Why Japanese would use ”あなたのこと” instead of just "あなた”？

@MrFukaLama anata no koto literally means "the thing about you" or "something about you"... while anata is addressing to the person directly "you"... I think saying anata no koto is being politely indirect which is prevalent in japanese culture...

Its very great movie. I never cried this much before by watching sad movies. I am from India, do not understand Japanese but, by reading subtitles, I feel the movie. what a amazing story, acting, everything. Thanks for sharing.
