at the end there he says that the US targets countries that are likely to produce terrorist. l dont think he agrees with that, hes just making the point that they do. but in any case it isnt true that terrorist have any lenience to any country. They simply hide in the shadows of countries that will tolerate them and then move on. Also there is plenty Anti American sentiment within its own boarders.
Well done Ferguson, refreshing coming from a well educated Scotsmen, truly a people whome do not mince there words and give it straight, same with the Irish.

This eerily foretells his support of Bush's invasion of Iraq. Ouch!

@malma1 Chomsky sucks. Niall is a genius.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
This is a preprepared speech woven of jargon. What he says means anything and nothing. It's mere jargon.

Fascinating. Niall Ferguson shows amazing insight into the future. It's also interesting to see where he was wrong.
My thoughts:
1) Well meaning liberal democracies will always fail at policing violent corrupt countries.
2)The cultural confidence of China matters as much as it's economic power.
3)The United States has wasted it's inheritance though an orgy of borrowing.
Thanks much for the upload!
