Can you please give me a review of this hotel? I hear there are 7 pools and how is the food? seriously considering going here in november but want to make sure it is good. What kind of water sports are here? do they have kayaks, or jetskis? and are they are free or do you have to pay.
@p154831@p154831 From experience, I personally can say that my visit at this resort was quite good, but far from perfect. Yes there are 7 pools, but a bunch of them are occupied by screaming children. There are 2 nice peaceful pools I came across though. The beach is nice, but a bit rocky at times. The whales are truly a great sight! By the way, if you plan on swimming, it can get down to about 70 degrees in the winter. A bit too cold for me to be in the water. I will continue...
@p154831 The food is great at times. I had some minor upsets, but nothing much. If you want to hear more about that, just ask. There are some water activities, but they are more oriented towards children and take place in one of the kiddy pools. I don't believe I saw kayaks or jetskis, but I wasn't necessarily looking for them, so they could be there somewhere! I heard there was water volleyball if you wanted to play that, but I didn't partake.
@p154831 My hotel was okay. The structure was fancy. It had a nice kitchen section, a nice balcony, and a nice crapper. I'm not sure if all rooms come with balconies. My view was cut off by a part of the hotel in front of me which kind of sucked. The room service did not do a good job at cleaning the hot tub from the past user. I would advise looking at yours before you hop in. Mine had a brown powder hardened on the bottom. It didn't stink or anything, but when I turned the water on, I realized
@p154831 CONTINUED...that it was really dried up diarrhea. Or some food item that was brown that someone spilled in...truly gross. The manager was very nice and understanding and due to the brown stuff in our hot tub he moved us to a new room, and he upgraded us to a better suite. This one had a nice view, and was even bigger. I realized that the beds are actually quite comfortable, but you need to rip off this one sheet first. It is to prevent children from peeing and staining the mattress...
@p154831 With the sheet it was quite uncomfortable, but without it it was pretty good. Not as good as home, but you know... I am not sure if all rooms have these sheets. I don't believe the one king room does for example, because it is not likely to be used by children. Make sure to ask the room service lady to keep the sheet off for you. Entertainment for good...if you like singing and dancing. If not....then there's always the beach and tv (although I don't recommend watching tv!) ...
@p154831 The towels by the pools are not all the great in my opinion as well, but maybe that's because I spoil myself with nice towels at home :) I would suggest bringing your own. I think they are originally good towels, but they have so much wear, etc... Other notes: It is somewhat an open air resort. This is really hard to describe, but pretty much, your hotel has AC and is enclosed (unless windows are open) but other parts are not. Look at more videos, you'll understand what I mean.
@p154831 Additional notes: I would give it a 7.5 / 8 out of 10. You should note that the waters of the Pacific ocean and the inner sea can be quite different. There will be alot of screaming kids, but this is true with any resort. I can only imagine how many kids there would be during a school time off, like when schools have Easter week off or something. If you have any questions, feel free to private message me!
@OhEmmGeeh-Have you ever been to any Riu hotels? If so, what do you rate it?
