Maybe council people found the roof stuff or someone may have got careless, too noisy / too noticeable behaviour in the block / been followed / giving away studio location or whatever. They shouldn't have the means to find a microwave link unless they stumble across it as it's line of sight distance but very directional and low power (although it wasn't hidden so maybe found with binoculars by scouring rooftops from the transmitter site)?

They're twats for using a freq so near to LBC - that's asking for trouble. And the person on here who said they were overmod is chatting breeze, they had complaints about knocking out LBC, that's nothing to do with 'too loud' it's to do with being too close to 97.3 (LBC freq).Use a clear freq AT LEAST 300 khz away from legals if you don't want shit from the men in suits.

@TheBLWB totally agree with you i never understand why they brodcast 200khz from commercial ive heard lots of people say they ride in the shadows of commercial station to get listners but still that dont makes sense cause someone who listen to lbc (for example) wouldnt wanna listen to that type of station in the 1st place all they have to do is brodcast as you say 300khz or more if they have a choice and just play the tunes then people will stop reporting interferance to ofcom

@Shatonmedeek - This is correct Shaton! DJ's can be arrested for playing music on pirate radio. We are breaking a law - the wireless telegraphy act - passed in the UK many, many years ago. I own and run HEAT FM96.6 in the uk based in london bottom line this station was called energy fm and it was always over modulating " broadcasting too loud hence why they ot took off

Of course, digital radio (HD Radio in the USA) uses the same frequencies as analog broadcasts, so there will be no great expanse of vacant frequencies for pirates to take over.

Maybe if commercial radio staions actaully played music to cater for all tastes and not just the same Simon Cowell based tacky pop music rubish as every other station then there wouldn't need to be pirate radio stations, untill then they serve an important roll in music and especialy keeping proper music alive. Why should I have to be subjected to listening to the same bloody records every day just in a different order no matter what legal station you listen to.
