fuck with this reductionuts video how does it is supposed to help when it is reducting a whole philosophy to a simply 5 step method of breathing. this is stupid even with the robotic animated human.

  • Hi friend, If somethink come good accept or leave it. you can tell the people how to improve. pls don't use badwords when you use bad word or actions first you effected think about that. thanks

  • Prana for relaxation and stress reduction.

  • haha, the presentation is funny. very 2010 if you know what i mean, but super informative, direct, and effective. picked up some stuff alot of yoga teachers dont mention and all without the pedantic tones.

  • good good air

  • wow

i was doing everything automatically after a little bit

  • I love this video, it is very clear, and short - just right for viewing before sitting for 30 mins. of quiet time.... thank you for creating it! (I must admit, the voice is a bit incongruent with the content, as cspace1234nz stated... nevertheless - I love it! Wishing all a peaceful, energized day....

  • Good graphics.

  • There is something not quite right about this video.

The actual content is very good but the practitioner demonstrating seems very sort of....rigid and uptight ??

  • Haha.

  • Wow,that was amazing, i'm easily hypnotized though, and although i'm not trying to say there is a deffinant connection, meditation is much like hypnotizing yourself.

  • Comment removed

  • yes, but when you are hypnotized by a hypnotist, you are under the influence of the hypnotist.. when you meditate you are under the influence of... cosmos...

  • That's a really cool Idea. I wonder what whikn replied that got removed...?

  • I agree!

  • @CalebHayesInc I think it's possible that self-hypnosis can be very beneficial. :)

  • I know another way of getting rid of toxic gases, but I'd probably get kicked out of yoga class for doing it too loud. :D

  • I practice yoga and 'your method' frequently. I'm getting negative reactions from 'your method' (though seems convenient and doesn't require hips of practice, just social courage!) :-)

  • @DumbDuck44 lmfao!!!

  • @DumbDuck44 Actually not. In my class, farting is a natural byproduct of proper abdominal breathing.

Worrying about gas is an American phenomenon.

Go ahead...let 'er rip! I'm serious.

  • @DumbDuck44 wow i watched this vid and did everything it said and i felt better, then i scrolled down and saw your comment and it put a big smile on my face haha, thats all you need when you feel stressed out and worried, some yoga and a good laugh

  • wow people please do not over analyze this

  • GO TO LIFEBLISSFOUNDATION blog on youtube... and on that search for "HAMSA mantra"

  • I get these feels natural when I smoke marijuana.

  • @UnderstandingAll and how about smoking and working out (gym)but @ the same time

  • @respectxtimes777 that's setting yourself up because your body in whole every aspect of your existence is needed to get a complete training experience. Full mind body and spirit. So smoking and working out @ the same time which I think is a fat blunt lit in your mouth & your doing a lets say a 250 pound chest press isn't the best idea because your body needs the oxygen plain & simple. I smoke apparently & I do it quite frequently. Herb 4 Life.

  • @UnderstandingAll I like the experience of breath work and meditation after I smoke. Or even with an ingested sacrament. I find that it is a tool to get me to the space more quickly.

  • @UnderstandingAll If you have to smoke to get it, you aren't getting is as naturally as just by, breathing. I love the weed, but it's not the same. Allow yourself a period of time when you try the breathing without the weed. Just breathe in the AM and save smoking for the PMif you must to start. At least have that time to feel the power of the oxygen and what else can be released. It's pretty beautiful to feel.

Then you can decide for yourself which way to feel!

  • hey i know how u feel when u smoke marijuana u fell unconscious

  • @UnderstandingAll

He who claims to understand surely doesn't know. I smoke sometimes too, but pranayama involves training you're mind. There's a big difference between being still and doing nothing.

  • @GunTotinHippie hey mister Hippie!

Who is u 2 tell me that my claims of understanding is invalid.

I smoke alots and I can tell u my mind is working and very active

xspecially when I think pot dreams or Herb day dreams as I call it

allows me 2 see d unseen my mind becomes Still n my body Does nothing!

    Thank u for your comment.

  • @UnderstandingAll

yes true, but the fact is when you use marijuana will keep you in this state temporarily. It does not have the power to permanently maintain this state.

  • isnt this just basic meditation? silent meditation is pure meditation

  • No my friend, Meditation has no limits. There is nothing called pure and impure meditation. osho has defined more than 100 meditation.

One of them is dynamic meditation which you need to jump, cry, laugh and do what ever you want and you know it will comopletely transform one to a new era. This particular meditation were been under research for its effecitiveness in so many places. kindly check that out.

