The Aventador costs over $330,000. While the GT-R is $94,000. You could tune the GT-R to be faster than the Aventador and have a total price of car and all for around $180,000. So technically, if I had the money for an Aventador, I wouldnt buy either one. Id go for a Shelby GT500 and soup it up. :D American Muscle baby.

Nissan shocked the world with the GTR.... but if you look at the future Audi, Lamborghini, Porsche.... they're taking Nissans success to build their own GTR killers. New R8 will have DCT too, Gallardo replacement will have ISR, 991 Turbo will be amazing.... they will all have launch control and shift in super milliseconds... the only difference is that the GTR needs a weight loss program and those other cars don't... sorry but the GTR is done

What would happen if its competitors used the same technology on their lighter cars? the GTR is fine example that you can make a "heavy bitch outsprint runners", but like i said put the same technology in the runners then its bye bye betty! I think in the next few years the GTR's weight will be a huge disadvantage when everyone is using the same tech! 3800lbs GTR with DCT vs 3200lbs nex gen. R8 with DCT... game over..... cheers!

If others can make something similar to the DCT gear box of the Nissan GTR they will be very strong.. But you are forgetting a hugh factor here 4wd and gearing...On the other hand Nissan don`t want to be compared to insane bhp cars.. they only said: If we can, we should...Meaning the purpose of the GTR was>: heavy load good on track.. of course the weight is an issue LOL

People who put GT-R against real supercars, need to start using their brains. I bet everyone uses Nurburgring as a benchmark...which is wrong. Completely wrong. Why? Because GT-R on Nurburgring was driven on semi-slick track tires and by a prof. test driver and engineer, a guy who made the chassis and tuned the car, and he could take it to very limit. Then people compare that lap time to lap times from other cars, which were driven by CAR JOURNALISTS, who have no skill to push to limit.

in the new EVO magazine, the AVENTADOR pulled on the mclaren...straight line and around the track...10.33 in the 1/4 is nothing to laugh at...INSIDELINE ran a mercedes sls amg + porsche 911 gt2 RS against the AVENTADOR and it pulled badly on both, standing mile...this lambo is all that and is much better then previous models.

@RushingBean No car is designed for drag racing. Man...GT-R fanboys need to pull their heads out of their assholes. Its not as fast as you think. Aventador will do a 7:10 lap time around Nurburgring without slick tires, GT-R does 7:20 WITH slick tires, and 7:38 without slick tires. I think the only fanboys worse than GT-R ones, are Corvette ones, and that says a lot. Even japanese race drivers (best motoring) admited that GT-R is not a supercar and cant be compared to Gallardo.

Its a car that will allow you to do 2-3 fast laps on track, then it will slow down, because its too big, too heavy, tires and brakes will start to fade.... Aventador is proper supercar. Its not tuned over the limit, it produces its speed naturally. You put GT-R and Aventador in a 10 lap race on any track and see who wins. Even most basic Gallardo beats GT-R on tracks....

Awesome video! From the sound of the CBA GT-R it was stock (so 485 HP). I would be interested in seeing what a tune and exhaust GTR could do (although it would still lose as the Aventador is trapping 135 MPH and mid 10's in the 1/4). A Switzer P800 should do it - It would be a great race! (And lets be fair, although UGR makes 1500+ awhp set ups for Lambos - this is a 400K car to start with).
