GHW Bush said "Read My Lips, no new taxes!" and had to raise taxes to control the national debt after Reagan ran up the credit cards. Whoever gets in office this time will have to, it's just a matter of who pays. I've never seen us fighting wars and not raising taxes to pay for it or instituting the draft. No wonder our debt is so high. Low wage workers still pay into the tax system everytime they shop, as a percentage of their income, sometimes as much or more taxes than the rich.
I take the middle road, there are policies that both republicans and democrats put forth that can be equally right (or equally wrong!) In this case, I think that Obama is truly a visionary who is both capable and dedicated to making this a better place for all of us to live and prosper. I'm glad to see that people (of all parties) are getting it.
Nice. Blame the whole party. Do you REALLY think Obama can deliver and NOT raise taxes? Come on man. Do the math. A HUGE majority of people don't PAY TAXES anyway. If you get a REFUND you are NOT PAYING TAXES. Look at the angry black man for what he is; a friend of terrorists and angry blacks. If he wins there will be more disappointment than anyone can ever imagine and people will demand he leave office. He will NOT deliver and CAN'T even start to. Bad choice for America.
I, like you, am a life-long republican and I agree 100% with what you have posted. Hopefully, after this election we will get our party back from the likes of Sarah Palin, Sean Hannity, etc.
Go Doc! Thank God you are not all blinded by "Family Values" that the repubs tout as being important to them. 8 years of the biggest bilk in American HX, it is nice to know at least on republican finally got it.

Thank you so much for speak up. I do not agree with everything Obama has done but yesterday at rally for McCain and Palin i saw people yelling "kill him", and cursing the African American camera man who was filming the event. These are not the values of what was once such a respected Republican party. I had the utmost respect for what McCain lived through. And as the daughter or Marine, and the granddaughter or a world war 2 veteran, i must say these are not the actions of an honorable man. O/B
Very good insight, very nice man. Just please don't refer to other countries as "children". To see other countries as somehow underdeveloped is a disastrous distraction from reality. In fact, a lot of countries around the world have a higher standard of living than the US, better educational systems, better functioning democracies and much moor free and controversial press. If you look out of the box at times, you could actually learn something to make your own country better.
My father who died about 4 months ago who was a life long republican, voted for Bush both times, but supported Obama over any of the republican candidates that ran in this election. He like many other good republicans realized that the only way for america to improve is to break off from the policies they have supported the past 8 years. Obama is the perfect man for the job at this point in history, regardless of political affiliation.
I'm pretty moderate, not registered to any party. Liberal on some issues, conservative on others. I really respect the Republican party but I just hate to see where it's gone now.. Thanks to the guy in the video for standing up for what you believe is right.
The Republican party isn't the same as it was 30 years ago. The McCain campaign is on the ropes, and sadly it's no surprise they're responding with attacks and outright lies. John McCain and Governor Palin are setting a new low in presidential politics with their dishonorable campaign. It's clear why John McCain doesn't want to talk about the issues facing ordinary Americans -- especially the economy, which his own advisers admit he can't talk about without losing.
Wow an Obama supporter standing in front of the Republican Birth House...awesome. Im glad to know not all Republicans are so blind to see the truth. :D
YES! I'm from Waukesha, WI. (one of the highest republican voting counties in WI) And I'm so happy to see this! We just put up our signs today and I feel great. This is wonderful.
But Obama and America, don't talk about us in the rest of the world as your children. The countries don't need being isolated, but they need your respect too.
I understand Doctor, I used to vote GOP party line all the time except, thankfully, for George W. Many times I voted "R" on my ballot here in Missouri, but never again!
Wow, for a European this is really interesting: If you have a child who is misbehaving, you can't look the child up in the closet. This is the way Americans view us, the rest of the world, like their children. Wow.