  • 1st class video. Very well explained. Simplicity. Peace & blessings

  • great video

  • na i wouldnt be maybe its your consiousness telling u ur relaxed..im not an expert but i have that happend to me but i smoke weed aswell as meditating to center myself but neways

  • In your case it's probably normal...

  • I hallucinated during this. . .should I be concerned?

  • its real simple just focous on your breathing for the first 25 times inhail and exhail after that just let ur mind go and it you start to have ur mind on smething else just focous on ur brathing again!

  • really beneficial video ..cheers guy's ...a spliff is nice too whilst doing so wow but then the thoughts of amsterdam haunt me :)

  • great!

  • Carbon Dioxide is not toxic. When oxygen goes into your body, it is used and transformed into CO2. It is not toxic, it is a natural part of our system.

  • yeh but it is a waste product of cellular respiration that we need to get rid of.

  • No, carbon dioxide IS toxic. Thats why we exhale it. If carbon dioxide remains in the body w/o going out, then it is unhealthy for the body.

  • Great video.

  • thank you for this. great advice on breathing when meditating. you explained even the little details

  • Kleinbottle. I do mean this in a respectful way. I feel a lot of negative energy in your criticism. I find that a yogi does not have this same negative energy. I wonder how one possess, being a long time practitioner and seemingly knowledgeable student of Yoga. Yoga is about peace withing the body mind and soul as one. Negativity denotes such processes of obtaining this unity. I feel to much of negative criticism. Peace to you all! Shanti.

  • Just as simple as this video. Breathing is the essence of life and it cleanses you both physically and mentally. There is no questions that it filters your body of toxins ect. Also filtering your mind of spiritual toxins essentially. Thus, all you do is breathe and relax.Clear the mind. Do not analyze and over think. It is self defeating. It is contradicting the whole purpose.Remember the key is simplicity. The way...is no way. Un-complicate life.

Shanti Shanti to all of you!

  • Thank you for sharing alienx76.

  • Great info and video presentation.

    Thanks for sharing

  • can u really float? o.o

  • You dont >_> Unless your REALLY high then maybe you THINK your floating >_>

  • Yes you can float!....... But you're gonna have ta smoke quite a bit of cannabis before you start mediating though...

  • Not true darling. All you have to do is really get into it. I have never smoked anything or done any drugs and when I meditate or do the deep breathing I feel like I am above the clouds. I don't lose awareness of where I am as if I am not on earth. This happens with many months of practice.

  • Ive had surgery on my nose. It was suppose to be a minor surgery it completely changed my life. The ENT doctor had no undestanding of how the breath and the mind are connected. He touched structures in my nose called turbinates that made my breaths more shallow, and destroyed my concentration. My life was torture since the operation. Appreciate your breathing and be careful when you have surgery. I went in for a deviated septum and the surgeron touched my turbinates.

  • Are you being serious? If so then wow.

  • yes

  • Did you find any information about how this works. Supposedly, during a 90 minutes cycle, the dominant hemisphere of the brain shifts from left to right and back. When it does, it becomes easier to breathe through the corresponding nostril. So if one turbinate was reduced, could it mess up a balance of some sort? Did you mean that he touched them, or removed them. Hmm, interesting.

  • he cauterized both of them i suffer so much everyday. My breath is more shallow and my heart beat is racing, i have extreme concentration problems. I do different things to reduce the symptoms. I take cold showers with deep breathing , i medidate, and do accupuncture, and i do energy work, and take supplements. Its crazy some of these people after the surgery i find out commit suicide or are in psychiatric facilities, and the ents who do this surgery ignore the patients suffering.

  • Thanks for Pouring lights on the basics of pranayama,

if it is mainly about breating and body posture, it is quite natural that Chest expands while taking breath in (inhale) and Contracts while breathing out (exhale)

can you please Explain what should be the Movements of our Stomach during inhale and exhale,

as During Kapalabharati it is told to have our Stomach inwards at breathing out and its quite contradictary to normal Pranayaam

must a person avoid doing both ?

    Regards

    Sathish

  • you are right, sir

  • thanks

  • Great video for beginners and people that want to learn how to do proper breathing.

  • This isn't proper breathing. Observe how babies breathe, and you will see the proper way.

Also, the correct pronunciation of pranyama is (pranam). You don't vocalize the "y" or the "a" at the end.

  • You must be an expert, however, there are many people looking for something to practice. In comparison, this "incorrect" way of breathing is much better for the body than the practice of smoking cigarettes, or the practice of chugging beers. Are you from India? Find somewhere else to post your expertise.

