if you really look at it its not that bad of a crash. he flpped over(not gonna kill ya), landed(might hurt a little) and then crashed into a wall at like 30mph. those cars a like built to do that.

its not that the cars are built to withstand crashes, they're not as they are built for speed but the drivers sit in what are called "pods" limiting their movement in collision.

Speed on its own would not cause it to flip.. it flipped because the ground curved downwards slightly at the point of flipping, and caused air to be caught under the car. Because of inertia, the car continues to move along its original path for a moment, until it loses balance and flips. Speed was one factor but speed alone is no reason for the car to flip....... The car would not have flipped in a vacuum.

You're partially right. It's mostly due to the fact that too much air went under the car instead of over it. These cars are designed to produce downforce when air goes over it, but when enough goes under, it acts like a wing, mkaing the car lift off.

you dont get it? The car lifted up from a bump, becasue the bottom of LeMans as flat and smooth it'll catch wind very easily like a kite. so once the top bumps up and catchs any air, it'll lift.