I hope that more Republicans have the courage to stand up to their party and lean a new and different way this election. So many people feel they are betraying their party if they go the other way. They are really betraying their future this time if they don't.For his reason I am an Independant.I won't categorize myself to any one way of thinking.Come on Reps. Pull together and have a voice. Obama '08
It is imperative, that people go out and vote in force. The republicans need a time out, and a message sent to them, that the country is sick of their corruption, sleazy tactics, and that they have strayed from what they were supposed to be about. Vote in large numbers and send a message. Its not good enough to have Obama win the 270 required votes, you need to make sure to have YOUR voice heard.
i'm a proud liberal democrat. my wife is a life-long conservative republican. on november 4, we're both voting for Barack Obama and the great Joe Biden. and the doubters said we'd never find common ground:)
"I just have to rely on the good judgment of the voters not to buy into these negative attack ads. Sooner or later, people are going to figure out if all you run is negative attack ads you dont have much of a vision for the future or you're not ready to articulate it."
I love to see republicans turn the page on partisanship, and do what is best for the greater good of the country. Almost brings a tear to my eye.
The thing that stande out most about this video, is that this guy is not turning a blind eye and a deaf ear to the recent testimony of John Mccain. A testimony of above the fray politics that he has trashed, replaced with scandalous smear attacks all don for the sake of winning an election.
If you obvious want change to vote. If your state has early voting, do it early so you can drive others when election day comes to the polling place and second you get it out of the way and you don't have to wait in long lines come Nov 4th. All I can say is if you don't vote then it gives McCain a better chance of winning that state and the election. So if you don't want that to happen, go out and if can vote early and on Nov 4th take time out to take other to polling places to vote.
I'm unhappy with the way Senator McCain and Palin are getting in front of everyone and telling lies and half truths. Palin stands there laughing and she is so unqualifed to be President if the need accures
He makes a lot of sense. It's really quite ignorant to vote for someone just because you're a supporter of their political party. We should all look at the candidates for what they believe, what they plan to do, and if they have truly have any means of actually doing it. We shouldn't vote simply based upon political party. If everyone would practice what this man is doing, then we'd be a lot better off as a country.
I like how Republicans are seeing what's best for everyone. I want to see change in the next 4 years or maybe 8 if Obama goes for a second time. You don't have to vote for someone from the party you like but for what's best for not yourself but every living person.
The DOW was down another 700 points today falling below 8000 for the first time in more then 5 years. We need some one who can bring us out of the nightmare we face. The Republicans can't do it they created this mess were in. We need real "change" Obama/Biden 08
I really love the Logo / Identity! It's so creative and original and has a synergistic theme. I wonder who designed the logo and did the animation...!
That, and Midwesterners can connect with Obama unlike most candidates. And Midwesterners are the truest of Conservative GOP. HE WILL WIN THIS ELECTION!
This is great. I do not form to any certain party. I do not like most Republican politics. I do not like GWB at all. ANd McCain is going the wrong way. I live in Madison WI. A very liberal city overall, and I am very happy to see that people in WI are voting for what the believe and want. And knowing that there is one man in Ripon, let's me know there are people making the same decision as him, throughout the nation.
I know that there are many more republicans out there who agree that the US deserves a change. I'm proud of these men and women not just because of who they are voting for but also because they aren't buying the divisive campaigning.
I'm an Independant who's voted Republican most of my life. I consider myself pretty conservative on economic issues. I'm voting Obama this year because he's the one whose economic plan works on paper and is best for the American people. And also because he happened to choose a running mate that I wouldn't be ashamed to see in the White House.
Great to see another republican like myself voting for Obama! I have been turned off by McCain/Palin's lies and negative ads lately. All McCain did was attack Obama's character instead of telling us what McCain will do for us when we infact are losing our jobs, and our houses. I am so tired of my republican party!
We find ourselves at a crossroads. We as a nation are about to make the single most important choice we have ever been given. Move forward in to uncharted areas, or stand stagnant reeking of the failed policies of the past. The republicans are running scared. They know their days are numbered. They know this because the American people want and will choose to move forward. McCain is attempting to divide our nation once again, inciting hate and ignorance. We must and will reject this. We are one.