  • You are right to question me. I was originally born in Calcutta, India. I've been practicing yoga and meditaiton for 5 years, and breathing exercises for 4 years. I learned everything from my grandfather, who learned from a saddhu.

People who practice incorrects methods, negatively activate their kundalini energy. This leads to all kinds of psychosomatic illnesses, which western medicals doctors have no idea how to treat.

  • Of course you wouldnt have any peer reviewed research to back up these contentions.meditation and mindful awareness have some proof from psychology but the energy stuff and underlying eastern theory holds no ground in science.

  • Check out Bjorn Nordenstrom, Robert O. Becker, Louis Kervran, Jacques Benveniste, Charles G. Abbot, Irving Langmuir, Dayton Miller, Halton Arp, Hannes Alfven, Frank Brown, Giorgio Piccardi, Wilhelm Reich, and James DeMeo.

It is important to keep an attitude of a philosophical skeptic(aka zetetic), when researching topics that are not taught by mainstream institutions. Listening to the "experts" can be problematic, because most of them suffer from idolatry, and don't practice pragmatism.

  • Hello my friend,

i practice yoga too, but what happens when you activate your kundalini negatively?

    Regards

  • You can acquire all kinds of psychosomatic disorders, which could result in physical pain, depression, anxiety, sensitivity to sense perceptions, etc. It's easy to avoid it. Just make sure you are not slouching while you meditate. And, I also suggest you learn self hypnosis, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Acupressure, and Emotional Freedom Techniques. These tools are better for treating psychosomatic disorders, if they ever pop up. A medical doctor won't be able to help you with that.

  • I use this video whenever I have the urge to complain about a chore somebody gives me.

  • The bald cgi guy is breathing improperly. On the inhale the abdomen should extend outward, and on the exhale it should crunch inward. The guy in the video is breathing with his chest and not his diaphragm.

  • Hello klein do you have any suggestions to practice diaphragm breathing ? thank you,it would be great

  • You have to learn how to crawl before you can learn how to walk. Meaning, you have to become aware of your breath before you can control it. You can do this with daily meditation. When you are able to sit comfortably in a meditative pose for 20 minutes, then you can start these exercises.

It seems that the western way wants to get from a to z, without going through b,c,d,etc. You must let go of your attachment to the final outcome, and focus on the process. Don't worry about breathing.

  • This is great for people who have panic attacks and other stress!

  • This video is clear and helpful to watch. Good basic lesson.

  • great jai guru dev

  • maybe kundalini energy, that starts under the back

  • I have a problem! i feel some energy on my lower back , more exactly in my nadis i think. but i gest dont know i dont feel that is right!

  • hey im a kid (im not jkin im 13) and the doctors dont know wat i have they thnk i need to relax (anziaty) attacks i cant take it eny more! my breathing is there eny1 that can help me learn how to control it plz if u want more info its like this ex: i feel like im not getting enough air in my lungs and i get the erggg to yawn alot plz respawn. thank you

  • Start out with some meditation sitting in a comfortable position - not the lotus pose. After 10 minutes, or whatever you can do, lie flat on your back and relax for 2 minutes. Get up in a comfortable sitting positon, back straight, and do some deep breathing.

    Abdominal

Inhale = stomach extends out, then the chest

Exhale = chest contracts in, then the stomach

A couple times a week and you'll be fine.

  • Just another note, when you meditate your back has to be straight and upright, with your chest jetting out a little. It's very important that your comfortable while doing this. DO NOT OVER EXERT YOURSELF. While you meditate, you can chant "show" on the inhale, and "hung" on the exhale.

  • Meditate everyday, but not the deep breathing. Only when you are able to sit upright comfortably and meditate for 20 minutes, will you be able to start the deep breating everyday, before meditation. All the sessions you do should be finished by lying flat on your back for 2 minutes, and repeating the chant.

  • Did you mean "So" "Ham"

  • should I be in haling and exhaling through my nose or mouth or both?

  • Use your nostrils for slow deep breathing. Read the rest of my comments on this video for further clarification.

  • When you breath in through your nostrils, do you let the air out through your nostrils or through your mouth?

  • Breathing through your mouth while taking fast chestal breaths, will raise your bp and heart rate. Very slow abdominal breaths through the nostrils, will relax you.

    Abdominal

Inhale = stomach extends out, then the chest

Exhale = chest contracts in, then the stomach

    Chest

    Inhale = chest extends out

    Exhale = chest caves in
